BEWARE POTENTIAL NURSING STUDENTS! This is by far the worst school for nursing. I went here for a degree in health Science / Nursing just to be told by my advisor that there is a high chance I won't get accepted into their nursing program even with a high GPA and that I should look else where. Too many people and not enough seats according to them which is ridiculous. Could it possibly be because they are bringing foreign exchange students from overseas into the nursing program for free which is lowering the acceptance rate for already attending students who pay out of pocket? Why am I coming here for nursing if I can't even get my license here?? If you call the nursing department they either don't answer or have an attitude, providing 0 help. Professors are also unethical, they require you to purchase their books and if you don't you basically fail. I even had some professors, create their own external websites instead of using Brightspace, which has made me and many other students fail their class due to how irrational they were. The school just makes it completely difficult to pursue a nursing degree. Too many people I know are dropping out or have been there for more than 2 years. I was better off applying to a 4 year school. They make you take unnecessary classes for the nursing degree which aren't required at any other college across the country, this prolongs your stay, and if you mess up and get below a C just say goodbye. Any bad grade you get won't get replaced by the new grade if you take the class over. Biology classes are split into two for lecture and lab meaning you have to pay double the price. Many professors in the medical department are very condescending , they hear about you pursuing nursing (which 80% of their students are) and they make it their goal to be spiteful and to discourage you on your journey. Professors, Dr. Philip Costa and Dr. Rosa Ronquillo were by far the BEST professors ever!! Also, im unsure why but most of the English professors in this college are depressed. One of my english teachers made us sit while he read a chapter out of a book he wrote about his personal life and it was so depressing. I'm now going on 3 years here and still haven't graduated, which is pushing me to believe that I should transfer to a 4 year instead that doesn't require all this bs, a school where I can actually attend their nursing program. Although my advisor is wonderful , she has withheld information from me before regarding the classes I needed to take in order to get my degree which prolonged my stay. This leads to my other issue I have with this school, if you don't enroll in high demand courses before a certain time you will not be able to get into any of their classes even if you apply weeks or even a month before the classes starting date. My advisor knows this information so her informing me last minute about classes I need to take is very frustrating . As for other advisors, I have never heard anything good about them. My best friends advisor put him in the wrong major , which he then had to do an additional 2 years. Another classmate (also pursing nursing) told me her advisor told her to just drop out instead of supporting her (she eventually dropped out). I've seen so many of my smartest most intelligent classmates cry over the course of two years because of the stress and classes. I don't give up so easily but if I did I would've been dropped out. I think anyones experience here would be much better than mine and faster if pursuing an easier major with less advanced classes like liberal arts or something. The graduation rate is 24%-30%. QCC is not an institution for as far as education and financial. The only people who benefit from QCC is the faculty. I say this because class time hours are over extended to increase funding for faculty pay. There is no reason why 1 class should be 4 hours long where 2 of the hours the professor talks about soccer . Students do not realize how much they are spending at a Community College because they are so focused on their course work. It is more affordable and time effective for students to attend a university. Lets not talk about the IT department. I was having trouble retrieving an unofficial transcript. Brandon was the person assisting me. I was becoming frustrated with the error messages that I was receiving. He began laughing say, "well I didnt have trouble". It's a cuny college and it's crowded. I can say there are some good teachers here just hit or miss. I did get my AA here and then I ran to Fordham..... Hold on.... I don't think you heard me.... I RAN TO Fordham. So if you can get your AA or AS here get it. It will save you money I did it in 3 semesters so cram in the classes it's hard but it's worth it! And then go to a prestigious school and get a good degree there! I want to thank my speech teacher J.C. Without that teacher I would not have been able to speak about certain things. This is about the bursar office. I wish I had the person's name who wrote this email so that they could be fired. They wrote me a sarcastic and passive aggressive email with insulting verbiage. During an email that should have been about financial assistance during a