Originally, I came here intending to leave an extremely negative review regarding my 18-month…read moreexperience at this school. However, instead of writing purely out of frustration, I want to highlight the areas that truly need improvement because the experience has been devastating, disappointing, and frustrating for many students. One of the biggest issues with this school is the lack of an open-door policy when it comes to student concerns, guidance, and resolution. Unfortunately, it often feels like it is "the school's way or the highway." Students frequently feel unheard, dismissed, and undermined, even when bringing forward serious and valid concerns. Another major issue is the constant policy and program changes. Cohort contracts are changed unexpectedly, resulting in students attending longer than originally anticipated. In addition, students are sometimes required to retest under circumstances that feel unjustified and poorly managed. For example, my cohort took our exit exam on May 8th, and many of us passed. Days later, we were informed that the exam had been invalidated due to vendor-related errors. Imagine the emotional distress and disappointment that caused after students had already worked tirelessly to succeed. Situations like this should be prevented through better oversight, communication, and coordination with testing vendors before exams are administered. The school also lacks empathy and flexibility when students face real-life challenges. Many of us have families, jobs, financial responsibilities, and personal hardships, yet accommodations are often discussed and later retracted. As a nursing school that teaches compassion and patient-centered care, it is disappointing to experience such little empathy and support toward students. To future students considering this program: understand that your concerns may not always be acknowledged, even when they are valid. Many students feel unsupported not only by the school administration, but also when attempting to escalate concerns externally. I will say there are some positives. The grading scale is fair, the online theory format can be convenient, and there are several excellent clinical instructors who genuinely care about student success. However, management, communication, consistency, and student advocacy need significant improvement. There are only a few theory instructors who truly stand out positively. Additionally, the heavy reliance on ATI and Capstone testing may work for some students, but not everyone learns the same way. Success cannot be measured solely through repetitive testing strategies. Many students succeed because of outside tutoring, independent study groups, determination, and personal discipline. Nursing schools should recognize that different learning styles require different approaches. Overall, my cohort experienced a significant amount of stress, inconsistency, and frustration throughout this process. A huge shoutout to our program director, Dr. Vu, who went above and beyond to make sure we were prepared for the NBCOT. You can tell she genuinely cares about her students' success and puts in the effort to guide and support everyone throughout the program. All of my professors also played a big role in my journey. Professor Estoque had this really warm, motherly/older sister kind of energy that made you feel supported and comfortable, especially during stressful times. Professor Hintay had a calm and steady presence that made the class feel grounded. She explained things clearly and helped break down more complex topics in a way that felt manageable. Dr. Lim was kind but pushed us to really understand the material on a deeper level, which made a big difference in our learning. Professor Oh was newer to the program, but you could really see the effort he put into improving and growing as an instructor. Professor Son was fun and funny but she also challenged us in a good way. She held us to a high standard, but it ultimately helped us become more confident and prepared. She took on both roles as our instructor and fieldwork coordinator, and she handled both incredibly well. She was organized, supportive, and played a big role in helping us transition into our clinical experiences. All the professors were knowledgeable, supportive, and always willing to help when things got tough. You can really feel that they want you to succeed, not just pass. One of the best parts of my experience was the friendships I made and the extra activities we got to be a part of. Whether it was volunteering or just participating in school events, those moments made everything more fun and created memories I'll always carry with me. Overall, I'm grateful for my experience at ACC. Out of all the instructors I have had, the one who has been the most helpful and supportive to me has been Miss G, our OB instructor. Miss G has been very hands-on and has always taken the time to answer my questions and help us whenever she could. She has prepared us well for going out into clinicals, and I know that if I ever need help or have a question, she is only an email away and is always quick to respond. I honestly would have loved for Miss G to be the one handing me my diploma because she has been more than just an instructor to me she has been a mentor. She is truly one of the best instructors I have had throughout this program. Miss Rich, the program director and also our physics instructor, is also a good teacher. I can honestly say that her teaching skills are very good, and she knows the material well. The only challenge is that she is extremely busy and has a lot on her plate, so sometimes emails may not get answered or may receive a response much later. Overall, I don't think the program itself is as bad as some people have made it seem. It is definitely fast-paced and can be overwhelming at times, but I think a lot depends on your experience with the instructors and the support you receive. If I were to rate the school, the main reason I would give it 4 stars is because of Miss G. She has genuinely made a difference in my experience in this program. I have been trying to get it sorted out since early July but keep being told to be patient and they will get back to me next week. But nobody reaches out to me unless I reach out to them. When I first started, I was excited and happy with how well the enrollment process is, but if you drop out, goodluck ever getting a clear answer on anything. Public safety is also really wonderful with you and they're really caring. One of the Public Safety officers was comforting me when I was taken to the hospital on a suicide attempt at 18. This place also has an annual event called Take Back the Night where survivors of sexual assault speak out at the Fish Interfaith Center. Speaking of the Fish Interfaith Center, this place is also incredibly inclusive to people from different religious backgrounds. This place celebrates religious holidays for students from different religions. I find that really nice. I also love how this place allows people, who aren't Chapman students or staff, to come to this place. I met an older man who wanted to know how to find this place for an Iftar dinner. I showed him where it was and he went in here, and he got the food. This place has also been really wonderful to me when I was a victim of financial sextortion at 18. I met a lot of people who were amazing and kind to me after I shared with them about my experience. I had a case manager who comforted me when I was going through the trauma of this. I also had a professor who comforted me and told me that financial sextortion wasn't my fault at all. The 4th floor on the Argyos Forum is a great place for career fairs, and a great place to meet with potential employers. I got a chance to meet with a Secret Service employer who was such a wonderful man. This place also has wonderful areas to take your graduation photos from. In fact, if you come here during the months of April to mid-May, you'll find lots of graduating students posing for photographers.

Parking has never been a situation for me because of how early my classes were; however, it does get hectic around noon. My experience with the financial aid office as okay. They aren't the fastest and don't even try to call them. They're too busy helping out people in person. You are better off driving back to campus in-person to get assistance with any financial aid problems, which is not ideal if you live 30+ minutes away.

We were told he could not enroll in an open-entry, noncredit employment class until completing a counseling intake appointment. The earliest available intake was scheduled for May 20, while the course ended May 21. When I mentioned this to the DSS program coordinator, she cited Title IV requirements, which are not even related to this: https://fsapartners.ed.gov/knowledge-center/library/program/All%20Title%20IV%20Federal%20Student%20Aid%20Programs Because of this timing, he was unable to participate despite completing all required steps. Families relying on open-access, noncredit programs may want to confirm whether intake appointments are required prior to enrollment and how scheduling timelines may affect access. As a parent of a son with autism and as a professional in this field, I do not recommend NOCE for students with disabilities. They add extra barriers to access classes for students with disabilities that are not okay. This program has false advertising; it says it is open entry when it's not. I recommend attending another program. Don't waste your time or get your student's hopes up. These people do not want to help you. They just want to collect their paychecks.

It's not hard to find the department you're looking for because they have signs everywhere. There is also a map showing which services are offered. The admissions and counseling is right across from each other, but the rooms are so small that it feels stuffy in there. I'm so glad the food pantry is still operating because it has been a godsend during these trying times. All you need is a student ID card, a current class schedule, and shopping bags (although they might have some on hand). Every semester, you have to do a questionnaire. I've noticed that they have a kiosk, and coming earlier in the day and week means better offerings. Everyone there is very kind and friendly. The campus Wi-Fi is also really quick to connect to and works in the parking lot area.
