Plaza College should be ashamed of the work environment they've created for their employees, especially and specifically in the Admissions Department. It's important to note that this is a family-run operation, and the Dean of Admissions is the daughter of the president of the college. Her lack of professionalism and basic leadership skills is astonishing. I would refer to the heads of the Admissions Department as callous, selfish, and pretentious girls. When you meet them, they appear to be respectable and educated women, but after maybe a month or two of working with them, you'll realize they're nothing more than immature girls who seemingly refuse to run an office efficiently. One of the first examples of this that you'll notice is in the workload expectation itself: these girls will demand that you "balance" and "time manage" your way through countless virtual or in-person meetings, incoming calls, current students needing help with financial aid (which goes way beyond what should be in your scope -- especially considering you're not on the financial aid team), document collection, and then still make 100+ daily calls to prospective students -- all of which is monitored and tracked. At this point, you'll probably realize one of two things: A) you're not getting paid enough for the insane amount of work and infeasible expectations (which they'll never admit are infeasible), or B) you quit -- which is honestly very common. If you go with option A, you might try speaking to management to ask for fair compensation or even just help with your workload -- both of which will be a waste of time. They only give support or raises to people they personally decide are "deserving," which basically means unless you're part of the management team, you can forget it. The four girls that make up the "management team" are the only ones who get even half an ounce of respect from the Dean who runs admissions -- but even they aren't safe. You may catch a glimpse of her treating her own directors like they're brain-dead, and they just nod along and take it. Something else you'll notice quickly: the directors don't do much besides micromanage and look out for themselves. Some hide it better than others, but they mostly act as a bridge between you and the Dean -- which can feel like a blessing, because once that buffer breaks, you'll find yourself sitting in 2-3 meetings a week to "review your activity." Sometimes these meetings are fine -- they'll warm you up with small talk or tell you you're hitting your "mini-goals." But then, out of nowhere, you'll have your first bad meeting, and that's when things change. They'll speak to you in such a condescending and disgusting tone that it drives some people to quit that same day -- or at the very least, start planning their exit. And here's the worst part: you'll love your team aside from them. The rest of the Admissions reps genuinely try to help each other. That's the only reason people stay -- because you're bonded by the trauma of this workplace. The teamwork and support from your peers are what keep things afloat -- not leadership. Without that, this department would collapse. There's also this fake sense of "growth" they try to dangle in front of you -- offering made-up job titles as an incentive to stick around. But those titles are meaningless. They give you no real influence over the department, or even the specific program you work on. It's just a form of bribery, usually handed out right after someone quits to make it look like there's upward mobility. But there's not. The title means nothing -- it's just a tactic. You'll also notice that when things reach a breaking point, they suddenly go into fake "damage control mode." That's when you'll see random praise, fake check-ins, and surface-level appreciation gestures -- all just to keep the department from falling apart. It's obvious and exhausting. The sad part is, once they see this review (yes, they obsessively check reviews as well), they will all deny accountability because it doesn't fit their narrative of what kind of team they think they've built. Instead of reflecting on why so many people leave, why morale is so low, or why their department has become a revolving door, they'll spend hours trying to figure out who wrote the review and deny everything among themselves. Reflection and change won't come -- just more finger-pointing and more turnover. Never in my life have I seen or heard of it being normal for people to quit on the spot -- often after just a few weeks, and in some cases, even just a few days. That's how bad it is. Do not waste your time, value, or integrity here. You deserve better -- and trust me, so do the people who are still stuck in that department. read more

