I recently graduated from the DMS program from Platt college (Anaheim) in which I am proud and glad I got the opportunity to experience. Everyone there was really supportive and always had a good attitude. The instructors and staff always greeted me and were really nice. Dr. Yousef, Amanda, Ms.Mili, Ms.Maggie, Brian, Lisa, and Kasey were all a huge part of my education within the field. I'm very thankful they were always there to teach me and help me through any questions I ever had. I also had lots of help from my peers who were also a huge part of my education. My peers dedicated a lot of their time to trying to help me and our other classmates understand topics and or how to scan something. Even today I stay in contact with many of my peers and we all still ask each other questions and study together. I also love where I attended my externship since everyone there was really nice and helpful. I learned a lot there and am thankful I got the opportunity to attend such place. I also love how the campus is very clean and well maintained in which I believe a nice and clean environment is very important to have when attending school. The school has a nice break/lunch room where anyone can study, eat, or even hang out in to relax. I also love the fact that Career Services always had something nice planned out for the students which was very thoughtful of them. There was always nice events and activities in the break/lunch room that would help us students relax and ease our minds off of school. Along with that, Berenice from Career Services would always make sure all students felt welcomed at those events and she always helped me out whenever I would go to her asking for help. She truly cares for the students and always does her best with everything. Thanks to school, I got hired at a clinic and am currently training. Overall, the DMS program itself is challenging but with the help and support of those around, it is very possible.

I am currently enrolled at Platt College, as a MAS student. I didn't know Platt was for me, until I came to see the campus and saw how much of an opportunity as offered to the students. Since I have arrived the staff has been beyond helpful and supportive in the process of enrolling. Admissions doesn't forget about you even after enrollment, I've been at Platt College for six months and use the resources on campus like career services, library and computer center. I'm also in NTHS group Honor Society for students with a GPA of 3.0 and above. They also have student events, where theirs music, food, and raffles with great prizes. The school prides itself for working with their students even after graduation, Platt offers lifetime placement.

The best instructor I've had. Smart, talented, and strict.

I'd recommend this flexible LVN program, it is part time 2 theory classes and a 12 hour clinical each week for a total of around 18 months. It's a bit longer than most LVN programs but I would choose this option again if I needed too. You are able to work while studying, for me I was able to work 30 hours not full time, I started full time and quickly learned I personally would not be able to juggle both and still learn as much as I would like to. They have great clinical instructors with lots of experience and willing to help, they will be on you to learn and if you are falling behind, they will give you that extra one on one time during clinicals! Mrs. Rahimi, Ms. Vanessa, Mr. Faud were so great! Lastly during the end of my time at CCI they brought in a new instructor for theory that made all the difference, Dr Ayman was great! I'd compare his classes to a Mark K lecture, everything he taught was helpful, he would give mnemonics, study material, everything that helped us learn. He would make sure to be available for us should we need anything, he would do one on ones to make sure everyone was working on their weak areas and encouraged us to finish strong. At the end school is hard so make sure you are ready to stay the course both mentally and physically! You have to do the work and with this schedule it's honestly doable.

