I did extensive research before I brought my car into Playa. I read the reviews of this place from 10 different sources because I don't trust just one review site. Every source had multiple reviews from credible reviewers (more than one review, etc) that La Playa is an amazing auto care shop. I took the plunge and brought my car to La Playa. I am SO glad I did. Rolando is honest (I know, I know...the words mechanic & honest tend not to go together), friendly and his prices are very reasonable & affordable. He went above and beyond helping me & giving me information and didn't try to trick me into buying services I didn't need. My car is driving perfectly! In Miami, 90% of the mechanics are not trustworthy or crooks. When you find one like La Playa, it's a diamond in the rough. I will promoting him to everyone - it's a happy day when you find a great mechanic in this city!! read more

Always reliable and my go to for 7 years. Highly recommend! The staff is professional and provides amazing service.

If you're looking for a mechanic you can actually trust, do yourself a favor and check out Playa Auto Care. From the moment I walked in, they were professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely cared about making sure I understood what was going on with my car. No confusing jargon, no pressure at all, just honest, clear explanations and solid work. What really stood out to me was the turnaround time. They got everything handled way faster than I expected without cutting any corners. That kind of efficiency plus quality service is rare these days. It's not easy finding an auto shop that makes you feel confident and taken care of, but Playa Auto Care absolutely delivered. I'll definitely be going back, and I highly recommend them to anyone who wants reliable, trustworthy service. 10/10 experience : read more

Honest Mechanics, two words that I would normally not put together but this place earned it. Rolando and his team late very Thorough, but fast. Great value, they get you the parts you need according to your budget. 7 years ago I was looking for a place to change the oil in my car and I found Playa Auto Care, and in my years of dealing with mechanics this places I can truly say I trust. read more

Not much to add to many of the previous reviews- Rolando and the Playa Auto Care are the real deal. We always hope to find a reliable, trustworthy auto mechanic repair shop that we can count on. Rolando and the Playa team are that shop. Rolando treated us like ours was the most important issue in his shop- he had the parts in a matter of hours and had the car fixed shortly after. We won't take our car to anyone else. read more

Conveniently located right off of Biscayne Boulevard and 143rd St is Plata Auto Care run by Rolando and his team. Besides being in the auto repair business and having the experience needed to calm your worries about your car's troubles, he is also a really personable and stand up guy that provided excellent customer service and keeps you informed along every step of the car's repair. I just found his auto shop as I was looking for a trusted location that I can frequent in the future and just happened to stumble upon his shop on Yelp which just happened to have 5 stars. I now understand why people have awarded this business with such a high score as it is the place that I will go to from now on whenever I need anything car related. The price was more than fair for a standard oil change and what was even more impressive was the speed at which the car was maintenanced. I called in the afternoon and Rolando answered, I asked him about the oil change and when could I bring the car in, he then said to bring it on by as soon as I could and that he would have it ready soon. They took no more than 20 minutes to change the oil in the car so I waited inside in the office while I talked to Rolando about life, again, he's a really nice guy. I highly recommend this auto repair shop to anyone who is looking for a place that is fast, friendly and budget friendly. read more

A coworker recommended Rolando when I was having a squeaking issue with my car. He just had his hip replaced and apologized for estimating a 5 hour project to be ready the next morning (this was at 10am). He showed me pricing and exactly what needed to be done upfront so there were no surprises. He called me at 5:30pm and asked if I could pick the car up within the hour. Upon arrival, he explained that he took everything apart until he found the source of the squeaking. Got the new part in same day and it was all ready to go. I go to him for tire leaks and oil changes and every time he has told me to just bring the car in as soon as I could. He doesn't try to rob you blind and always does a thorough inspection. I don't trust anyone else with my vehicles. read more

I've been going to Playa Autocare for the last year. I have a 2010 Chrysler, so there's been quite a bit of work to do. I liked the owner and the shop, i felt safe when i drove away that the car was solid and i was given a fair price. about 2 months ago i had my ac repaired. It was my evaporator and an expensive job that took two days. Within a couple of days the ac was out again. I wasnt able to bring it back right away because i needed the car and work was extremely busy. 3 weeks later I took it back, they kept for 2 days again and i drove away without paying anything more. Within 2 days it stopped working again. I had already lost the car for 4 days and had to pay for a rental, and questioning the quality of the work. It was a month before i was able to bring it back. After they had it for a whole other day without knowing what was wrong i strongly expressed my frustration and doubts, and the financial strain this had created. I was strong, told the facts but not disrespectful. The mechanic i spoke with worked on the car that evening and i drove away in the morning extremely grateful, and expressed as much. Today i called for a price for some more work and the owner hung up on me. As a woman i have been treated like an idiot and have absolutely been take advantage of in this city. I had no other recourse because im not a mechanic myself. But it seems advocating for oneself is not acceptable. I have another mechanic i trust. If you dont want my business thats your prerogative; hanging up on me was pretty low class. read more

