    Power Bowl

Good bowls but definitely gives chain restaurant vibes. We tried a couple of the bowls, they acai base is ok, a little sweet but not bad. The Mango base is really sweet and syrupy, which isn't my favorite but some people may like. Just depends on how you like your bowls. HUGE variety of bowl options, which is nice. We also tried a couple of their cold brew options, both were excellent. We also tried some of their pumpkin protein bites, tasty little snacks Staff was all super friendly. They were getting absolutely crushed by the crowd when we came in, but still smiling and churning out bowls.

There are so many smoothie and açaí places in Lexington, but Playa Bowls is the best one in my opinion! The ingredients are fresh and consistent. I've been a few times and have loved everything I tried, especially the Pura Vida Bowl and the oatmeal bowl! They have a massive menu and so many options to choose from. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The inside is spacious and there are seats outside as well.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

So happy to have our very own Playa Bowls in Lexington! I tried the Goldie Mango Bowl, Dolce Latte Smoothie, and Aloha Smoothie. All were very unique and flavorful. Service was very helpful and fast. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The inside is decorated so cute and on theme for the coastal vibe![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Can't wait to try other smoothies and bowls!

First time trying Playa Bowl and I got the Coco Craze at Playa Bowl because I love coconut, and it did not disappoint! It came with crunchy granola, mango, pineapple, dried coconut, honey, and small pieces of frozen blueberry. The combination was incredibly refreshing and perfect for the hot weather right now. The staff was super helpful and nice, making the experience even better. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Even though the environment can be a bit loud, it's always clean and colorful, which adds to the fun atmosphere.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Highly recommend!"

We shared a slice of Martine's Pastry double chocolate cake and wow, it was divine, so rich, fudgy, and absolutely worth the indulgence. The variety of coffee choices was seriously next level! We shared a cup of their decaf espresso and it was smooth, bold, and perfectly balanced. Definitely a spot we'll be revisiting. The staff was friendly and accommodating, and explained how their process worked. Very neat spot.

In addition to coffee, there was an incredible array of teas available as well both for drinking and purchase. The interior space was incredible, large and expansive while maintaining cozy and inviting vibes. Seating options were plentiful, great for studying, hanging out with friends, or even just quickly sitting down to enjoy a cup and snack. The shop area was also quite nice with so many coffee and tea options from all over available fresh as well as various trinkets and jsut fun goodies available for purchase, all at quite honestly some fair prices. Was great for perusing through while sipping on a fantastic cup. The staff were all incredibly friendly, but one area that needed some improvement was just how slow everything was. Not sure where the choke was but the line just refused to move despite not even being that long, and it kept doing this. This was not only at the coffee counter too, even at the store counter at first there was just nobody behind it for quite some time as a line formed and we all just looked around for a worker. And then finally one meandered on up, and while e they were kind and friendly, the service was just oh so slow which was quite frustrating. Besides the slow service though I will say it is a fantastic little spot. Unassuming on the outside but once you walk through the doors such an incredible space full of coffee, tea, and so much fun. Would def recommend (just not if in a rush) and will likely return!

We also had coffees (regular drip for me and an iced latte for him). And I also tried the key lime gimlet. It's made with Castle & Key gin which is a favorite of mine. Ambience was very nice and the food was delicious. I asked for a side of bacon. I am very particular about my bacon and it came out cooked perfectly, crispy but not burnt. Service was fantastic and pleasant. The only criticism I had is that the red onion in my omelet was bitter. But no one's fault, sometimes onions are very astringent. Everything else was delicious and well made. Oh and we got the house made cinnamon roll for the table. This was delicious. So buttery and gooey with cinnamon. We will be back, maybe for dinner to try their dinner menu!

It's enormous (easily shareable between 6+ people) and absolutely delicious. The Sourdough Breakfast Sandwich was a close second at 9/10, a great classic executed really well. The Banana Bread Latte was an 8/10 -- very good but ask for it less sweet. The Iced Cinnamon Bun Latte and Eggs in Heaven both landed at 6/10. The latte sounds incredible on paper but the cinnamon bun flavor didn't quite come through, and while the Eggs in Heaven dish itself is a good concept, my eggs were unfortunately not cooked to my liking. We really enjoyed sitting outside and enjoying our breakfast! Service was good, a little slow but they were very friendly! Overall a great spot with a lot of potential -- the pastry alone is worth the trip. Will definitely be back to try more of the menu!

Kaede Market is a Japanese market and takeout place. My Japanese friend and I are both foodies and…read moreshe highly recommended it to me. I haven't been to the market itself but I can vouch for the take out -- it is authentic, fresh, and 100% tasty. My friend speaks Japanese, so she called a few hours ahead to place the order for pick up later. I had the Katsudon and Gyudon. Katsudon is fried porkcut and eggs over rice. The pork hit the spot. The eggs were soft. I did wish the eggs were a little runny and there was a little had more sauce to add more flavor to my rice. But by all means it was still delicious. Gyudon is the beef bento box, with beef over rice and some sides of pickled veggies and broccoli. The beef was tender and extremely flavorful. The onions and seaweed contributed to the complex flavor of the otherwise plain rice. One complaint I have is the meat-to-rice ratio. In every bowl, there's simply too much rice. Nevertheless, for the unbeatable price ($6.25 for each of the items above; some cost a little more) and authenticity, I would willingly come back again and again. My Japanese friend sees Kaede as a hidden gem that reminded her of home -- a little piece of Japan right here in Lexington!
