Birthday celebration turned into a major disappointment…read more I chose Arcade Monsters for my 41st birthday after calling and visiting beforehand to ask about the bar. I specifically asked whether they served Tito's vodka with soda and lime and was told they had a full bar. That was a deciding factor in booking. During the party, drinks were served without anyone explaining that the "liquor" was wine-based. I only learned that after ordering my third drink. My guests and I had been led to believe they were getting actual spirits, and it was embarrassing to have to explain the difference after the fact. The food was just as disappointing. The chicken nuggets were so bad we threw them away, and a guest told me their child became sick after eating the pizza. The private room was hot, and the fans blew napkins and other things around the table. I spent more than $800 on the room, food, drinks, admission, and fees. The only part of the event that went as expected was admission. I contacted management to request a refund for the non-admission charges and have not received a response to my follow-up asking what they intend to do. This was supposed to be a special birthday celebration. Instead, the bar was misrepresented, the food was poor, the room was uncomfortable, and management has left my complaint unanswered. I would not book a private event here again.

The floor manager was extremely rude and dismissive toward customers, including my group. Instead of being welcoming or helpful, he came across as hostile and unprofessional, which made us feel uncomfortable the entire time. It's honestly shocking to see that kind of treatment in a place that relies on repeat customers and a social environment. The owner seriously needs to reevaluate who is representing the business on the floor. A manager sets the tone for the entire establishment, and right now, it's driving people away. If this continues, I wouldn't be surprised if the business starts losing customers. There's a lot of potential here, but it won't matter if people don't feel respected when they walk in.

Westside Sports Bar & Lounge- West Melbourne, FL 4.5 Stars…read more "Ask not what you can do for your country. Ask what's for lunch." - Orson Welles Glancing down at my name generator, I couldn't help but chuckle a bit. I was headed to West Melbourne to check out Westside Sports Bar & Lunge. I was chuckling as in my mind it's still the 80s and West Melbourne is a wasteland, not the teeming metropolis it is today. Shaking my head, I headed OTB. I love my sleepy little island community, but even I had to admit that the Melbourne Metropolitan Area has grown leaps and bounds and I like it. More businesses are moving in and that means, yep, you guessed it, more eating establishments. To that end, I pulled into the lot of Westside Sports Bar & Lounge, parked and went about the business of providing the working public with unsullied food reviews. I was greeted warmly upon entering a lovely lady who introduced herself as Mandy. Mandy is my bartender, waitress and cook today and she has to be the most non-oleaginous person I have met wearing all of these hats In fact, she was quite the opposite exuding the patina of a bar warrior. I asked Mandy for a single malt, neat, one Cheeseburger (medium-rare), one order of 6 Wings (medium heat) and a Philly Cheesesteak. As Mandy turned to get to work on my grub, I took a moment to take in the joint. I love coming to bars early, you can smell the stale alcohol and fun from the night before. Mandy returned with my Scotch and I must say, it looked like a good 3 oz pour...very generous. As I am 163 days sober, I won't be tasting it, but what a bang for your buck. The place is loaded with fun games and had a classic inviting bar atmosphere (think local watering hole). Mandy soon returned with my standard bar fare and I turned my attention to the job at hand. While the food may have been the standard found in Sports Bars across this great land of ours, this was far from ordinary. The Cheeseburger was cooked to a perfect rare and served on a grilled bun (my favorite kind of bun). The onions, lettuce and tomato were all garden fresh and generously applied with just the right amount of mayo. The wings were cooked to perfection and the sauce had just the right amount of "oomph" to know you had a bit of heat in your mouth. There was a complex mix of sweet, tangy and heat that made my taste buds do a little shimmy. Moving on to the Philly Cheesesteak I paused to take in the perfect symmetry the sandwich presented. The meat was perfectly cooked, the bun seasoned and grilled and the whole thing was flawlessly executed. The Big Boy says, "If you're looking for a place to hang your hat for a bit, hunker down with some good grub and drinks with friends, look no further than Westside Sports Bar & Lounge." #bigboydiningout

Excellent Smoked Wings and Great Happy Hour Spot…read more Stopped by Broken Barrel Tavern at Palm Bay Road and Babcock and had a great experience. Service was prompt and friendly, and the happy hour specials made it an even better value. I ordered the wing basket with 8 smoked wings and onion petals. The onion petals were crispy, flavorful, and paired perfectly with the spicy remoulade sauce. For the wings, I tried both the Carolina Vinegar and the Hot Garlic flavors. The smoked wings themselves were outstanding, and the Hot Garlic sauce was especially memorable because it featured real garlic, which added incredible flavor. These are definitely wings I will come back for and highly recommend to anyone visiting. My partner ordered the BBQ pulled pork quesadillas with seasoned fries. The fries were more like freshly cut chips, nicely seasoned and delicious, and the quesadillas were excellent as well. Overall, Broken Barrel Tavern delivered great food, quick service, and a relaxed atmosphere. If you're in the Melbourne area and looking for outstanding smoked wings, this place is absolutely worth a visit. We'll definitely be back.

Went for lunch on a Friday and they had two servers and only one working the dining area. We sat in the very dark dining area. Every surface was painted black. Lighting was pretty poor and it was hard to read the menus. Ordered a pulled pork platter and a pulled pork sandwich. They both came with "fried chips" and the platter had another side and we chose beans. Bourbon Bbq sauce was our choice. The pork was good. Good portions on both sandwich and platter. Beans had some "heat" which I don't favor but my son really liked. The chip fries or fried chips - whichever they call them were seasoned with a garlic salt it tasted like. However they could have used about another minute I the fryer. The bigger ones were raw in the middle. May have been a byproduct of a large party in their event room throwing off their timing. But if cooked a bit more they would be a unique side for the area and good. Server was stretched thin. Freshens my son's drink but not mine until he brought the check. By then meal was over. I had water. Not difficult. Rib special looked good from a distance and I heard they are known for wings. Maybe next time. Noticed there is a private room for events that most restaurants do not have. So a point to consider.