pandemic instead this person decided to start a debate about "trust". Where is their supervision? Does it even exist? I dropped my summer classes on 5/26/20 without knowing the last day to drop was a federal holiday, 5/25/20 MEMORIAL DAY. How CUNY decided a federal holiday made the most amount of common sense for a drop date is beyond me. Generally, you have weeks to drop before you start getting charged partial to full tuition. But apparently, for the summer session you have to drop before the class even starts. How does that make any sense at all academically? Students are allowed a certain amount of time to sit in a class to see if they will be able to perform well without being penalized financially. This wasn't even MY situation however these are the regulations that were created to protect the students. I dropped the class on 5/26/20, the start date of said course. Again, 5/25/20 was a federal holiday, why would I assume that was the last day to drop since it was before the class even began! This was also during the global pandemic that took place, where CUNY "vowed" to protect its students during an economic collapse amidst a pandemic. Not only do I believe that this school did not act fast enough with teachers not accommodating students absenteeism and still enforcing a strict attendance policy but now they even go as far as writing lies on their website. It clearly states that there will be accommodations provided to students who lost their job during the pandemic. Which is exactly what happened to me and I do not have to give any details since it is my right to privacy. And the bursar office has not even thought to provide any assistance at all. If it is written on the QCC. Website that should indicate that there was paperwork created for this situation. I can easily provide loss of job to any LEGAL PAPERWORK GIVEN TO ME BUT NOT TO AN EMAIL WITH A BURSAR EMPLOYEE WHO IS UNWILLING TO GO BY THE QCC GUIDELINES PROVIDED FOR THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC. This is the second financial disaster that has come out of this school. The first was: The advisor who helped me in 2018 and did not give me the Nassau county proof of residency paperwork so I paid OUT OF STATE TUITION FOR AN ENTIRE YEAR. The bursar as well NEVER LOOKED INTO THIS and I am sure this happens often. I graduated with my associates in 2014 and went on to graduate with my bachelors in 2017. I took extra classes at qcc that were needed for graduate programs that I will be applying to, so I am not some chump, who this school thinks they can take advantage of. I know the demographic of QCC and to think that the school thinks it can pray on at risk and underrepresented groups is shameful and should be investigated. QCC knows the the common demographic of this school, low wage working people and people who are financially underprivileged. This school has lost its ability to perform at their best. I am not sure what has happened in the last years but it is clear that the employment has changed for the worse and real incompetence has been hired. When I attended this school for my associates around 2013 I never had one issue everything was taken care of at the best of their employees abilities. What has happened now in the last 2 years of taking a few extra classes has turned into a financial disaster. I have given these people an extra 2,000 to 3,000 dollars extra than what I should have paid. Reviewing based on the admin process for L.. I'm not the one that will be attending. He wanted to start his prerequisites here since it's cheap and somewhat close by... he had to call several times to make sure he didn't have to take the placement exam since he took it years ago... they had trouble finding his scores. Lots of waiting around but eventually they were found and now he's finally able to have his advisement session before he can register for a class or two. I am a graduate of QCC. I have a love/hate relationship with this community college. I have very mixed emotions about QCC. The school reminds me a little of high school. Everyone is cliqued up. Its not very diverse. The only time students on campus come together is at the horrible dances they host. The teachers here are nice. They arent terrible. Most of them care. I think i could've gotten out within the 2 years , instead it took me 4+ . One year I had a huge blow out with this school "accidentally" putting me on academic probation. No one informed me of it until they just magically took my financial aid away forcing me to fight to get it back. But anyways, this is my last summer here. Went here for two complete semesters. The professors are great, and the resources are even better. It's financially viable and they have a lot of programs to help students whether it be financially, mentally or educationally. The campus is kept clean and there's a lot of different transpiration options. You can take the Q30 to hillside and have access to a dozen different buses and the train line including F and E. You can also take the Q27 towards flushing and have access to a lot of different areas. In general, there's little bad to say about this college. read more