It also comes down if you really want to be a Biomed or not, or just whatever course you are taking. It does not all fall to the professors on how they teach, you gotta love what you are learning to really understand it. SCIT has given me the certificate and hands-on experience I needed to get my feet wet in the small Biomed world, so far so good. Job placement was not quick but they WILL help you find one. I have been a biomed for 7 years now and SCIT has been my foundation of my career success. I am glad I went to SCIT for Biomed. Not sure about the other programs they have. The first class in the program is Code Intro which is taught by Mr. Kahn who is a very kind man and clearly cares about the success of his students, he takes the time to explain everything and will help you himself if you are having a hard time with any of the material covered in the class. I passed Code Intro with no issues and would soon find out that unfortunately after Code Intro the following class and its teacher would be drastically different. The following class after Code Intro is Code A which is taught by Mr. Winton--I was honestly quite surprised at how much of a gap in difficulty there was between Code Intro and Code A the school really does an awful job of preparing you for the transition between classes. Mr. Winton is a nice guy sure, but his teaching method is honestly pretty awful his entire routine is to go over the NEC lecture book for the first half of class and will then briefly tell you about the lab project you have due at the end of the week, he barely takes any time to explain what you need to do in the lab and doesn't really tell you how to do it he just assumes that coming straight from Code Intro you'll know what to do even though students at that point most likely have had no experience working on a panel. Mr. Winton also for lack of a better term seems to have pretty bad ADHD either that or he just gets very easily distracted because he loves going on these wild tangents and going into these personal anecdotes. He also will literally tell the entire class that students often have a hard time doing well with the exams that he creates, if students are known to have a hard time with the exams you make then shouldn't you consider changing your approach to them? The fact that he so gleefully told us that was pretty amazing...I graduated from a four-year college and boy would I have hated to have a professor like Mr. Winton, I sincerely hope that the school somehow sees this and decides to take action and have a discussion with him. Besides Mr. Winton's subpar teaching methods the work in the lab was honestly never enjoyable, you feel extremely self-conscious about the work you need to do and if you need any help from the lab assistants boy oh boy prepared to feel judged. One lab assistant in particular, Russell, has quite a bad attitude and is extremely judgey and passive aggressive I honestly have no idea how someone like him who seems to have pretty bad social skills was able to become an assistant in a school--maybe he actually is good at electrical work but that doesn't necessarily qualify him to be teaching students in a school. Besides everything I've mentioned one other thing I need to bring up is how cheap the materials department is, all the materials they give you feel extremely cheap and are of course overpriced. One day I forgot my hard hat at home and needed to get one in order to work in the lab that day, I went to the materials department and asked if I could get a replacement one and they actually told me that I had to go to a nearby Home Depot and get one myself. Hard hats are extremely cheap and easy to find I got myself one at Home Depot for $10, the fact that they weren't willing to give me one while I was paying thousands of dollars to be in that class did not sit well with me. All in all this was an enormous waste of my time and energy, had the program continued in a class style similar to Code Intro I most likely would have stayed however unfortunately the quality of the program fell off of a cliff soon after. I luckily had someone paying for my classes and I genuinely feel bad for them spending their money, this program is sure as hell not worth $20k you're better off either finding a different program or just learning a different trade at a community college.

A huge shoutout to our program director, Dr. Vu, who went above and beyond to make sure we were prepared for the NBCOT. You can tell she genuinely cares about her students' success and puts in the effort to guide and support everyone throughout the program. All of my professors also played a big role in my journey. Professor Estoque had this really warm, motherly/older sister kind of energy that made you feel supported and comfortable, especially during stressful times. Professor Hintay had a calm and steady presence that made the class feel grounded. She explained things clearly and helped break down more complex topics in a way that felt manageable. Dr. Lim was kind but pushed us to really understand the material on a deeper level, which made a big difference in our learning. Professor Oh was newer to the program, but you could really see the effort he put into improving and growing as an instructor. Professor Son was fun and funny but she also challenged us in a good way. She held us to a high standard, but it ultimately helped us become more confident and prepared. She took on both roles as our instructor and fieldwork coordinator, and she handled both incredibly well. She was organized, supportive, and played a big role in helping us transition into our clinical experiences. All the professors were knowledgeable, supportive, and always willing to help when things got tough. You can really feel that they want you to succeed, not just pass. One of the best parts of my experience was the friendships I made and the extra activities we got to be a part of. Whether it was volunteering or just participating in school events, those moments made everything more fun and created memories I'll always carry with me. Overall, I'm grateful for my experience at ACC. Going back to school was one of the best decisions I made, and I feel confident stepping into my career as a COTA because of the foundation I built here.

