Their larger animals currently include elks, cougars, and wolves. It's small by typical zoo standards, but they only have a staff of 5 or 6 people. Entrance is free, but has places where you can make donations in the park if you want to help support the zoo. It's sizable enough to spend some time, and even has good spots with benches to sit and relax a bit. It's situated around these rock formations, locally called "haystacks", and has a round hogan and a round hogan, the traditional Navajo homes, on display.

His session was a good variety of about 17 kids, pretty evenly split between boys and girls, from all around the US. I believe they learned a lot from nice instructors/guides and had fun, too. From a parent point of view, I thought the communication from Crow Canyon was terrific- not incessant but informative, clear, and timely. We were hopeful that it would be a good experience for our son, and neither of us was disappointed in the least- we are so glad he went!

Very reasonably priced and our admission gets us in and out of the park on the same day. I would recommend early morning or later afternoon when they are fed because we came a little too late in the morning and almost missed all the wildlife activity as they hunker down during the heat of the day. We did see the grizzly bear and the wolves, and for us it was worth it. We intended to come back around 2:45 for feeding and the guided tour, but we didn't make it. The staff were friendly and informative. I would highly recommend this wildlife sanctuary and support those that cannot be reintroduced to the wild for one reason or another.
