Absolutely off the charts. Take it from this Texas boy.... This Mexican food is AMAZING!!! I ordered the Birria Tacos for lunch today. Had them add sour cream and jalapeños. I mean to tell you ----- it was amazing. Felt like I was in Mission TX on the border. And the service is great too! I will definitely be back. Love the ambiance with the exposed rock wall and the heavy timbers on the ceiling. read more

The outside area between bar entrance and upstairs dining room entrance was littered with debris from what I assumed was kitchen door to dumpster, the whole area was covered in grease and smelled like rotten food. Bathrooms were not too bad. The whole restaurant is tired looking and could use an update. Food was usual Mexican flare. Service was okay. read more

My man and I had just been to the Lancaster location about two weeks ago, and we decided to go to the one closer to us. We both had such a great experience at the other one and the food was so good we decided to try this location. We were not disappointed! Same great service, food and quality! We both got the same thing as the previous time (enchiladas bandera & chipotle burrito), and we both liked it just as much as the first time! No taste difference, both were delicious. This location is unique, the building is a two story house in a brick neighborhood, so it's a bit out of place. There's two floors, each with their own kitchen and staff. We went on a Saturday night and the parking lot was nearly full, yet we were seated immediately and got our food within 15 minutes. Both left very satisfied with food. read more

its a solid 5. why other people rate it less IDK. go here like 1x a month or 1 x every 2 months. its a ways away from home but people go form all over bc its the only really good mexican restaurant wiht authentic mexican food in a long ways. I wish it was closer. the guac is amazing. the salsa is great. chips are great. the menu is huge.never seen any restaurant with such a huge menu and its all excelllent. gourmet. its gonna take me many years to try it all. everything is always delicious and all 4 of us agree. waiters are attentive. they even brought me a glass of ice and let me pour cofee and milke to make an iced coffee in summer bc was too hot to drink hot coffee. always leave stuffed and have leftovers for next day. ive been to mexico several times. and used to go to really good mexican restaurants in other states then moved to PA in the sticks. and worst part is lack of really good restaurants. well this is one of them. if you like mexican food you will be a regular after you try it once. never disappointed. and weve tried at least 7 other "mexican" restaurants all over the area which we havent gone back to a second time. read more

Never expected that I would be eating Mexican in the middle of Pennsylvania, and a very good one. If you want good Mexican or good food, you must come here. ***In a rush? Skip to the end for my tips.*** Went here with a big group, about 12 people, and they were accommodating right away and it was on a Saturday night. And, everything we ordered was so good. First, we got appetizers that were so delicious! - Fresh Tableside Guacamole - They bring over a cart with all the fixings and make the guacamole in front of you. And, we killed it right away. If you like guacamole, don't hesitate, get it! - Queso Fundido Choriqueso - Chorizo and melted cheese? Yes, please! This was so good! For my entrée, I was craving fajitas, and I got the Texas Fajitas. It came with rice and beans, pico de gallo, and sour cream. And, the steak, chicken, and shrimp fajitas came on the typical sizzling skillet, along with a side of flour tortillas. And, it was so delicious, but it was so much food that I couldn't finish it. I would say definitely get the fajitas, but everything everyone else got looked good and everyone praised the food's deliciousness. My friend go to the carnitas dinner and as soon as she took the first bite, her words were "Oh my God, this is good!" Like all the other dishes, there was so much food that she couldn't finish it. She had to pack the rest to take home. The desserts sounded really good, but we were all beyond the food coma stage because we all ate so much! If I'm ever in the area again, you bet I'm coming back here because I know that I'll be guaranteed good, amazing food. Tips: -There is plenty of parking. -When you walk in, you are greeted by a host and then seated. We were sent upstairs to a brighter and more spacious area. -They have all kinds of alcoholic drinks. -This is a good place to come with big groups because it's very spacious there. read more