I almost never write reviews: this time I have to. That's how good Playa Auto Care is. I went in because my AC was blowing hot. I knew it wasn't lack of refrigerant because I'd checked it. So I got Playa's name off Yelp and brought it in. I was prepared to spend several thousand dollars for a new AC compressor. Instead Marc Cohen diagnosed an electrical problem. He then found the wires I'd damaged (when I'd changed my oil filter) and spliced them back. He recharged my AC with refrigerant and I was good as new. My total bill? $278.20. I thanked him for being so fair. He smiled and said, "I have to be able to sleep at night." The whole experience was a throwback to a different era, when honesty and pride in your work was all that mattered. read more

I brought my 1973 International Scout over to Rolando so he could look over the mechanics of the truck. An over all view of the condition. He actually brought me back to the shop so we could do it together, which was exactly what I was hoping for. Because it's an older truck and it takes time ordering pieces...I actually felt comfortable leaving it with Rolando. It's a great shop, nice and clean. Rolando is honest, he's real, he is fair. I highly recommend playa. Guys like this are not common anymore. read more

Highly recommend this place. Rolando does honest and quality work for a price that can't be beat. Finding a mechanic in Miami that is honest and not trying to screw you is hard. I just want to give a shout out to my mechanic Rolando for keeping my Benz in shape for the last three years. I go to his shop religiously for any maintenance on my whip and I can say with full confidence that he does honestly what is in his utmost capacity to service his clients. Dude literally goes out of his way for me with every visit. There's no shop with his precision and attention to getting the best quality and price on parts while making sure that unnecessary jobs aren't being done for profit. This is a respectable shop and whenever I go to get an oil change I always see return clients coming back to him which speaks volumes for itself. Rolando is my go to surgeon for my vehicle. Million thanks. read more

Playa Auto Care - Auto Repair Near Me - North Miami Beach, Florida

In life there's two things you should know. How to cook & fix a car. Unfortunately I can't fix a car and have always been at the mercy of sleezy mechanics. Today I found Playa Auto Care far as hell but worth the drive. The owner Roly is a real stand up guy that truck cares about your car and the customer. They diagnose the problem and give you the cost of what the part cost them and the labor they'll charge to repair. By far the lowest rates I've ever seen. This is a word of mouth joint so don't get discouraged by the few reviews. I wanted to keep this place low key but it's worth the time. read more

Simply looked this up in Yelp and I was really surprised that this place had 5 stars like perfect score.... this means this place has always pleased its customers.... also I noted that every other review mentioned the word "honest", so I went for service here. And I agree with the owner being honest, I can add the service is timely and efficient and I give this place read more

I am new to Miami and was very particular about finding a new mechanic that would be honest and do a good job without taking advantage! I found it right here. Absolutely great job, great service, and great prices blew my very weary expectations out of the water. I had brakes and rotors done and an oil change. He even offered a small service of painting my rims behind my hub caps black instead of the silver rust that they were before and this small touch made such a difference. Will be coming back here and nowhere else! read more

Probably the best mechanic shop I've ever been to. The owner is honest and good hearted and is not only willing to fix your car but teach you about car so you can drive for better, longer! We need more mechanic shops like this one read more

I've been coming to Playa Auto Care since 2014, and highly recommend this shop. Rolando always makes an honest assessment of what repairs are needed and is extra careful in offering advice if there are any "gotchas" to be mindful of. He worked on a 97 Jeep Wrangler that I owned as well as currently maintained my classic BMW coupe in top form! I wish there were more service oriented folks in other industries in Miami who were as conscientious and honest as Rolando. read more

Car was having trouble and one mechanic told me it was one issue that would cost me at least $300 when I took it to playa auto he said it wasn't it and that they were just charging me extra. I just moved to Florida from NJ and was looking for a reputable shop based on reviews. I had to wait for 2 hours to find out that a rear break job on my old Lexus will cost me $1000. I could not believe the price knowing that cost of parts is under 200 and I always paid between $100-150 for any brake job on all my cars so I asked Rolando if I can bring my parts for him to install. He refused and realizing that I'm not coming back charged me $35 for looking at my car which took him literally 2 minutes. I asked him if he was planning to use original Lexus parts just to make to justify such exuberant price but he confirmed that these were 3rd party generic parts. So I ordered brand new brake pads and discs online for 190 and had it installed by someone else for 150. I was willing to spend a little more because of my busy schedule, my time is worth more than the 700 in savings but I just refuse to be taken advantage of and recommend anyone who reads this to avoid this place by all means. read more