They want you to take out a series of loans and then when you start with them, they give you a bill and tell you "we don't take loans for prerequisites, you need to pay out-of-pocket!" This is the first school as well, that needs/wants to speak to a parent of a 21 yr old about financial aid and loans?!?! Why?!?! That makes absolutely ZERO SENSE!!! It's YOUR JOB as a school that claims to be the "best" and "accredited", etc., to want to help out students who want to attend your school for a better life and instead you're making it difficult, wanting them to go into debt when they graduate by paying back every single loan you want them to get. Be honest with the prospective/current student and let them know that you won't be accepting their "current SallieMae loan and that you want them to take out a series of loans so they can pay for their schooling!" I work weekdays until 6 and I've made several of their staff aware of this multiple times. Every single day, Monday-Friday I'm being harassed by this school. They call me multiple times from different numbers, leave multiple voicemails, multiple text messages and several emails throughout one single day. this was the first red flag. why is a university pressuring potential students to sign with them in such an aggressive way? well that's because Plaza College is NOT ACCREDITED. This means all of the credits you complete with them won't have the ability to be transferred anywhere else (Which means if you hope becoming an NP, you won't be able to because your credits are useless). You also take the risk of not being able to sit in for the NCLEX. Additionally, Unaccredited schools have limited financial aid. This is why Plaza College pressures you into taking out several of their loans. Plaza College only cares about collecting your money - and they've found a loophole through dishonesty. I attended the Dental Hygiene department, there was a high turnover rate for the professors and everything was very unorganized and the rules changed every day. They blamed their own mistakes on the students and expected everyone to go with the flow despite making it hard for the students. There was also favoritism if the professor likes you, you get treated better than others. This program is not for the soft hearted the professors believe that since they suffered in school that other students should suffer like they did. Really messed up place, gave me PTSD. This is the regarding the dental clinic they offer at Plaza College. This clinic is so unprofessional and is poorly run. I emailed the college to request an appointment. They call me scheduling an appointment for 6/27/22 at 6:30 PM. I arrived and the front desk girl said you dont have an appointment. I said someone called me and gave me an appointment. I legit drove all the way from long island for this appointment. Then the person that called me admitted to me that she forgot to write down the information. They insisted someone else will take me for a cleaning. I was waiting for 20 mins talking to the front desk girl and then she came back saying no one can take me for an appointment. The staff was absolutely unprofessional and I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone. They said they will call back to reschedule the appointment but its 2 weeks later and no call. I called genuinely to see what my status was on the application process considering about 3 months ago I was told I was placed on a waitlist for the accuplacer exam. Veronica calls me back a few minutes later to UNDERMINE me and basically tell me I should have handled the call a bit differently and not "accuse". Hmmmm... I'm sorry Veronica. Accuse? No. I was simply asking a question. Let's get one thing straight here.. the only person who should handle things a bit differently is YOU! Use this as a word of advice- Maybe stop misadvising and lying to your applicants. I can 100% GUARANTEE you that you'll probably have a higher success rate instead of turnover. The reason I'm giving one star is because I need to in order to leave a review. So I had applied for info on this school about a year ago. I didn't continue because I ended up landing a great job (details later) Anyway, the school kept calling and asking me if I was interested...Like multiple times a week type of calls. After a while I just ignored them. A few months pass and I haven't heard from them (thank the lord) then they call me. I told them to take me off the list and I thank them. Fast forward to now. I recently got a call from them and the lady who gave me a call asked if I was interested. I said no, I asked to be taken off the list. To be honest there is 2 people at the Plaza college Nursing Program that have been an absolute blessing... Jennifer from Admissions and Professor Arniotes who is THE best professor at that school. Jennifer has been amazing from the moment I have met her. She's so stylish, always smiling, honestly cares, and just a blessing. If it wasn't for her I would still be struggling as a medical assistant. She really made sure to be there every step of the way of the admissions process even down to me completing my first semester as a Nursing Student of the 1st cohort! Love her!! I would put a zero.I looked into this school for my son at 17 . He started the 18 month program in 2019. Today is 4/22/21 my son was having an issue with a teacher who I will explain as arrogant and petty child like behavior.This is his last semester never had a complaint or problem with any other professor in his 18 months of school. I called made a complaint 2 months ago. After that it was worst. She looked for any little reason said work wasn't completed that was etc. He was in class with her on 4/20/21 and my husband is listening to her being her petty self and he asked excuse me can i ask you what is the issue we need to speak and figure this out. Today my son receives a call from school Dean saying she felt threatened lol by what was said and if he does not apologize to her he cannot attend graduation. A graduation he deserves to attend for all of his hard work over the past 18 months never mind all the money I have paid in the last 18 months for him to attend this school. Plaza college is a school that dose not really teach you anything. You rush to do research for a paper every semester just to write about it and be told by your professor 3 times to correct it. I'm sure in the "real world " you won't be researching a topic just to put it in MLA or APA style for your boss. More then half of the janitorial staff is mean and nasty. They will argue with you if they see you eating or drinking in a class room. Before coming to plaza consider the fact you are basically giving up your adult rites in order to gain a degree that isn't even accepted or accredited nationally. Then the school and financial aid workers do not tell you that you have a right to claim your left over funds. They tell you it rolls over but it really doesn't until you fight back and after much nasty attitude and pointless written letter requesting something that is your right. Then they call you to say here your money. If you love to be treated as a child and to be spoken to without any regard for basic human respect then plaza is the place for you. They will lie to your face and will never work around your schedule how they say Saturday classes are a must eventually but they never tell u that upfront this school doesn't even help out with metro cards.. think it over go to a community school and live your life rite. read more