It's not a bad place to start out for college. If you live near this school, it's definitely convenient. When you come to the campus to register, bring everything. Call ahead and make sure because you don't want to keep coming back and forth. Especially when you're going to visit the financial aid office!!! Bring everything! There's plenty of parking if you plan on taking night classes and don't have to worry about the parking restrictions. If you plan on parking on campus, it's $1 every time you enter the parking lot. My advice to you is not to rely on it too much because some people are horrible drivers (meaning they will give your car a nice love tap). Night classes, you don't have to worry about this as much. If you're commuting through the MTA, it gets a bit crowded. If you're taking the Q27 going towards Flushing, I'd walk up to Springfield Blvd and Horace Harding and get on from there. Trust me, it's less crowded. In case you're wondering exactly where, it will be right in front of Chase Bank. Classes are easy and make sure you utilize most out of this college. I give this school 4.5 stars. I spent two semesters (one year) in Queensborough Community College as a Liberal Arts major (full time), and I must say that I really like this school. When you first see this school from its main entrance, your thoughts are either, "Well, this sucks, this school looks like a parking lot," and/or "Eww, community college, ugh it's for non serious people!" Don't let first impressions get to you. Atmosphere: It's just OKAY, not the best. I've seen better looking campuses. What I like best about the campus is the nice garden deeper in the campus. As for the neighborhood, it's not bad at all. It's actually in a Chinese neighborhood, just across the street from Cardozo High School. Activities: Good variety of different clubs in this school. There's an art gallery as well as the holocaust museum (where you can meet holocaust survivors). There is also a Student Union Building, where some of the clubs meet up. Club meetings take place early afternoon every Wednesday. Convenience: There's a Q27 bus stop INSIDE the campus. Yep. You got that right. You can't complain about that. Other than the bus, all the buildings seem pretty close to each other, so it isn't hard to walk from one class to another. Students: Overall you can find people from different ethnicity in this school. The students consists of a lot of Asians (a lot of chinese/korean people come out of the Q27). The students are friendly and try to help each other out. Professors: Just like what everyone else says about college, it depends. Some people get bad professors, while some people get okay ones. You may have to get advisement from a counselor in order to register for classes. If you have the ability to go onto that new CUNY system to register for classes yourself, definitely look at ratemyprofessors.com, because I believe the students's opinions is pretty close to what you may experience w/ that professor. As for me, I liked most of the professors I had in QCC. If you're the type of person who doesn't want a load of work from classes, I suggest you go for night classes. Not only do you get less work, but classes are more laid back than day classes and professors tend to dismiss class early because they're tired and want to go home as much as you do. Bursar/Registrar's office: Lines are super long and isn't unusual for one to wait 40 minutes to finally be seen. You may want to call them instead of waiting on line if you simply want to ask questions. Parking: Parking requires one to get a token. You can get tokens in some of the buildings around campus, including the science building. You can get tokens from the token machines. Parking is pretty decent priced according to what people have told me. Food: If we're talking about the science cafe, their food is OVERPRICED and doesn't taste good. There's no way I'm spending $8 on an order of bland tasting sushi again. You are better off bringing your own food to campus, or go to the halal stand in front of the school. Cafe is closed on Fridays. Advisers: NOT the best. Supposedly on everyone's first semester of college, they are required to take intro to college, which lasts half a semester. After one takes intro to college, he/she is "unlocked" which means that he/she is able to select classes for the next semester without an adviser. For some reason, my adviser didn't put me in intro to college, and it's not just me who got into this mistake, but A LOT of other people as well. Because of that, I had to take online class for intro to college in order to register for classes. So in the end, I had no choice but to register late. UGH, what a pain. So my advice to you: make sure you are registered for intro to college during your first semester here as a freshman or you will get into the same mess as me and others. read more

