Nutella Bowl

This business is so great and the bowls are amazing and the workers are so kind and listen to the customers so I def recommend!:)

8th ave bowl
Briana W.

This is a really good playa bowls location. The ambiance has a very beachy/LA vibe, as I think most playa bowls are supposed to have. I suggest the 8th ave bowl which is a classic acai bowl, the pure vida is also very good. For both bowls I suggest peanut butter on top. The bowls are a little sugary. You can tell there is a lot of sugar added into the acai blend. My only con is that they do melt fast and they are a little expensive. The average bowl is $10-11 dollars. This is a busy location. I've gone on a Friday evening and Saturday mid day and it was pretty busy both time.

Delicious! Had the Lola Green Bowl for the first time... Perfect! Would definitely recommend!

a bowl of strawberries and oatmeal

All I have to say is this is my go to spot for acai bowls or pitaya bowls. I am always cautious when deciding to go elsewhere because it is never as good. My go to order is the 8th ave with added strawberries. My first bite of this and I was hooked, even ordering through doordash to get my acai fix in. The fruits are always very fresh and the acai portion itself is never watery. The consistency is nice and thick making it satisfying to scoop with a spoon. I love the high energy inside from all of the workers that give me such a nice feeling when I leave. This place isn't popular for no reason and it is not all hype!

half green half chai base, with chia tells toppings of granola, banana, strawberry, nutella, and coconut shreds

WHOA! Go here on a fully empty stomach these bowls are power packed. I just made it thru half of my bowl and I feel sooo full. I had the half green half chia base w/ Chiatella toppings (coconut shavings, nutella, granola, strawberries and bananas). The $8 bowl is PACKED, so with the first few bites it's hard to get to the base on your spoon without spilling. You will inevitably eat the fruit first to get to the bottom, which is probably why I'm feeling super full cuz I had all that banana first :P Take a good look at their menu - you'll need like 30min to decide from all the combinations and permutations. Service is friendly and interior is very pretty (IG friendly lolz). Kitchen staff was efficient, neat and clean. They have some games near tables like Connect four and Jenga which is nice touch! I don't think it's best spot to sit down and work (kitchen noise, loud music) but certainly a great spot hang to catch up w/ a friend or a quick date! Would totally recommend this place!! I don't eat these health bowls regularly but when I'm the mood I'll certainly stop by here.

Playa Bowls is clean, spacious, and most importantly, the fruits they use are fresh and sweet. the location is a short of a walk from the rest of Downtown Ridgewood but still very accessible. Parking is hit or miss, but that goes for most Ridgewood establishments. Initially my sister and I ordered one bowl to share. We went for the Lola Green Bowl. The green base of kale, banana, pineapple, and coconut milk blended the flavors of all its components well. It was then topped with granola, pineapple, mango, coconut flakes, and honey. These toppings added some interesting texture and sweetness to the mix. A solid bowl all things considered. After enjoying that green bowl together my sister spotted a special on the board that had an ingredient called "Blue Magic". That sounded amazing so we opted to share yet another bowl. I couldn't tell you what went in the blue mixture but it was indeed blue and it tasted...okay. The toppings for the blue bowl included strawberries, bananas, peanut and almond butters, and bee pollen. The toppings of this bowl were good and I certainly enjoyed it. Throughout the whole time I couldn't shake the feeling of "I could probably make this at home". That certainly doesn't mean these bowls are bad by any means, they're actually quite good. For me personally though, I probably wouldn't come here unless I'm with someone that wants to go. If you're a big fan of acaí bowls and the like, you will very likely love this place.