My combo (SHREDDED BEEF BURRITO WITH CHEESE SAUCE, BEEF & CHEESE TOSTADA, CHICKEN QUESADILLA & BEEF TACO) was delicious and a great value for the price . We will not order the Super Queso dip again because it is visually unappealing and difficult to eat. We were seated on the main floor in the "sunroom" with green walls and it is very loud in there. The music playing is already a decent volume in the main room, then in the tiny sunroom with no sound absorption, it maximizes the music and it's hard to have a conversation at times. If we come back, we'll request the main room or the bar downstairs for margaritas. read more

This is a chain of Mexican cuisine for this side of the country. Although it's a chain, the food is fantastic. The menu is huge. If you can't find something to enjoy, then you are an extremely picky eater. They greet you with chips, salsa, and a ranch like dressing to dip your chips in. If you enjoy guacamole I highly recommend the table side service. With a small tip the server prepares fresh guacamole. You can choose spicy or not. It is the best. I came with some friends and ordered a Molcajete, a steak burrito to go, and a couple mojitos. The molcajete had steak, shrimp, chicken, pineapple, green peppers, and onion. You shouldn't eat it in one session. But I always do, because it is so good. The mojitos, plain with muddled mint leaves. So refreshing. The waitress gave excellent service. Everyone at the table agreed that it was the best they had around this area. read more

Was looking for a close place that's open later than most restaurants in the area. This was my first time ordering from them. I got takeout so I can't comment on the dining experience but the place was upbeat and lively when I walked in. I ordered their dinner chimichangas (chicken + hard shell) and they are AMAZING! I've gotten a few chimichangas at other nearby restaurants but this is my new favorite place to get chimis from! I also feel their prices are very fair for the amount of food you get. I'll be ordering from here more often in the future. read more

The food was delicious, friendly service, and a fun atmosphere! My whole family enjoyed ourselves!

For Allentown, it's a decent spot! The fajitas and Margs are good! A ton of space inside too so it's easy to get in without a res.

My friend and I met here last night to catch up and have dinner. I will say it's not to see a place like this in the area and was needed a long time ago. There is parking but I wouldn't say there's an over abundance. We walked in downstairs and were directed upstairs. The downstairs is sort of dark and uninviting. We were greeted by the friendly hostesses and sat right away. The upstairs is bright and open with plenty of seating. We were given complimentary chips and salsa along with their house sauce which is so good. Our server was so nice. He was quick to check on us and get us what we needed. I ordered the mango margarita which was AMAZING! So good but I will say I didn't taste much tequila. We started with the guacamole which was delicious and a HUGE portion! I got the combo with a burrito, enchilada and taco that were all chicken. I can honestly say I was incredibly disappointed by the burrito because it tasted exactly like the enchilada. I thought the prices were incredibly reasonable given the portions. I recommend coming here as it's something different for this area. Portions are great. Food and service are good. They also have outside seating as well. read more

Came by with a large group and they easily accommodate us, this place is huge!! Everything we had was delicious, but for a native Californian.. the food is very Americanized. They do provide plenty of fresh tortilla chips and white dip (not sure what it was, it's like ranch and mayo had a baby?) and salsa.. and they also do make a mean margarita. read more

Their food is very good, their service is great, Ambiance is very good, I love it, I recommend going there again.

I called to place an order but didn't receive an order number. When I arrived to pick it up, they asked for it, and I explained that the person who took my order didn't give me one. The staff member was rude, acting like it was my mistake. As I was leaving, I realized they forgot to include one of the items I had ordered. When I brought it up, they seemed even more annoyed. The whole experience was frustrating, with unprofessional service. I should've just driven to the Wyomissing one. I definitely won't be returning. read more

The service I received from the time I entered the door and spoke to the person at the front desk as well as the prices for rates for a week were absolutely the most horrendous in all the area. Seems like a popular place, not exactly sure why, probably because it's one of the few places in town but the photo attached is what they call their queso...? Um that's literally just meat, there was no cheese about it. Also I order my meal and the queso was delivered 1.5 minutes after ordering and the main meal followed 2 minutes after that. I'm all for fast service....at a fast food place, but it was obvious these meals are prepared way ahead of time and just warmed up. No restaurant can make a full meal in 3 minutes, from order to at table. Once the meal was dropped off, absolutely no service afterward, not one person came back to my table. I wouldn't really recommend this place unless I was absolutely starving and no where else to go. read more