The comments below show, as well as represent, the body of students at Queensborough who clearly aren't prepared for college-level work. As you prepare to embark on your undergraduate academic career, you must be able to grow up quickly and understand what it is you have to do. People are not going to hold your hand or feed you in life. If you arrive here with that mentality, then have fun spending extra years at a community college for your lack of common sense. This is an institution that will help you gain the proper insight to either prepare you for the workforce or for a senior college. It is NOT solely the advisers' job to babysit you and show you which courses you need to take to graduate; it is your job and responsibility as well. Students at QCC have the misconception that everything will be spoon-fed to them once they arrive here. Stop bitching and complaining. This school is good because it's cheap, small, and convenient, and that's where it stops. Academically, Queensborough is nothing to rave about. Obviously it's a community college, but I'm sure there are some pretty decent ones out there, and I can confidently say Queensborough probably isn't one of them. The reason for my two star review is not so much the facility or even the professors/academics offered. My two star review is mainly for the faculty that deals with the students, other than the professors. Those people are very important. If advisors aren't doing their job properly than what happens as a result is students are taking classes that they don't need, and this sets them back. I know its all about money, but I'm sure these advisors could care less about Queensborough college's funds. Pros: -safe neighborhood to park your car; where I go to school now it's too dangerous to park on any old block. While you might have to walk a bit you wont feel like you're putting your life on the line. - The school does have a pretty unique dance program in retrospect to the overall CUNY system, and the dance studio is pretty legit. - Very mixed population so there is no minority group, for lack of better words -CUNY school= cheap tuition; I believe it's about 1,500 per semester. Cons: - Parking: (Funny how I listed it as a pro too), its $1 to get into the parking lot. You leave, you pay again AND they only take stupid school tokens--there IS NO parking permit/pass for a semester basis. Now to park (residential or lot) you have to come at least like an hour and a half before class. Come 10/11am the line is all the way down Cloverdale. - A lot of foreign, English as a second language, professors teaching the classes. As a result YOU have no idea what's going on. - The help here is HORRENDOUS; if you don't advocate for yourself NOBODY will, I can promise you that! The "advisors" don't advise anything useful in your best interest. They do what they have to do to keep the wallet fat. This is what I was explaining earlier, so if you decide to come here, be very aware of this as it probably will apply to you! I'm so happy to be rid of this place! while some of the professor here really genuinely enjoy their jobs and you can tell the dedication they have, others are not so enthusiastic. Some professors here love their job, while others are just here to give you a hard time. Its like they know that if they fail you then you will have to retake the course which means more money in their pocket. Its a very unorganized college and there isn't much of a sense of community. Everyone that comes here is really just keeping their heads down and doing what they have to do so they can transfer to another college. The only exception is probably their nursing program which I hear rave reviews about. So this is my first term at QCC after attending QC until '09. I'm taking 2 classes thus far, which are in adjacent buildings, so I haven't really explored the campus too much. The commute can be a pain, going from Forest Hills to Bayside with 2 buses (40 minutes to an hour on a good day), but I guess I don't mind. Both of my professors make my classes fun, so that's a plus. However, if you're a student in your early to mid 30's as I am, or beyond, and are looking to socialize with mature, like minds, you're out of luck. The student body consists of mostly young kids, either in their teens or early 20's. I'm obviously the oldest in both of my classes, and feel like a mother, lol. Books at the school store are on the pricey side, as are the food and snacks at the cafes around the campus. The entree foods are served on loose paper plates, for those that wish to dine outdoors in nice weather. To make use of the elevators, you must go to the Health Services building and purchase an elevator key for $25. The elevators don't operate unless you insert the key and turn for the direction and floors you desire. The keys are good for the duration of your attendence at the school, and you get refunded your money once you return the key. For me, so far, so good. read more

