This school sucks. They're not letting me walk the stage because I'm graduating early. Despite saying I could in the contract that I signed far before the decision was made. Students vape in the restrooms. Supervision technically run over kids with their carts. Please avoid this school and choose another school in the district. This school is great. Loved that they have a ton of AP classes and different kinds of electives. Teachers are great but some are super bias. The only teacher I didn't like was Mr. Eusantos from Agriculture. I was in tennis but had his class for 6th period so whenever there was a tennis game I would have to leave class early. I told him this the beginning of the year and he said to make up the work the next morning before the first period. I made up my work every time and worked in the green house after school for extra credit. When the semester was almost over, he called up students to tell them their grade and when it was my turn, I asked what grade I had assuming it was an A since I did all my work but he just said "it's good." When I asked again to know the letter grade it was still "just good." I ended up getting a B in that class which made no sense since I had almost a perfect score on everything + extra credit. At the time I was just a freshman and didn't feel comfortable to ask why I got the grade I did. Instead of a 4.0, I had a 3.8 which made it hard to hit a 4.0 by the end of my hs career. There was a time I volunteered to sell pumpkins and when I got to the farm, there was a "change of plans" and that we were going to be in the Founder's day parade. I was forced to join and by the end of the parade, I was left at Westminster City Hall and did not have a way to go back to the school to be picked up. I had just moved to Westminster and had no idea where I was. I happened to recognize a restaurant nearby and had my dad pick me up from there but I had to wait about an hour. Another time, we had to watch a video and pass a quiz in order to drive the tractor. He let everybody drive the tractor except for me even though I passed the quiz. Also, a male student touched me inappropriately and I punched back in self defense and Mr. Eusantos only scolded me instead the student who touched me. This was all years ago and hopefully he's a better teacher now. But after all these years I still don't understand why he treated me the way he did. Overall Westminster High School was great except for my unpleasant experiences with Mr. Eusantos. read more

This school is horrible my son was getting bullied his freshman yr told the school and they did nothing. Then the kid a few months later beat my my son and the principal and police officer were worried about the kid that beat my kid .oh, the principal said the boy just needs a break his home situation is really bad she says this while my son got beat sitting there crying. this school is, without a doubt, one of most crooked schools i've ever been to. the teachers and staff are incredibly unprofessional and it was made quite clear to me, on multiple occasions, that they do not care about their students' well-beings. it's no secret that there is a severe bullying problem at this school and the teachers, particularly mr. pham, are a very big part of it. pham would make sexual jokes (most of them homophobic) very often. one i remember quite clear was when a student was talking with his friends, quite loudly, about a potential threesome (because that's the kind of school this is). pham chimed in, encouraging the student, saying "as long as the swords don't touch it's not gay". extremely inappropriate and disgusting, and especially disturbing considering these students were underage. he was very obviously partial to his vietnamese students and never seemed to check up as much on the other students. he would also make offensive jokes at the expense of other students in order to get on the good side of the more "popular" kids. however, there is one incident in particular that really stuck with me and that i will never be able to forget. on the first day of class, he has everyone write down several facts about themselves as a sort of "ice-breaker" (i.e. their favorite music, shows, movies, and goals for the future). while we were writing, he walked around the room to look at what we had written so far. when he got to me, he took a look at what i had written my goals were and repeated them out loud in a mocking manner, looked me up and down, scoffed, and then in a very sarcastic, condescending tone said, "well, good luck with that". this caused several other students who overheard to laugh along with him. from that day on, he continued to bully me incessantly to the point where i felt physically sick going into class. i was already getting bullied by my fellow peers so the fact that my teacher was another bully i had to deal with worsened my depression, causing me to fall into a very dark headspace. fortunately for me, i was able to transfer to a new school the following year in order to get away from the bullying. had i stayed at westminster high school for another year, i can't say for certain whether or not i'd even be alive by now, seeing as how the bullying was only getting worse and worse. pham's behavior is not the behavior of a professional. pham's behavior is the behavior of someone who is extremely insecure and bitter and feels the need to take out his self-hate on others. my heart goes out to his current students. i can only hope that none of them get treated as inhumanly as i was treated. however, if they do, i hope they have the courage to speak up about it and take it to the school district because god knows the school will do nothing about it. read more

