This is a little cafe/bar on Monton high street that serves beer and breakfast at the same time! Win win! We came for a brew a few weeks ago and the coffees were bigger than my face! So we came again this morning for brunch to learn that full English breakfast is severed until 2pm. Excellent! And at less than £6 for a full fry up, there's no complaints from me! read more

I really enjoyed my night at Playfoots in Monton. The place felt like an independent bar that you'd find along Burton Road in West Didsbury but with a much friendlier and down to earth crowd drinking there. The bar is very small and cosy and the tables and seats are all wooden. They have an extensive wine list and a few craft beers on tap. A nice place for a relaxed drink if ever you are in the Monton area. read more

So this is in Monton village. On the high street. Monton is a little Mecca for some fabulous little up and coming bars and restaurants. It had a little shabby chic feel. It also Has a taste of didsbury village (but not as stuck up) ha. I can say that I was a regular lol. It's also not as "earth mother" trendy as Chorlton. I do like it and it's definitely a grower which is never a bad thing!! So this little cafe is on the corner across from Tesco. There is a dodgy pub across the road so overt your eyes!! There is seating inside and out. I have only been here for breakfast and they do a cracking, Large sized cup of tea. Also I was little fussy asking for a bespoke brekkie so me and my lad could share but they accommodated us no problem. The staff are lovely and friendly and pay attention to cleaning up and keeping a nice flow. It is good if you in a group and need a hangover cure or sat in a couple or even on your own for people watching. I advise sitting in the window for a good old gander lol I had gorgeous eggs on toast. Toast just done to perfection. Eggs need a minute longer but still delicious. My lad had a sausage and a good sized one. Again nothing to complain about. If you in at lunch they do serve booze if you fancy a little tipple and the wine looked delicious although I was being a good parent and driving so just tea for me. I had an epic sausage sandwich and a great cappuccino as the doors opened of a Thursday morning. The bar didn't smell pubby despite it clearly being an all day yesterday place. The team were friendly, the atmosphere is cosy and I'll definitely back to sample some of their draft beers. The world needs more brave independents like Playfoots and I'm happy to support read more