I am a current student at Plaza College (third semester, yay!) and I don't regret anything about this school whatsoever. The professors take their time to make sure you understand the curriculum in the class, they offer tutoring for those who need extra time or prefer one-on-one teaching, and the school hosts a lot of events during the break times between classes - giving you that welcoming feel from staff and student alike. I personally feel the school holds your hand and helps you pass - that is if you put in the work that they require to be done (which isn't much, honestly). I transferred from CUNY to Plaza with the hopes of getting my feet wet in the Medical Assistant program and I don't regret a thing. I'll definitely miss Plaza's staff when I graduate. :) read more

Don't even bother going here. I applied and was considering attending. The whole thing was extremely rushed and I was constantly contacted about attending even after I told them I changed my mind. It felt more like a business than a school. Also, the whole dress code aspect that was explained to me was ridiculous. It was described as helping you prepare for what to wear when you get a job. It should be common sense, it shouldn't be forced on students. If I plan to pay to attend this school I shouldn't have to dress a certain way or be unable to attend classes. read more

I have been given the runaround from Hanna the woman in charge of applications. I'm a African American female. I feel like because of my ethnicity she gave me the runaround on getting into the dental Hygiene program. I applied passed the test she told me that the rules have changed, I have to have 24 college credits in order to get in the program or work in a dental office. She suggested that I go to a community college gave me a list of courses I have to take in order to get in the program or I can get a job in a dental office for a while. You had to have 1 year experience in a dental setting to get in the program.So just like the other people I kept receiving emails from plaza college about the dental Hygiene program so I first researched the prerequisites in order to get in the program I couldn't find anything so I called asked a general question what are the prerequisites Hanna of course answered (she's the only person I guess who handles those applications) no prerequisites she replied I said wow that's hard to believe I was just there for the second time in January after passing your test you said I didn't qualify to get in the program and those prerequisites were mandatory. She also suggested that I apply to another program like medical assistant. I replied I would never do that. Why would I get a medical assistant associates degree. A Medical assistant makes 30k per year in New York a dental hygienists makes 76k per year starting salary. The same amount of time it's a no brainer. Just know she's not letting you in that program if your a minority. I asked her for the requirements in writing she said they do not have it in writing. I find that hard to believe. Terrible experience, NYU offers the same program same price. Everyone knows about NYU any state you go to. plaza college on the other hand not so much. read more

How is it possible that you pay $14,000 and you as a student have to still pay per paper that you print out at a library that is under their roof!! I wish I can put 0 stars because that's what this school deserves. This school is horrible! I attended this school for a year and a half. They make everything sound sweet in the beginning, acting like they want to help and will call you to try to convince you to attend their school. They supposedly had all of these externships for all students (medical and business). They only had it for the medical students. Also it was mandatory to dress "professionally" and if you didn't they would write you up or send you home. I witness a male student well dressed, he had jeans but they were clean with a button down shirt tie and shoes, he tried explaining that financially he can't get dress pants yet and they denied him and tell him to go home. I felt so bad. So you can't get an education because of the way you're dressed? I would not recommend this school, it's so expensive for no reason. I had a destination wedding to go to and I let them that I would be gone for a week and I wanted to get all the work for the week that I'll be off so I won't be behind. At first they were fine with it saying that they were going to email the president so that way he can approve it and everything will be okay.