I 'm beyond disgusted with this school. Never had a problem with them until I had a complicated pregnancy . I withdraw 4 days after the deadline because I was so sick not even realizing it. I always paid my dues with this school and I don't even get financial aid!! I provided them a doctor note and they denied my request to not charge me for a class I didn't attend at all! I 've been out of work for almost a year since my pregnancy, so I'm not financially stable. Without hesitation they send me to collection and I now have my newborn. Who does that to someone ? The school is very close to home so this is why I gave it two stars. This is not the worst nor the best. The art gallery is situated on top of the hills at Queensborough Community College. The building has a cottage-esque exterior with bigger than expected room to install exhibitions inside. There is a sculpture garden right outside the museum that offers fine prospects to the nearby lake. To most people, this is definitely not the first place to come in mind for "serious" art exhibitions. I certainly did not plan my visit, but I was impressed by the overall organization. I was able to view two temporary exhibitions plus a permanent exhibition on African arts and crafts. The "Uncle Charlie photo essay" by Marc Asnin was previously exhibited elsewhere a few years ago, and it was a nice surprise to see this New York native's work to be installed here. "Carapace Explorations" by Tony Monahan was an exhibition from an existing faculty member at the QCC, and it was cohesive throughout. The African art gallery, though compact, does offer a good sampling of different types of crafts for the continent. I took a short tour at the garden towards the end, and it was a nice place to take a break especially when the library not far away was crowded and packed during the lunch hour. I have a few critiques for the place: the receptionist working during noon time was laughing quite a bit throughout my visit (apparently she was bored to watch funny video clips online), and it was distracting enough to make me take one star off for the gallery alone. The flow for Marc Asnin was a bit confusing during the hallway, and I almost walked into the admin office. The African art gallery, if possible, can use a bit of graphics to represent where in Africa the arts are collected. Africa is big enough to have diversities that needs to be properly mapped. read more

The advisor are all over the place So make sure you're taking the right courses that go with your major. Lots of food variety which is good and the food prices are pretty expenisvo. Tuition is good for a public college and cheap compared to a private college. They have a gym, track, pool, tennis court etc The college is clean. Lots of DIVERSITY, in my classes there is little bit of Hispanic, Asian, African American, Caucasian, middle eastern etc. They have a lot of activities for students like karaoke night, discussing everyday issues etc. Some of the students are disinterested but that sounds like a personal problem. :) I'm starting my fourth semester spring 2016. Good place and nice faculty, great selection of Buses Q27 to Flushing or Cambria Height and Q30 to Jamaica which can be transfer to Q17, Q88 at 188th street Horace Harding expressway or take Q27 to 73rd Ave and transfer to Q88 to Queens center mall or transfer to Q65 on 46th Ave and 164th street. Nice accessible elevator for the different building and nice food and café atrium with celling the fan and bathroom, but nice clean trash can with label of what to put in the can. You can walk to Wendy's or Burger King which is not far from QCC which you can leave during your break. Nice CWC and nice director of CWC which I met him before in Fall 2019, but he has a nice office. There is a testing center and CUNY START office Y-13 and CUNY START teacher office, and a bathroom plus a track near the Q27 bus stop. It right across from Benjamin Cardozo High school. Well i have not attended one class yet. School begins on Tuesday for me. I will be attending at night because i work and I really wanted to go to the Electronic Music Technology program. What dragged me in is the campus. I could have easily gone to LaGuardia but I their music program actually takes place at the Institute of Audio Research. I am a business marketing student at QCC. Overall I think the school is okay. Some professors I have taken talk in circles about themselves flying through the material in the textbook. Other professors I have taken will help you out anyway possible from a recommendation for work or school to encouraging students to attend special events that take place in the school. This school is love/hate relationship. I love to be on campus for the experience but you barely make friends. The professors are okay and some are amazing and very helpful!! I'm mainly writing this review towards their nursing program.!!!! Which I applied to recently and was interviewed I have completed all my pre and co reqs for my associates and bachelors degree when I do transfer. I honestly thought I nailed the interview and didn't my gpa isn't a 4.0 but it's mid 3's which is great if you ask me! I wasn't accepted into the program for god knows why. When I asked them they told me to ask my advisor who told me that he doesn't know why because my grades are amazing and wouldn't understand why I wasn't accepted I even had recommendation letters from my professors sent out to the nursing program! It's very upsetting to think that people were asked one question during the interview and have lower grades then i do got in??? Based off one question their decision is made?! I don't understand I've worked so hard to get into this program because of all the good things I've heard..it's sad that they made me wait so long because I have no choices now for any other nursing program....they must be corrupt or something everyone warned me not to apply. People with 4.0 gpa also were denied or not even offered an interview which blows my mind. Not organized or direct. They wanna keep you in this school for as long as possible to do what you may ask waste your money!!!!!!!!! It's funny because an advisor told me when I applied why would I apply to this nursing program when I'm Hispanic and Hispanic women don't get into he program now has me thinking maybe that's why I was denied...it's 2020 and racism knocked down my chance into getting in how ridiculous could this be Anyways just a heads up there's no guarantee that you get into this program idk how they choose people. read more