I received my ATT (approval to test) within one week from my last day. I had the option to test immediately but I had applied to test with accommodations so with limited centers for accommodations I tested 1 month out in August and passed the first time. I worked closely with our Careers Center and the director Dr. Willinger to create an amazing resume right after receiving my license, began applying to jobs immediately and received an invitation to interview within one week for DaVita. Two weeks later I received an invitation to interview for an ER position close to home which was my first choice to build a strong foundation as a new nurse. I know there are a lot of negative comments about this school on here. I have heard and watched a lot of sad and crazy experiences that my friends and other peers endure with staff and faculty throughout my 3.5 years there. I have experienced questionable professors and staff who are obviously there for the paycheck. On the other end, I have met 2x as many INCREDIBLE staff and faculty throughout my time at Stanbridge. People need to understand that this is still a relatively new program and it's still working through a lot of adjustments both within the programs itself, how they handle students, and how they handle staff. But with being new comes an advantage to incoming students because with the help of the right people and resources, there is flexibility and grace that comes with a class or a term that possibly end in a fluke (I.e. bad professors, missing classes due to extreme circumstances, etc.). I understand this is not everyone's experience, but I HAVE seen multiple times where the school does work with students to properly evaluate their knowledge of a subject a second time if there is overwhelming evidence showing it was not properly done the first time. It also is dependent on how an issue is communicated as well. Any nursing program out there is hard and rigorous. Stanbridge is not unique to this. I can confidently say that I went in to the NCLEX feeling so prepared because of how this school preps you. If you follow testing strategies and work closely with the coaches at the end of the program YOU. WILL. PASS. From Term 1 Stanbridge works with students not just on building testing stamina but building testing stamina while sleep deprived. It's not officially an actual thing. They always told us to be well rested and to eat before but, the reality of any nursing program is adequate sleep is simply not possible. You just have to get through each term and pass. Keep moving even if you have a set back, do your best to not stop. I have no idea how many times I thought to myself that I will more than likely not remember anything after the program and I questioned if I really actually learned anything. I have been an ER nurse for almost 7 months now. Every moment of feeling competent, confident, and proud to be a nurse I owe to Stanbridge. While most of my peers in my new grad program have forgotten a lot of basics and high priorities, I am one of the few who still remembers and I am so thankful. I had zero medical background coming into the program. My science gpa at a 3.5 was not competitive enough for CCs, UCs, or CSUs to see me as a priority candidate for their RN program. Stanbridge was the first school to take a chance on me and invest in me. Before Stanbridge I was never the student who was picked for scholarships, awards, or special internships. The last 2 years at Stanbridge I received scholarships every term, was selected for Student Hospital Fellowship, received the Presidential Service Award, and ended the program with the Thomas Fuentes Service Award. This was all because ONE staff member encouraged me to apply each time an opportunity was sent out. The Stanbridge experience is truly what YOU choose to make it. I have met some amazing people with incredible hearts at this school. I loved that I don't need to hike or walk a mile to get to class. I loved that I only needed to be on the ground once or twice a week. Nursing school was THE hardest thing I have ever done. I gave up my entire life for 3 years just to eat, live, breathe, and sleep nursing. You can ensure your success in this program if you want this more than anything else. There will be times where you have to pick school over your family and it sucks. But being on the other side now, it is SO worth it and now I have the rest of my life. My husband is currently in the program now and is in term 4 at the OC campus. He hasn't been in school full time in over 10 years and he is doing amazing. I'm proud to be a nurse and I'm proud to be a Stanbridge Alum. The cost for tuition is pretty steep. If you have a good tribe behind you and can afford to not work during the program, I highly recommend it!

It was challenging, but it felt intentional rather than overwhelming. As a mom with two kids, I was able to handle it. They are my everything so I'm proud to do it for them. The course and labs were hands-on, the instructors were clear, and the program prepared me well for the NCLEX. I stayed organized, used support when I needed it, and never felt like I was struggling to get answers or keep things on track. For what I needed at that time, the part-time program allowed me to move forward into nursing, it worked.