Westminster High School has a special place in my heart. I have been a student, a college tutor a teacher, I have even been a legal guardian of two students and I can attest to how much this school has changed for good over the years. I remember being completely lost as a student, but there was always someone willing to help me find my way to class and offer their help and friendship. The diversity in this school has always been amazing. The campus has been upgraded since my years as a student, and the classrooms are now much better than they were back in the early 2000s. The school culture and environment has also improved tremendously! Students are now more welcoming and involved than before, they seem more proud to be here. There is more attendance to events than there were when I was a student, and there's always something going on in the school, whether it's a social event, a sports event or some sort of a competition. There is much more cultural events now too, and the students, teachers and staff are always willing to participate. I can't say that it is a perfect school, like many others, it has its issues that must still be resolved, but I do feel that every year this school gets better and better. It only takes a few students, or an interested staff member to make a difference and we are definitely not short on those. As a student at Westminster High School, I have experienced many memorable moments.Throughout my highschool experience, I have joined many programs as well as clubs. The club that was the most memorable to me was VACC (Vietnamese American Culture Club) which brings out the Vietnamese culture through dances and performances, such as Traditional and Lion Dancing. Another significant program is LinkCrew; Link Crew is a transition program that welcomes freshmen and make them feel comfortable throughout the first year of high school. This program really helped me come out of my comfort zone freshmen year, leading me to become a LinkCrew Leader myself. read more

I am forever greatful that I went to Westminster High School. What I am most grateful for is that that school gave me opportunity. They offer a numerous amount clubs and programs such as MERITS, AVID, PUENTES, and much more. And oh did you know that AVID is also a NATIONAL demonstration school?! And only very few school in California have that!! This school also offered me internships at places like Boeing and the FV regional hospital and I got the chance to participate as a intern for the Huntington Beach Boeing site as a high school student. This school has grown to something amazing to its unique culture all the way to its amazing clubs. Westminster High School is such a great place for students to strive. The STEM program here is really refined and there are a lot of opportunities for students to gain experience before entering college. Westminster High School really prepares you for college and is able to teach a lot of life lesson skills. The sports here are also very nice. There are many sports offered here throughout all seasons of the year. Students that are enrolled here are able to find new friends and gain new experiences that will carry on later in life. Westminster High School is actually an amazing school. It is not the best, but it's a good school. There are many great clubs, sports, and even programs/organizations. I am a Link Crew leader on campus and I have had the privilege to work with a bunch of great people including staff and students. WHS also has a lot of great staff faculty and administration. First off the lunch sucks here its cold and ugh wouldn't even feed to my dogs, my old school have like good variety of food that is hot but this school basically just "burger" and "orange chicken" I rather just eat chips for the rest of the days. So here is what I know about this school. They have a very nice football stadium and a really nice football field. From what I can tell Westminster shares the field with Marina High School and both teams play football on the football field with a football. I also know that one of the rules in high school football is that you must wear a cup. Now this ain't no Dixie cup and this ain't no coffee mug and most of all you certainly don't want to be drinking out of it. But it is a rule and it must be worn at all times. My wife said that all high school football games cost the same but I personally thought it was very expensive getting in here tonight. $19.00 for two adults and a small child. Bottom line is this is the best high school football stadium I've been to in a long time. It's a lot like Huntington Beach High School but instead of looking at the back half of school busses and street sweepers you get to watch the 405 freeway zipping by through the trees. read more

I went to speak to someone since a student was bullying my special ed sister and they did nothing about it. They don't care about their students especially the disabled kids. It still shocks me that a student can get away with bullying my sister and stealing her money without the school doing anything about it besides talking to the student. My little sister didn't get her money back and she deserves justice because she can't speak for herself. I'm very disappointed at this school for not taking bullying a disabled student seriously. If I could speak to someone higher about this incident I would but they just don't listen. Don't send your kids to this school. read more

Hi, My name is Darlene Samano and I am a student here in Westminster high school. This school is full of many cultures and it learns how to embrace people's differences. I am involved in Link Crew, Band, Drum line, Swim, and Water Polo. Throughout these 4 years I have been much involved in school and I know a lot about this campus. It is actually one of the biggest school campuses in all of orange county. This school has made such in impact in many young teenagers and it is a great school with many great teachers. There are more great teachers than the low number of grumpy and old teachers. Our school has many activities that you can enjoy such as football games, dances, pep rally etc. These are events that help change your high school experience for the better.This school also provides a lot of clubs,and sports. Not only that, but you can get involve in academic classes that they offer such as MERTIS, AVID, and agriculture. Are school is also known for the farm that we have on campus and many students enjoy taking part in classes like these. In general this is a great school and there are not many other ones like this one around this area. read more

Westminster High School is great. I'm a freshman during the COVID-19 pandemic, but I was able to fit in just fine and I got new friends.