I was excited that I finally had a chance to check out Plaza Azteca over the weekend. I went for happy hour with my family and I believe our margaritas came to $5 each. Such a steal especially once you see the size of them. Plaza Azteca had a great selection of margs but I decided to go with the house margarita. Even though we were originally just there for drinks, the bar served us chips, salsa, and a taco dip while we sat there and enjoyed our drinks. I really liked that because most places you would have to buy chips and salsa. We ended up getting dinner and I thought our meal was excellent. I would suggest splitting your meal with someone because the portion sizes are pretty large. I shared the Texas fajitas and it was the perfect amount for both of us. The steak and shrimp were cooked perfectly and came with a side of rice and beans. Overall, we all had a really nice time and enjoyed our food. The place was also packed at 5:30 which is always good to see. I'm looking forward to trying other items on the menu, especially the fresh guac! They make fresh guac right in front of your table! read more

Where can I begin with this amazing place? We celebrated our daughters 21st birthday here this evening. We were treated like royalty from the manager, Henry, helping us bring in a cake to our server, Daniel, who never let us want or need for anything. They were so amazing. The food was absolutely incredible and done correctly how we ordered it. The drinks were never empty. They had a customer first attitude from the beginning. Plus they're doing everything they can to keep everyone safe during the pandemic. Thank you to the whole Plaza Azteca staff for making this so memorable for her. We'll be back very soon. read more

A bit of a trip through the Amish farmlands with windey roads and associated aromas but worth it. This was our second visit. Still really good service, reasonable prices, very good food. The upstairs was clean and bright, although the two female hostess ignored us and were messing around on the phone the young men picked up the slack and got us to a table right away. Chips and two types of salsa the standard red and a white that we haven't had before came right away, so did the drinks and water. Food also came when expected, was hot and tasty. It was comparable to any Latin restaurant we have been to. However I have never had refried beans this good anywhere. It really stands out that a side most ignore is this good! We shall return and we do suggest you at least give this one a go. read more

Delicious omggggg...my mouth waters!!!!! Everytime I think about the dishes and I love how fresh the food is and the service is

I didn't have high expectations going in, and in summary, it was just ok. We arrived at 5 and there was about a 40 minute wait, due to social distancing guidelines/reduced capacity. No big deal, really. After being seated, the chips were not good. Reheated perhaps? Not crunchy. More like chewy. Yuck. I did not like either of the salsas they provided with the chewy chips. Cheese dip was good. Our server doubled as our bartender. Margarita was just ok. I actually make a better one myself. The entrees were much better. Great al pastor tacos, and the rice and beans were good. Service was also very good. But there were more negatives than positives with our experience. For $55, for me and two kids, (includes 20% tip), I was left underwhelmed. read more

The food was amazing as it always is. The service was very good as well. My only complaint would be that my wife and I decided to sit at the bar to watch a basketball game while we ate, but as we were watching the game a new customer came in and requested a specific game be turned on. The bartender handed him the remote and let him change the channel to what he wanted without asking if anyone was currently watching the game that was already on. I love their food. I've been a fan for years, eating at their locations in the Reading area for a while. I finally stopped in the Myerstown location, which I've been meaning to do for some time. The food was outstanding, as usual. Only downside was the cleanliness -- one set of silverware we got was not cleaned properly (dried melted cheese on a fork is hard to get off or notice I guess) and I was told by another member of our party that the ladies' bathroom was a bit of a mess. Mens room was fine IMHO. Not a fan of restaurants plastering the walls with flat screens playing sports, but it seems everyone does it these days. Shame, really. I usually opt for one of their "signature" (or w/e they call them) dishes. They have all been good. Don't get a taco salad unless you want soggy bland disappointment. Fajitas are top-notch as well. But you have such a great selection of burritos, enchiladas, and other fare, choosing something you would find at Chilis or something makes no sense to me. Reasonable prices, especially for the portions you get. Plan on taking some home. read more

