The lovely dining room and staff make this pub a must visit. We visited with the family and was delighted with the food, the atmosphere and the service. To cap it all it is also great value.
We had an array of items from the menu sampling their steak & chips, sausages & mash, steak & kidney pudding and a Ballantyne of chicken. We also had 'chicken nuggets' for our daughter but were encouraged by the footnote in the menu that they are freshly made with 100% chicken breast. The beer was good and I understand the coffee not only was excellent but was also incredibly well priced.
The pub (chain of which the Legh Arms on the way to Poynton is in the same chain) is clearly trying to break away from the 'pop-up pub' mould; introducing fresh local produce to it's menu and empowering their staff to be themselves and not carbon copies of their corporate training manual.
Free wifi is available using the code from the chalkboard on the bar - always an added bonus! There is also a children's play area but the weather prohibited us from trying it out. We will be back! read more