As a middle school student, I honestly was skeptical about WHS since I had heard about its reputation of being gang related and I was worried that its education wouldn't be as good as other high schools. OH MAN, WAS I WRONG!! In the past four years, I've had the privilege of meeting countless of wonderful humans. The people at Westminster are something else. There are supportive, understanding, humorous, and open-minded people at all corners of campus. People who transferred in from other schools have told me that they were surprised at how most students were so kind and that there wasn't a huge clique issue on campus. Thinking about all the people I've gotten to know makes me want to redo high school all over again―they're that good. Believe me when I say the people here are simply amazing. As for the education, academics at WHS is just as good, if not better, than anywhere else. The resources over here are endless and there are definitely teachers/counselors on campus who will help you reach for your goals. I know people who've gotten opportunities to research with universities, apply for programs related to their career plans, and further themselves outside of the classroom thanks to the efforts and guidance of our teachers/counselors. Personally for me, I've gotten the chance to attend college lectures and apply for programs that helped me expand my knowledge of the medical field, such as CampMed (which is exclusive to WHS and a few other schools) and CampNeuro. I also participated in the Nanovation Competition hosted by CNSI and UCLA Anderson School of Management (my group were actually finalists, so that's pretty cool haha!). There's no doubt in my mind that I would have never known about programs like these had I attended somewhere else. WHS helped me become more than just a student who earned good grades in school. I now have all sorts of experience and information under my belt and this kind of stuff is something you'd never get to learn in a classroom. I could go on and on about how amazing Westminster HS is. But this review is sort of really long already and I'm not too sure if people are going to even read up to here. But yeah, WHS easily became my home away from home. It helped me grow as a student, athlete, and most importantly, as a human. I loved my experience here at this school and I highly recommend attending here! TL;DR This school's education, people, culture, etc. are amazing. This school's amazing. Period. Just go here already. You won't regret it! read more

Westminster High school is one of the most diverse and welcoming schools that I have visited. They have a beautiful campus with murals throughout the school, painted by students and professional artists. They have a program that helps guide freshmen for the whole year. I attended Westminster as well as my family and we have definitely gotten a well-rounded education. I honestly would not have liked to go somewhere else because of the diversity that we have. read more

My sister got suspended for defending herself when 18 year old almost 19 hit her . He just wants to get the problem done with I know this because I attended this school !! Westminster high school is such a welcoming and encouraging school. the amount of kindness and care spreads out equally to each of the students. it's beautiful campus contains a football stadium, baseball field, multiple soccer fields, tennis courts, a brand new pool, and so much more. the campus is not just concrete and is filled with bright green grass. As a student from WHS I think the school has done an amazing job ensuring everyone feels included by providing a diverse amount of clubs and programs which students can join and learn from. We have cultural clubs which put on events, a memorable one being the Club de Español when they host Dia de los Muertos. There are academic programs such as AVID, MERITS, PUENTES, etc... As a member of AVID I can say the program has grown a lot and taught me how to prepare for college and apply for colleges. The teachers are extremely supportive and offer advice and help in the materials they teach. A new administration is settling in and I believe they are taking steps to expand and make the students experience better. I've enjoyed my 4 years here at Westminster High School. There are many great events to go to like football games, dances, and cultural festivals. Football games are probably the most memorable events since there were so many at the beginning of each year. Although we aren't the best team right now we were a few years back and those game winning moments are the moments I'll look back on after I leave. Other beginning of the year events are the events Link Crew hosts. As a link crew leader, I enjoy getting to know my freshmen at these events. It's always so fun and the energy is amazing. Going to Westminster was the best decision that I've ever made. I went from a relatively shy person to someone who was outgoing. Throughout my time at Westminster, I was able to experience many cultures, which allowed me to become more open-minded. I went to most of our school events and because of that, I was able to meet many interesting people, who shaped who I am today. Our football games will always hold a special place in my heart and it shows how spirited our school actually is. This school has many different clubs and there is a spot for everyone here. The Linkcrew program allowed me to truly grow as a person and it taught me the importance of leadership. This is a great school. While the campus is run down and dirty, the staff can use some work but overall it is a great school because of its opportunities. Those opportunities include a Boeing Summertime internship, classes for those going into the medical field, engineering classes that teach students how to use tools that an engineer would use in the field, and great coding classes. My family had been coming here for years and Westminster High School has been such a life-changing place for each of us. I came here my sophomore year and even though I knew almost no one, it was such an easy environment to make friends in. Many times people were friendly and ready to help me find my way around the school. Since coming here, there are so many opportunities for me to explore my interests at this school. There are many clubs at this school that help students find a place to express their interests like the Vietnamese American Culture Club and Esports club. Additionally, the ASB and Link Crew programs are always planning events and have a welcoming atmosphere to them. With my 3 years at this school, I have grown as a person, exploring my interests and even becoming better each day. The strong point of this high school are the AP program, good teachers, and good academics. The resources are pretty good as well.The academics here are top-notch especially with OCAD, Project Hope, tutoring center, college and career center. The resources are good for everyone. There is a farm and good facilities like the gyms and library. The quality of the environment and climate is poor. The school always runs out of food, the majority of which is processed. The vending machines take students' money. Restrooms are downright bad with some being clean (usually the girls and some buildings) and some having no working locks at all and toilet paper on the ground, with none available. Parking and drop-off take 15 minutes unless you use the street. Trash is always littered after lunch on the benches and ground. The district provides free chromebooks, and yes, there are free tutoring programs, clubs, and activities. However, this school leaves more to be desired, especially the quality of the environment. read more

