This place was highly recommended by some very picky friends, so had to go. Great easy to walk to location from nearby hotels. Was seated immediately close to the bar. Very friendly staff when you could get a hold of one. We waited about 20 mins before anyone brought us a menu another 15 or so till they took our drink orders and another 20 mins before we were able to call over someone to take our order. Once we had our food and beer it was all good from there. Great food nice and hot. The wings here are absolutely delicious of your used to wings covered in sauce you won't get it here the sauce is drizzled on. Ordered the sharing platter for two cause well I can. The food is great and I am proud to say I finished it unlike my buddy. Who struggled ! They had a few beers on tap and were out of most of them so you should not even bother planning for that. I heard out side is nice but I was focused inside trying to get someone to notice me. From what I could hear it was noisy lot of kids outside. So yep that's it. I decided to come here for a bite to eat after work, my colleague said it had been refurbished. When we approached it looked inviting , a nicely lit beer garden where you could plane-spot and you could smell the strong scent of paint as you walked in. I have to say, I was uber impressed with the level of service, A little bit wooden but nevertheless we would get things signposted. I.e your meal is arriving soon, how is your meal, would you like another drink. As for the food, again this is a solid 3 star. The food reflected the modern twist of the place, I thought it was very creative having propellors dangiling from the ceiling,and other plane parts to creat seating facilities. The menu offered hot dogs, burgers and other generic pub food, I decided to have the catfish sandwich with potato fries. My colleagues chose the hot dog and beef burger. When it arrived it was nicely presented and everyone was happy with the quality and taste. I really enjoyed mine but I need exciting foods in my life, so I find generic comfort foods quite boring and easily forgetable. These cleared I spotted my archiles heel...cheesecake! the blueberry cheese cake was soon ordered followed by a toffee one and a chocolate brownie. When it arrived it looked pretty , but the blackberries confused me..the taste was dissappointing because it tasted iceland bought and there was no fruit running through it...it was a plain vanilla cheesecake.. my friends toffee one was much tastier.. Overall , its a nice cool looking venue, I woudln't come out of my way to get here, but I guess its worth checking out the decor.. food is good but again not creative enough for me, ..but again the service is impeccable. read more

Ah the irony of landing the jet early this morning only to come to the Airport Pub for supper. The decor is second to none. Friendly staff; Beth took care of the three of us. The food menu is great. My Atc Tower Burger was awesome. Good highlands beef cooked medium. The pizza was good. The wings and cheese fries tasted like microwave. The beer selection wasn't great. The Airport Pub is a wonderful redesigned pub which has seen a fantastic transformation from a dark and a bit of a dive to a really trendy place to go. It is now a really cool place with the whole place oozing aviation from the propeller lights to the stainless steel chairs, bar and you can even sit in a turbine! The menu consisted of burgers, hot dogs, sandwiches, steaks and more than enough to please anyone and everything is very reasonably priced. There was also a vast selection of beers to choose from and again very well priced for this kind of place. I had the pulled pork sandwich which was pork shoulder cooked low and slow in there secret marinade for 6 hours until beautifully tender, on a soft brioche bun with sides of BBQ beans, coleslaw & sweet potato fries. The pork seemed quite watery to me and unfortunately not the best pulled pork sandwich i have had, the beans weren't great neither so i think they need to look into remaking this, I think ill go for something else next time. The staff were fantastic and couldn't do enough to help. The main reason to visit this place though is to see the planes at the back of the pub in the huge garden. You can get to see all the planes coming into land and take off and you can get really close. It was amazing when we got to see the Emirates a380 getting ready to take off - that plane is massive! The Airbus A380 arrives at 11:20am and 18:35pm and takes off at 13:20pm and 20:25pm, there is more than enough planes to look at with one taking off at least every minute. If you want to get to see the Atlantic carriers these tend to set off in the mornings though the pub is open from 7:30am. It will also be great in the summer when you can just sit on the large terrace or the garden with many places to sit and with a bar and a snack bar outside it makes it even easier to enjoy. There is a fee for the car park but its very reasonably priced. you can also get here on the tram from many places around the City, just get off at Shadowmoss Road and its a 5-10 minute walk from there. Well done on the revamp Robinsons it is now a more inviting place to go, especially in the summer when it will be packed and it is open from dawn until night serving breakfast, lunch and dinner! Robinson have recently revamped this old pub turning it into an 'airo' themed bistro. What use to be an old 'plane' pub had been made to look like a first class place to eat, drink and to watch aircraft land and take off from Manchester Airport. I walked in expecting a few locals to be sat at the bar and the vast open spaces I remember since being a young boy. How shocked I was to see the new decor and a lady stood awaiting us asking if we where dining or not. The plan was to eat anyway, but I had planned that I was going to have good old chunky chips and a pint whilst being a geek and watching a few planes land. Instead I found my self sat at a table ordering a mouth watering pulled pork sarnie with sweet potato chips whilst taking in the new and actually ace decor. Myself and my friends all enjoyed our food!! The staff looked excited about their new brand and their knowledge of the food and craft beers sounded experienced. The food was great. The beers where great and the whole experience was great. The outside still remains the same and I can well imagine in summer this place will be a buzz of excitement and will do great! Prices are a little on the up side but it's always good to treat yourself now and again. I'll be back here soon. Their Facebook and Twitter pages look good - it suggests you book a table if you wish to dine and I think if your traveling a distance to eat here, that would be a good idea beforehand. 4* from me! :) read more

