I've been going to Telle Tires for over 8 years with great service. Everyone was always so…read morefriendly and always got great service. 8 months ago I started getting a 'check fuel cap' scrolling on my trip line on my dash. I tried all the regular fixes like tightening the fuel cap, but message was still scrolling. When I went in month's ago for an oil change Luke told me it was probably the Purge Valve but I could wait until my tags were due and needed an inspection. I made an appointment with Sid explaining check engine light intermittently comes on with the 'check fuel cap' message. He told me they would charge me $219 for a diagnostic. I said I don't need that, I know what the problem is. He was rude and didn't care what I had to say and I made an appointment to drop the car off on Wednesday 9/2. I went in at 9;45a to drop my car off and I met Sid. He was I just as rude in person. I told him I don't need a diagnostic because I know what the problem is. He wouldn't listen to me, he said thats not how we do things. I said why would I pay your $219 dollars to tell you whats wrong, when I'm telling what's wrong. He then said supposedly thats whats wrong, he kept talking down to me like I was a dumb woman. He then didn't want to talk to me anymore and the manager Jeff came over and was immediately was very condescending. I told him I didn't want a diagnostic I knew what the problem is. I said cant you just replace the Purge Valve and see if that resets check engine light. He also said supposedly thats wrong, it could be this or that and we need to run diagnostic that is policy. I said cant you just replace part, he said we don't do that. Jeff said Ill take $100 off. I was so upset and should have just left with my car. My ride came so I just left. I called 4 hours later and Sid answered said they haven't even looked at it, he again was not friendly or helpful. Dennis called me back a few hours later. Dennis was so nice, he a always is. He told me the Purge Valve needed to be replaced, exactly what I said but they wouldn't listen. They had to order part and wouldn't be done till the next day. If they listened to me at 10a they would have it done that day. Dennis called me around 9a and said the car was ready. I was going to talk to Jeff but only Dennis and Luke were there and they have always been nothing but nice and helpful to me through the years so I didn't want to unload on them so I paid the bill and $119 Diagnostic charge. This has really upset me because I always told everyone to take there car to this location bc they can be trusted, that they are honest and do great work. This review is solely on my interaction with the new Manager Jeff and employee Sid. It have nothing but wonderful things to say about Dennis, Luke, and the mechanics. I felt taken advantage of and dismissed. I drove out of the way to go to this location because the employees were so nice, helpful, professional and always provided excellent customer service until this day. You just lost a good customer. Do better!

After the young woman, Ally,** adjusted the tire pressure I was so appreciative and despite her initial decline for a tip I insisted she take the $10 tip and get lunch on me. So she accepted as to not hurt my feelings. . So, while pulling out of the "bay" something under my car was caught on curb surrounding the underground work area. I became extremely concerned but the young lady saw what was going on and instructed me to pull forward while she freed up the piece of rain shield that was covering my radiator, which was hanging down significantly enough that the three workers, with my vehicles best interest in mind, asked if I would mind waiting while they finished up another customer so that they could all get a better look and of course I was more than willing to wait. Turned out that the shield hanging off could have actually punctured my radiator and with my permission. They all 3 people (OT, ABBY, and one other younger gentleman)worked to dissembled the shield. that was a surprise to us all, considering it was coming off the car in that way however it was difficult to completely remove. So without them taking it off, no telling how much damage under my car would have been done if it was RIPPED OFF while driving. or said The 3-4 foot long 2ft wide HEAVILY DAMAGED piece of plastic most likely would have punctured the radiator sooner than later. I would not have needed an oil change or repair that would have discovered what JIFFY LUBE mechanics were vigilant and caring enough to identify, suggest I stay there until they investigate, and ultimately resolve a potential hazard to myself, other motorists and an extremely expensive repair had it punctured the radiator or god knows what else! The people and the quality of work, couldn't be ANY BETTER. THEY CHARGED ME NOTHING! I had tears in my eyes because THAT IS NOT SOMETHING YOU CAN FIND OFTEN THESE DAYS. Good people doing quality work and doing it with compassion and honesty. I'll be taking my vehicle here from now on for all routine maintenance. Great job you 3. (Sorry I butchered names) but management, Please acknowledge the three workers on the day I mentioned above. They are examples of what our world needs, and you are lucky to have them in your shop! The Good: - They were able to get me in quickly. Many places hem and haw about inspections, but I didn't get that impression here. - They have a phone/tablet charging stain in the waiting area. Pretty neat touch, but the cords do not extend, so forget about plugging in your device from the couch. The Not-so-Good - Parking? Forget about it. I have never gotten a decent spot, and usually have to park across the street at the railroad tracks. They have a VERY small parking lot that has been full each time I was there. - My inspection failed because of a leak at the muffler exhaust flanges. Another shop inspector told me that he would never have failed me for this. I looked at the State requirements, and it seems it would, in fact, fail because of the flange leaks. - Here is what I REALLY didn't like. In order to fix this, they wanted to replace the resonators, pipes, and mufflers at nearly $1400. When I asked if the flanges could simply be cut out and a new pipe welded in place, the guy actually LAUGHED at me and said that is not something they would be able to do. Let me be frank... I work on my own cars and am VERY good at recognizing BS when I hear it. His laughter made me feel like I asked a stupid question. At least, it was an attempt at that, maybe. I am extremely well-qualified. After he laughed at me, it changed my impression of this shop... permanently. I am livid about this, and that other people may be prone to not questioning them. - What did I do instead? For a few dollars, I cut out the flanges and welded in pipes. Right... I said, "a few dollars." Not $1400. After the repairs, I brought my car back, and it passed inspection just fine. I had an opportunity to listen to some interactions while I was waiting. I am guessing a "manager" was in the lobby and on the phone while the other worker was trying to talk to customers. It was almost impossible because the manager was being so cocky and loud. I did not like that, either, because it gave the impression of cockiness and rudeness. Would I take my vehicles back here? NO... NO, NO, NO! Laughing at my question is NOT a good response. $1400 for replacing exhaust, resonators (etc.) that DID NOT need it vs. a simple fix I did myself left a permanent negative impression about this business. Making me feel like an idiot was not cool. It left me wondering how many other people fall into this trap and blindly hand out money. FOLKS... Ask questions... Get second opinions! Don't settle for the first answer, and NEVER allow someone to laugh at you and make it sound impossible. I'm sorry guys - No blank check today.