I am speaking from a student perspective. And I came from corona, a rich place and fairly good school. This school... May look nice from the outside but the way they run it? It's not good. Mr William? Idk who he really is but most of the kids hate him cuz he's not understanding or willing to deal with kids problems. Link crew here is also like that. They will only deal with kids who seems to be crying or close with them. It's a super bias school. Now if ur walking to ur class and u happen to be kinda late guess what they do? Oh u know take you out of class to go give u a "lecture" while giving u a tardy slip, and ok that just made u miss half the class. Not only that, the math department is terrible. All the years I have been here, math teachers are either rude, don't know how to teach or very not active. It's not just me... Everyone else in other periods are failing. The school isnt active and creates more cliques... Teachers don't really care about ur problem and administrators dont try to deal with you either. Got a teacher that u are failing in? Oh well. Better luck next time! Over all... Go to fountain valley or some school that's not known as a gangster filled school or known as a boring ass school. If there's one word I can use to explain the students there, it is hardworking. From ASB, sport, Linkcrew, to clubs, everyone is just trying their best to make this school a better place. It isn't the best school, but for sure everyone is trying to make it better. ASB and cheers are pretty much at every game and would always make as many events as possible for students to enjoy. Kids in ASB will stay at school from until class start (8) to pretty much 10 or 11 pm. The staff here are playful and firm. Of course I can't speak for every teachers on campus and of course not everyone have the same experience or opinion as me on teachers. Some students just hate teachers because they are teachers. But from my observation, the staffs and teachers are always cracking jokes and being friendly to the students. Mr.Boyd, for instance, has been a teacher here for more than 10 years and has been involved with Westminster being more than just a teacher. He is also the girl soccer, track, and football coach. He teaches photo, yearbook, and has also taught other subjects before. Many students would just go into his class and simply talks to him about their interest, life and etc. read more

Westminster high school one of the ¨best¨ schools in orange county.I'm a student here at westminster and I would like to say I really don't like this school. Mr.williams,one of the people in charge of supervision,doesn't really want to deal with kids problems which makes kids very livid. I've been here for almost two years, and most of the staff are actually supportive and want the best for you, including the principal. Link crew,a program which does not help their freshmen and forgets them the next week,only deals with kids who seems like they're crying and close with them. this school is alright, it just has to have some changes. My Freshmen year was ok until i had this math teacher who was bipolar, always on her phone, and rude to each and every student.since my freshman year with her, I haven't seen her around which is good because i never liked her in the first place.One time she was crying about her yelling at us, and the next day she said to us "one day all of you will become someone and i'm going to be really proud of you." i was berserk after class when she said that.now let's talk about the soccer program; furthermore, the team is boisterous when it comes to games and practices. In addition, you make new friends when you join the team.I've been in the soccer program my freshmen and sophomore years,and you don't have to pay any fees because you work in tournaments and sell chocolate so the money you make goes to cover your fees.Westminster high school location is between the 405 and 22 freeways, off of the golden west exit of each one.If you're not a gregarious person then don't come to this school because they're is a lot of kids crowding everywhere and in the hallways you barely have room to walk. read more