We went here for some food prior to seeing my other half's sister off as she left for New Zealand for 18 months. The distance the pub is from the airport is very practical however having to pay to park is a little bit excessive but you can kind of understand it. It could be a little cheaper though. I did quite like the location at the end of the runway meaning you can watch the planes take off though (yes I'm 6 leave me alone...) My parents had told me about the decor having visited on their way to going away for Christmas a couple of weeks earlier, so I kind of feared the inside would be a little tacky but arrived to find a pretty nice place. There was an ok selection of beer and a decent cocktail menu, although I was driving so I had a Diet Coke (rock and f*cking roll!) A couple of our party ordered coffee which they really did not enjoy. After the waitress noticed they hadn't drank them she asked if they didn't like it, they said no and then she let us know they had ran out of their regular coffee and had served something else. To be honest I thought that was quite odd, they should have mentioned that upfront instead of just trying to serve something else and hope we wouldn't notice. Food wise, the 6 of us shared a bread and olives for 2 starter alongside a nachos for 2 starter. They were quite nice and easily went around the 6 of us. I had their best seller ATC tower burger and the others had a pizza, another burger, a fried chicken crate and fish crate for 2. My burger was nice enough but it was very much a 'pub burger' and the chips were huge and again, nice enough. The chicken crate was decent and a lot of food, the fish crate was apparently decidedly average. I think the pizza and other burger went down similar to mine. All in all the food was OK and I wouldn't complain but given the amount of items on the menu I think I was mislead into thinking the place was on a different level to most average pubs, then again maybe the number of items is the problem, doing less items better would definitely make for an improvement. It wouldn't take much to make this place pretty good. Given the location it's not like I'll be choosing to visit again through just wanting a bite but if another trip to the airport to see someone off is required, I'd be fine eating there again. read more

I'm not going to repeat what others have already written. I didn't know this place existed, never mind had been revamped. We took my son, daughter-in-law and their two little girls there as the eldest was two yesterday and loves cars, bikes, lorries...and 'planes. This is the perfect place for our family, I just wish it were nearer! The Birthday Girl loved the 'planes flying in every few minutes and the play area, especially the bouncy castle. She also loved being made a fuss of when the staff brought her a bowl of ice-cream with two candles in! (Totally their idea). My wife and I are members of CAMRA and were really impressed by the real ales and the barman's knowledge of them - unfortunately, I can't find the pub on the official CAMRA beer scoring site - quite an omission! There was a particularly nice Robinson's stout, described as "with a hint of vanilla", which had more than a hint of liquorice. The food really is as good as others have said; this is possibly the only time I have ever ordered a "burger" when out and I struggled to eat so much meat in one go! As others have stated, the decor and service were top notch. I had the BBQ Meat Crate...the ribs were on par with a respected joint in the states, but the corn, baked beans, pulled pork, and wings were average at best. The Caesar salad was awesome until I bit into an anchovy (hate fish), but that's just me and isn't something I'm accustomed to back home. My coworker had the fish crate and really enjoyed it. The beer was cold and they had a good bottle and draught selection, I enjoyed the Veltins Pilsner and was surprised to see Brooklyn Lager on tap. Overall four stars for the ambiance, service, ribs, and beer...a pleasant Thanksgiving experience away from home. read more