I don't know why it's taken me so long to review Playa but here I am! I've been to this location a handful of times and I don't know if I just get "lucky" and get there when there are many people there but mannnnn do they stay busy. I remember one time they actually pulled an employee who just wanted some Playa on their day off off the line to go work behind the scenes! Their decor inside is really cute and there's plenty of space. It's always clean and well maintained which is appreciated. The parking is iffy (they do have a lot but it only offers a few spaces) which is the norm for this area. Now onto the food! Their ingredients is fressssssh and everything that goes into your bowl is made and prepared right then and there. I've gotten their Pitaya Bowls, Coconut Bowls, and smoothies. So far? No complaint. Though I will say that I prefer their coconut bowls over anything (a little too sweet sometimes but that's my fault for mentioning to lessen some honey here and there). I like the fact that you can switch out things in the bowls without having to pay any extra money. You'll always get great service from all their employees and will always be satisfied with what they make!

Nutella Açaí Bowl
Stephen L.

I went to Playa Bowls the other day and got a Nutella Açaí Bowl. It included strawberries, banana, coconut flakes, granola, Nutella, and the açaí mix. The ingredients were pretty fresh, though it was very difficult to mix them together in the small bowl. This was my first time having an açaí bowl, and it was about as I expected. My main complaint about this place is the fact that it was super noisy with the combination of sounds from the blenders, the music, and the people making it difficult to have a conversation. I went on a Friday afternoon and there was a steady stream of customers the whole time I was there. The service speed was pretty good, as I waited a couple minutes for my food. The place is decorated with a beach theme. Something to note is parking is tough to find. There is a small parking lot in the back, but that is usually full. Overall, my açaí bowl was decent, but the noise level was too high for me. I might try a different place next time.

I love this place as always, the açaí power is the best. but if your looking for smoothies they have that too. they always have fresh stuff and everything is perfect to taste. they staff offers smile every time I come here

nutella bowl substituted strawberries for only bananas .
Crystal C.

i got the nutella bowl substituted the strawberries for just bananas , and this is the amount of nutella given to me . 3 little lines lol . wouldn't have gotten the nutella bowl if i'd known this is how much nutella would be given to me , expected nutella drizzled all over my bananas as the nutella enhances the taste of the bowl by 100% for me . was super excited for my bowl to get to me , to receive this for a NUTELLA bowl . had to add my own nutella to it , super disappointed would've just made my own at home if i knew i'd have to add my own nutella and save myself $13 smh .

My mouth is watering as I watch them prepare

I decided to find out if Playa Bowls was worth all the buzz and Yes it was definitely worth my time and money. I parked my car around the corner because I thought there wasn't parking but they do have a parking lot which is great especially for Ridgewood. Hey I didn't mind walking two minutes. When I walked in I was greeted by some young adults and the ambiance is clean and cool (reminds you of a shore decor). The menu is large and clearly written. You can actually see them prepare your bowl and they are wearing gloves. The service is prompt... no long waits however, there wasn't too much of a crowd (Sunday afternoon). Now the true test.... the entire bowl was fresh! Go check it out!

It was just the three of us, my daughter, my sister in law, and myself, and we were beyond pleased from start to finish. The girls ordered the iced lavender berry matcha latte and the coco cloud matcha smoothie, and they couldn't stop raving about how good they were. I went with the cold pressed Defender juice and the Recharge, both were incredibly fresh and delicious. We decided to share a few plates so we could try a variety, and everything exceeded expectations. The avocado smash, tomato burrata, and spicy ahi tuna, all on gluten free bread, were outstanding. You can truly taste the quality and freshness in every bite. We even ordered the protein waffles for dessert, and they were just as impressive. The ambiance added even more to the experience. The decorations were beautiful and thoughtfully done, and the music created the perfect vibe for a relaxed and enjoyable brunch. What really made the experience unforgettable, though, was the service. Everyone was warm and welcoming, but the manager or owner, not entirely sure, took things to another level. She went above and beyond by surprising my daughter with a granola cake and birthday candle, such a thoughtful touch that meant so much to us. The food alone had me planning our next visit, but the exceptional service moved that timeline up even sooner. Highly recommend!

Blue Mystique: This refreshing smoothie is blended with pineapple, banana, mango, and blue spirulina, which contributes to its solid aqua appearance. If you do prefer an alternative beverage, a variety of shots and juices are also an option. 3 Cheese Italian: It's time to take a virtual trip to Italy with this specialty toast.
