I also liked how there was a lot of granola not only on top of the bowl, but also layered inside so that every bit has some crunch to it. Plus there was enough fruit to have a piece on almost every Acai spoonful. However I do think there was not nearly enough PB or strawberry jams drizzle on the bowl, and I was disappointed that this particular store was out of the PB Protein Crumble that would have normally gone on top. The person making the bowl offered a free add-on substitute to replace it, but in the end I felt like there just wasn't as much PB flavor as I would have liked. I'm not even the biggest fan of Acai Bowls but am totally addicted to Playa Bowls as they offer different bases other than acai such as coconut, strawberry, and more! My favorite is the Cupids Bowl which was a special for Valentines that they are still running. This is such a great spot when you want an açaí fix. I am amazed at how many options they have here. They also have a nice selection of smoothies to choose from. I've been here twice so far. The first time I tried a seasonal bowl with a mango base, and my second time I tried then electric mermaid with a pitaya base. Both were phenomenal, but I think the electric mermaid will be a go to order for me from now on. The fruit is all so fresh and delicious. The vibe here is beachy and chill. I love the artwork on the walls. Service has been quick even though it seems like they are always pretty busy between online orders and people coming in. I think the prices here are great considering the bowls are large. My electric mermaid was $13, and I paid the same price for a bowl half that size when I was in Hawaii. read more

Best acai and best prices. I love that there are a variety of bases you can choose from. It's not just a classic acaí base. I really enjoy their kale base, and they allow you to do half/half with two different bases. In my opinion, granola can make or break an acai bowl. Their granola at Playa Bowls is amazing! It's perfectly crunchy and flavorful. There are dried blueberries mixed into it which adds a nice touch. Playa Bowls has a preset menu with suggested bowls but you can also customize your own bowl from scratch which is what I usually do. The staff is friendly. They offer a nice rewards program that gives you discounts on bowls and smoothies. The one thing that I have noticed is an issue with consistency. Sometimes, my bowls will be thinner and sometimes the bowls are not filled up all the way, other times they are piled to the brim. Overall, a great place for an acai bowl (or smoothie)! read more

Went once before rated it 4 stars and immediately contacted by Roxanne their manager to find out more. It's this genuine interest in the customer's experience that made me go back. So we did and the açaí bowl was perfect-- not only was the fruit, coconut flakes fresh, but the açaí itself tasted fresh and had no aftertaste. We also had the aloha smoothie and it was delicious! Ordered the Pura Vida bowl & added almond butter. The açaí mixture itself was not bad (wasn't great either) but the granola tasted strongly of artificial sweetener! Literally tasted like those awful lil pink fake sugar packets. Blech! While the strawberries on top were good, as was the almond butter, one out of every 3 blueberries was a mush. I get the pura vida and always ask to sub the blueberry for more strawberry and sometimes they only fill half the bowl with strawberry when i asked for extra strawberry basically, and then they just slack on the toppings. sometimes it's amazing and fill other times it's so lacking and it's disappointing and i can't fully enjoy it. I love that you can customize so I usually go for a 50-50 mix of açaí and green and go with the power bowl which has chocolate protein powder mixed in, especially on heavy leg days. There really is something for everyone based on taste, for example, I do not like the textures of bananas and there were lots of bowls that did not have any banana pieces in it.
