Sooooooo many choices!! Found this place on a whim when I was in the shopping center and saw this place. I did a quick online search and saw what was on the menu and I knew that I had to try it. I came back the next morning for my breakfast. Easy to find parking, there was plenty in the shopping center. The vibe of the place is chill, that makes you feel that you were transported somewhere tropical and hit a local shack to enjoy some good tropical fruit. Lots of different seating, outdoors, indoors, tables, bar type seating. I placed my order with a cashier and didn't have to wait long. Service was okay I did get my order quickly, but no one was super personable. I had some time to kill so I decided to enjoy my electric mermaid bowl indoors and I felt like maybe it wasn't customary for people to sit inside. Nothing outwardly was done but started to not feel super comfortable. Not being paranoid but it was like I was imposing by sitting there. I was by myself...but it's not that strange to eat a bowl alone. I really liked my electric mermaid bowl, ingredients were fresh and flavorful. Purchase was as good as I had hoped. I needed some physical assistance due to a mobility issue, and it was readily provided.

Went here after going to the gym and was craving a cold green drink but I will say I was really disappointed. I'll state both pros and cons of this place : Pro: There is Plenty of parking, it is a clean place with cute beach colors/vibe that makes you want to be on a beach enjoying your drink. They have plenty of seating space. They provide a huge variety, they have smoothies and bowls you can choose from and they also have a cooler with already packed juices and protein bars. The staff was relatively friendly, we did not wait too long to get our food. Cons: They have a huge menu with really yummy sounding options but we ordered a couple of the açaí bowls and a smoothie. Every item we got was sooo sugary, it all had this artificial sweetener taste that I came to doubt if they even use any real fruit in their smoothies or bowls. I was even going to get some of the juices to take home and save for the next day but as soon as I turned the bottles around and saw how much sugar it had, I kindly placed it back on the shelf. We ended up throwing away 80% of what we ordered. This place is also relatively pricy, which is why I originally thought maybe they might provide some fresh items. I love the acai bowls (the Nutella Bowl with a mix of acai and green base is my fav!), but more recently tried their sweet cream cold brew. This drink is the perfect mid-day pick-me-up. It's not too sweet, smooth, and doesn't give off that bitter taste like regular coffee sometimes does. Staff here are friendly and very efficient. There are a few tables outside and inside. I gotta start this review by saying that this is my first "bowl" place so I have nothing to compare it to. Okay that's out of the way. This place is DEELISH! I did a coconut bowl with granola, strawberries and blueberries and it was excellent. The staff were super friendly and the food came out really quickly. I was surprised by the size of the bowl. It has different kinds of fruits, coconut flakes, granola, Nutella, and you can add more at an additional price. The bowl was filling and refreshing in this summer weather. I love that the granola and coconut flakes add crunch to it. The fruits were fresh. The inside of Playa Bowls is pretty! It has cute tropical decorations throughout the store. The bowls I ordered were delicious and healthy, it's just quite pricey though. But I will still come back and try their other bowls. I am thrilled my neighborhood has opened up this fine establishment I usually have to drive to the one in Kensington to get my açaí bowls. The food is fantastic but I didn't not have a pleasant time with customer service. Upon arrival, the front door does not have any signs of wearing a mask compared to other restaurants so my mother and I decided not to since there is no sign to enforce that. I have my interaction with the cashier showing my mother for the first time what is offered here and David a gentleman working behind the counter preparing the food asks us to wear our masks which we complied, no problem. My issue is while waiting for our order, three guests enter the building without a mask and all Caucasian. I notice David working and yet the female cashier doesn't have an issue with guests choosing not to wear a mask. So when David is done making the food, I ask him why he didn't ask the three other guests to wear a mask. Although he didn't notice, and apologized to me, I still felt disrespected and negative start to my Monday. My mother and I are fully vaccinated and I have been living in this area for 6 years. Again the food is fantastic this observation and experience has really illuminated how cross cultural sensitivities and discrimination is still alive. I sat outside the door eating my food and I noticed unmasked guests entering the building and not wearing one once inside. Also my mother found a hair bottom of her bowl and once I saw it I spoke to the manager privately , apparently its David and he made us a new one and refunded me my money. Very disappointed with the service. I visited the store to place an order at 7:58 and The cashier greeted me by asking if I was picking up an order at which point I said no but conveyed that I'd like to place an order. She responded by saying that since they close at 8:00 they had cleaned up everything and they didn't have anything to make an order, because they had put everything away prior to closing. At which point I responded that the store closes at 8:00 not earlier. The young lady apologized. Coming from a background in food service, I know from experience that you serve customers up until closing. The closing process can start a few minutes before, but only as far as cleaning goes, such as washing dishes and the like.