Arriving at supper time we found the car park full and drove around until somebody left. We went in and had a meal and an hour later we left. The food was reasonable but a little bit pricey, and the service was good. As we left the Car Park one my passengers said there was a sign saying Park and Display, something I have never seen in a pub car park before. Guess what, a £100 bill was sent to the rental car company for this 1 hour 7 minute parking. What a rip off. I for one will never go back to this pub, or any other Robinson's pub, so long term they will lose a lot more than the outrageous £100 they gouged me for ! I notice on Trip Advisor that a lot of people have had this £100 fee and are equally annoyed. read more

A mixed bag here. The Good - For sheer convenience to get to and from the airport, you can't complain. A few minutes in the car or a 10 minute walk. Great for plane spotting if that's your thing - Really very attractive inside. I'd been told that it was 'airport themed' which honestly sounded cheesy and grim. However the whole place is very classy and nicely done, with small nods to flying rather than a whole novelty theme, eg the table reservation card was set out sort of like a boarding pass, the menu items are named after different countries - Staff were really great. When we first arrived we had to wait quite a while for a drink because there was one person on the bar who was taking an age to make cocktails, but it picked up after that point. Our waitress went out of her way to help, eg taking various photos of our group, giving us detailed directions to walk to the airport, offering to book taxis etc. - Some of the food was really nice. Nachos were a huge tasty portion although they could probably have done without the measly portion of pulled pork. Hummus, olives and bread were also nice. My sister got a pizza and enjoyed it - I had an Aperol Spritz and really enjoyed it The Not So Good - My mum and sister ordered coffees and they were disgusting. Really horrible. They didn't complain but left them untouched and when the waitress spotted this she acknowledged that it was really bad coffee. She told us that it was because they'd ran so were using some cheap stuff. This is fair enough but it was really truly disgusting - they could definitely have got something nicer at short notice and maybe given us a heads up when we ordered - My mum and I shared the fish 'crate'. This had breaded catfish, garlic prawns, and scampi with chips, coleslaw, and beans. It wasn't bad but it definitely wasn't good either. Prawns tasted of nothing. Scampi was very hard. Chips were only just cooked. Beans (which looked to be an interesting mix) were pretty tough. We didn't finish this and weren't very impressed Overall, it was a good venue for my sister's farewell meal, and while I won't rush back, I'd go back again in similar circumstances. read more

Yet again here one hand doesn't know what the other is doing, came here near to the time it re-opened and had food. My partner ordered the veggie crate which they don't do anymore, it came with bbq beans which were supposed to be vegetarian, as my partner is vegetarian this is obviously very important. When the bbq beans came she ate some of them and was surprised by the texture, she asked me if I thought they had meat in them and so I asked the staff who had to ask the chef, turns out they had meat in them. Obviously we were pretty shocked and appalled by this, it was disgraceful, the only saving grace was they gave us our food for free which was probably the least they could do for such a dreadful oversight. So, a year later I finally get my partner to agree to try the food again cos we were there and we do like to visit regularly in the summer, although a lot less recently after that incident. I ask at the bar at around 8pm what time they finish serving food and they say 9:30, I made sure that it was 9:30 the latest point to order food and he assured me this was correct so we went outside and drank our drinks. 25 minutes later we head inside to get a table so we can get some food and are told by a Scottish lady that they've stopped serving food, I explain that the guy at the bar had told as 9:30 was the last point for ordering food so I was confused as to why she was now saying at 8:25 that they were not doing any food and was told in a disinterested way that they had been busy today and so were stopping serving food earlier because they'd been busy!!?? Do they close the pub early when they're busy, probably not? So after waiting such a long time after an extremely disgraceful and dissatisfying first attempt at eating at the airport public house I have again left on the second attempt with a similar dissatisfaction both times due to the disorganisation of the staff at this establishment which has left me doubting I'd ever visit again. On a plus side at least they removed the vegetarian symbol from next to the BBQ Beans, I wonder how many other Vegetarians had unwittingly eaten meat before that was spotted. read more

I had the black and bleu burger, sorry this is why 3 stars, the burger had to be a frozen pre made one as that is what the consistency of it felt like. The accompaniments to it were very good though.