Plaza Azteca - Mexican Near Me - Myerstown, Pennsylvania

The Plaza Azteca is a multi-level building with greater atmosphere upstairs than down. Upon entrance there was a wait for someone to direct us to the stairs around the corner by the rest rooms. It appears their slightly understaffed at the moment. We were directed to a table by a pleasant hostess where we were provided menus and a request of drinks by our waiter. Upon his leaving the bus-person dropped a container of a mayonnaise dipping sauce which splashed on my wife, her blouse and the bench. I'd estimate 3 tablespoons of sauce actually stuck. She then came over and started wiping her with a house towel she used to clean the tables then handed her coaster napkins, so she could clean herself. I tried helping her, but there was too much. She went to the restroom to try to make herself presentable, but there was too much. We considered calling the manager, but decided to see how this would play out. The waiter seemed puzzled as to why we weren't ready to order and though knowing what happened was obtuse to the needs of his customer. Meanwhile a different bus person started cleaning another table where he placed the tub on the seat and cleared the table in an experienced fashion. I don't know if the first one was new hire or just too hurried. We ordered a chicken taco salad and chicken fajitas. Both were excellent. They did forget to provide avocado but that was quickly resolved. The fajitas were in a cast iron pan that was screaming hot, just like it should be. The taco salad was in a crispy flour taco shell and was substantial. I required Gluten-free requirements for my fajitas and even though Gluten-free is listed in large letters on their menu the staff seem ignorant of the term. This is not overly surprising with my restaurant experiences, but usually if it's listed on the menu the staff isn't generally confused by the term. The food here I would give a solid 4 and would go 5 if the proper condiments were presented to the table as well as improved presentation. The staff on the other hand I'd have to go 2.5 at best for making sure their customer is taken care of. This dinner ended the evening for us as new clothes were in order. As well as hand washing clothing articles. Yes, we could have demanded to see the manager, but we both concurred that we should review the restaurant and the staff as trained. Come here for good food, but don't dress up until they resolve some personnel issues. read more

As far as eateries in myerstown, this is about as good as one can expect. As of this writing they offer a lunch special of the day that is a full $3 cheaper than normal. It's a solid deal, and will keep this place in my lunch rotation. They do also have a full bar, and a margarita of the day (inside only for some reason). There are three distinct dining areas, each unique. Upstairs is nice and clean, downstairs has the crazy Mexican tiles on the floor and is a little darker...feels more like a bar, and outside is fairly well shaded and great for a day with a slight breeze. Furniture seemed quality in all three locations, and is fat guy approved. Food was fast and delicious. No, it's not the same as an authentic Mexican place, but for a chain this one is doing it pretty damn well. read more

Maybe the worst meal I've had in 20 years. I sat at the bar which only had 2 other guys, including one burley looking guy who was dressed like a woman but I won't get into that. The bartender Maria was very nice but she was working with a short deck. I asked for sangria but the had none. All the had was red wine by the glass so I asked for Pinot Noir but they didn't have that either so I ended up with merlot. The chips & salsa were fine except for the white dip which I've never seen before. It was like a liquid sour cream, horrible. I ordered a chiaroscuro steak with fried plantains. You know how you drive around Lancaster and get a whiff of the manure? If manure had a taste it would be my chiaroscuro. Absolutely the worst thing I ever tasted. The plantains were greasy too and so were the shrimp they put on top of the steak. What fried shrimp were doing there I don't know. They were undesirable too, I limited my meal to the chips & salsa. I had everything wrapped with the intent to bring it home for my dog. When I got home I unwrapped the leftovers and got another whiff of the steak. At that moment I realized I should have bummed a can of his Alpo. I would have been better off. I ended up throwing the leftovers in the trash with a bow to avoid that place like the plague read more
