My suggestion was actually a hit. I did my indecisive alterego very proud. There are many quality club nights organised by the Lost and Found name and this was no exception. Dance off, being £1 entry, sold it for me. Doubles for £3, a range of sambucas £1.50? Messy. Dance off saw a battle between three major DJs, strangerways, good vibrations and juicy DJs playing a mix of Joy Division, The Temptations and Dr Dre. Amazing combination. Ruby Lounge is renown for it's quality club nights and live music. The venue is perfect, with an adequate dance floor, a stage to match and plenty of seating on a slightly raised level for a chill out. Another great Northern Quarter location that needs to become a regular thing for me.

The gig was billed as The Cribs Aftershow but it was basically just a gig- most of the spectators were either in one of the four bands, looked like they should be or were girl groupies who were way too impressed with themselves that they were getting backstage. The sofas and high backed armchairs in the main bar area were nice touches, there were a few mirror balls around too. Plus velvet curtains - hello, strip club? Then you turn to the grimy stage area with the big grill up between the bands and the crowd. That said, no one went past the pillar anyway. Too cool to stand right at the front. Alright drinks prices - get some of their cheap vodka mixers or flavoured sambucas otherwise you'll run out of money quickly. After the bands they had Gareth Brooks from Xfm DJIng but we didn't end up staying.

They have a great 2 for 1 cocktails offer every day until 9pm now, which a lot of locals have started to take advantage of as the normal price is £6. The cocktails themselves are well made, and although the cocktail menu isn't very long, the staff will happily deal with requests. It's a good start to your night.

Mine was a butternut squash, re-fried beans and mozzarella creation. It was pretty nice and came wth some very tasty wedges. The meal itself was very filling and large for a sandwich (not that I'm complaining about too much food..we just had planned to get takeaway later on and didn't realise how big they were) Overall I would say this place is good not great. I prefer it as a place to drink but that's my opinion (and preference for eating greasy burgers). I will be going here again at some point, probably next time I feel like a few cocktails.

This didn't bother us so we ordered coffee and orange juice and settled in. The food turned up a lot sooner than expected. I had eggs baked in a clay pot with flat bread and he had a full English. Mine was excellent, great for something a little bit different than usual breakfast options. The runny yolks sealed the deal. I'd love to head back soon to try the non-breakfast options (and perhaps some more of the beer and cocktails).

Between the Bloody Mary the hearty eggs, sausage, bacon, hash browns and so on...I left in far better shape than I arrived. That was the extend of my experience- which seems a shame as there is a lot to do here (billiards, terrace- karaoke - they told us). I don't know that I would say this will become me Sunday recovery go-to place, but I will likely return and check it out under different circumstances.

They launched three new variants - studio 54, all cocktails popularised in the 70's, Mexican/tiki themed cocktails and my personal favourite Prohibition. I had cocktails st Blackdog quite a few times and they never disappoint and these be additions to menu are very welcome in my opinion. We had some rather fantastic Manhattens, Sazeracs, and a New York sour -the standout drink for me. A traditional whisky sour topped with red wine, sounds crazy but it's fantastic. Next time I'm looking for somewhere to drink cocktails and chat to some very knowledgeable mixologists I'll be popping along here.

So, when at the conclusion of a late dinner (catching up with an old school friend) a few weeks ago the subject of Shisha came up, I didn't need too much convincing, After an unsuccessful venture into Buddha bar around 12:30am when they'd run out of Shishas (odd?) we decided to head to Manchester's Shisha capital (Rusholme) The quality of the various Shisha bars along the Curry Mile has gone up exponentially since the seedy looking haunts that started popping up over a decade ago. It's difficult to miss 360 Lounge as you walk along Wilmslow road past Beirut, the bright green lights along the side wall are impossible to miss. A shisha and coffee came to a reasonable £15 between the three of us and there was plenty to go around. The atmosphere was relaxed and the crowd was pleasent. If Zouk is closed, don't be shy venturing to these parts for Shisha.

The restaurant is the Media City location and located off the water in Salford so that already creates a whole ambience and vibe. The staff was super friendly, and we decided to sit at the bar. The bartender was also very helpful and patient with us. Along with that, she was knowledgeable about the drinks and definitely put on a show when making them. This made for an overall great experience! There's such a wide variety of cocktails to choose from, as I literally wanted everything on the menu lol. I decided to go for the hipflask margarita as I love me some tequila and margaritas, and this drink did not disappoint! It wasn't what I was expecting as a margarita, like I'd get in the states, but it was delicious. On top of that it comes in a super cool hipflask that you get to take home with you, and if you come back I believe the bartender said you could get £5.50 off of it each time you bring it back. I'm not quite sure what my aunt got as she told the bartender to just make her a strong drink but it was super cool and came with a cool bubbly effect. There was also a syringe shooter that came with this drink. I tried that one as well and it was another great cocktail. The other cocktail we ordered was the raspberry ripple and again that was great. And I'll be honest I was hesitant about the buttermilk chicken, but I was pleasantly surprised, and that chicken was so good along with the salt and pepper fries. I needed another order that for myself lol. If you're ever in Salford, you should check them out! I love their whole concept behind their drinks, and it's a whole vibe. I know they will definitely be first on my list to hit up when I go back as I'd love to try some more of their drinks.