Some of the teachers are not very clear on what they want you to do with assignments. Simple mistakes can cost you your grade, that could've been avoided. One class messed up my entire gpa and my chance for it to be the highest it could've ever been. Cannot wait to leave. read more

Ok school the secretaries are rude always discourages me from going to advisement etc

[Academics] Overall, this is probably the *strongest* community college in NY when it comes to academics. I was President of the Math Club, and can testify that we were at the #1 position or near the #1 position for each semester I've been here. There is a thriving honors program that encourages students to do extra research/work for a class and make presentations about what they've done. Off the top of my head, I have friends who have transferred to places like Columbia and Stony Brook. I've also heard that we've had students successfully transfer into Harvard. I'm taking a gap year before transferring, but intend to continue the rest of my time as an undergraduate at Columbia, and feel more than well-prepared, though that has more to do with the fact that I went out of my way to make it more rigorous than it usually would be (took 24-credit schedules; am graduating with a GPA of 3.916). The chemistry and biology departments are pretty impressive, especially for what you would find at a community college. The physics department gets a bad rap for having professors who cannot adequately explain the subject matter, but I believe that students should take personal responsibility to self-study when they encounter such situations. Ironically, I've learned the most from "bad" professors because of the fact that I had to be more creative, diligent, and tenacious to compensate. The math classes I took (Calc 1-3; Differential Equations) were on par in terms of difficulty with what you would get at a four-year CUNY, but generally easier than what you would get at a place like Stony Brook or MIT. Humanities and social science classes, in my experience, felt a bit dumbed down compared to what you would face in a four-year school, and in some cases were easier than what I faced in high school. [Social Life] There practically is none. It's a CUNY school, and a community college to boot. Even the four-year CUNY schools are a bit asocial in atmosphere, and I like to think the fact that it's a community college as well just makes things double-dead in that regard. Of course, it's still definitely possible to make friends - even lots of them (in my experience). You'll just have to put in quite a bit more effort. You may get the impression that many students are introverted or antisocial, and while that's true in some cases, it's also due to the fact that going here can "condition" you to that mode of behavior to some extent. [Facilities] The bathrooms are clean for the most part. I sometimes joke that the ones in the science building are worth suing over (a bit of hyperbole), because of the fact that the paper towels are only in the toilet stalls, and are extremely poor in quality. The bathroom in the first floor of the science building is a pleasant exception. I suggest using it, or the bathrooms in the administration building or the library building if you can. The food options consist of the science building cafeteria, the student union cafeteria, and the stands out on the border shared with Benjamin Cardozo HS. I've been pretty satisfied with the choices, although some may characterize it as overpriced/overly-greasy. So yeah, this school definitely has its perks. I'm graduating with a major (Engineering Science) that usually takes three years for most students to complete, but thankfully, with a little hard work, I've completed it in two years. I was a high school dropout before coming here, and because of that, this school will always hold some sentimental value as the place I chose to put myself back on track. Still, I'm definitely glad to be able to finally leave it behind. I was able to find a few people to connect and vibe with on a genuine level, but I resent the disproportionate amount of effort it took to attain such relationships. My review was going to go into a lot more detail, but the character limits ruined it. Oh well. Go here if you absolutely need to attend a community college. You'll probably be pleasantly surprised in one way or another. If you can afford to go elsewhere, I recommend you go elsewhere, preferably at a place that isn't so socially dead. Oh, and dealing with bureaucratic BS (financial aid; Bursar's; advisement; etc) can easily be a bigger pain in the ass than studying for classes, but it's something that can serve to toughen you up and make you more prepared for the real world. That doesn't necessarily reflect well on this place, obviously, but as they say -- QCC is "what you make of it." Just don't try to make too much of it. read more

