He made sure I knew to use a different plug than what came with it. I then asked what the "Nintendo Family Computer" was behind him. He then showed me an original famicom Nintendo Family Computer and explained how it's the upgraded version of (that) He then showed me the top loader American Nintendo that came out around the same time,looked similar. He then told me those need a different plug than they come with and that Japanese plugs work in American outlets, but they are higher voltage so can damage the Famicom (either one) Then he sold me two plugs because I needed them, for the future AV famicom.