Fresh start for a fresh campus student that just graduated high school and that's a pleasant environment and the great atmosphere with Bayside high school just across the street from the Campus filled with food stands and students bustling and Hustlin their way to and from classes in between their hours. If you have any type of learning disability or need a little extra help do not count on this college for their help. They are there to take your money and not tell you what they think is best for you! Signed up with high hopes as I am older now so I thought I would do better. Lasted 4 days. I was under extreme pressure. I knew I was going to fail and it would cost me dearly. So I withdrew through the counselors advice. I just wish they would give a little extra time for people with this disability. But they don't. So 800.00 dollars later to learn a harder lesson. To fail and have to pay for it!!. read more

I'm giving this CUNY school one star. This one star Is very generous for the bad service they have there. From the staff in the admissions office to the staff in the international office they all take their time and move slower than Tuttle to get one simple thing done. I was told my paperwork would only take 2 days but instead it took 2 weeks and because it took so long I can't even attend school there. Talk about lying. Not only was I forced to pay my for classes before my paperwork was done, a whole 3500, they told me I could not get all of my money back. Great job taking my money! read more

This school is absurd.. I pay full tuition to not be lectured? My advisor was no help at all! I was told my classes were going to be a virtual classroom and non of them are. They basically give you an assignment and you hand it in. How am I supposed to do an assignment if a teacher is not teaching me anything? I'm a freshman.. how am I supposed to just understand the assignment. Waste of $2,600... I told the professor I have never done this before and how I am very confused. His response was " please read everything and follow the instructions. Ten steps. Then ask. There are no fixed meeting times only due dates for the discussions and assignments". First of all excuse me? I pay FULL TUITION to be told this? Very disappointed do not recommend anyone coming here. The admissions office is no help as well, I told the woman I feel like I am not getting the equivalent education for $2600.. she said " you are cause you're still getting your credits" I swear I lost brain cells. The financial aid workers don't want to do their jobs and they are very rude. One of the academic advisor was really rude and her name was Victoria Wallace. When I was in my late teens, I had financial troubles and the head of financial aid office had called my mother cheap because this school took away my financial aid. I had the worst experience here. You'll get some good professors who are sweet but some really terrible dull ones. Thankfully, I transferred out and had a better experience elsewhere. It was the best thing I've done and my GPA is much better. I even had a scholarship in my current school. Queensborough gave me plenty of rough times but at least you get a good counselor who knows how to do her job. I would never forget Victoria Wallace the academic advisor and what she said to me. "If you keep this up you'll end up working for mcdonalds". If she saw her size, she looks like she eats there all the time. I was crying. Terrible school. read more

This college deserves to be shut down and never be re-opened. Queens Community College has yet to be the worst college I've ever attended. One thing that I hate about this college is its remedial class and the professors that teach them. Advisers are no help at all. Remedial classes have ruined my college experience. Why are the even a course in this college? And why the students get punished and get placed in Academic Prohibition and after they failed the remedial classes three times. The professors that teach these classes don't even look like they want to teach those classes, teach false information to the students that want to get out of remedial classes. Also, the advisors suck. This college is horrible. read more

Highly recommend this school because it's incredibly easy to earn an Associates degree in 1.5-2 years. The Professors work with you & advisors work with you as well. Math tutoring is open without appointment. Parking isn't so bad compared to other 4 year colleges. Nice, small & convenient campus. This college is pretty straight forward. Graduated in 1.5 years and majored in Business Admin. Professors were GREAT for this program. Professors also work with you even more during summer/winter sessions. Best community college! read more
