A lot of the lower reviews are from old management. This store is packed with great stuff all of the time, and they have more good shoes than any thrift store around the area. The prices are almost all less than goodwill, and the selection is way better, plus everyone in the shop is super friendly and helpful - I highly recommend this location! read more

Normally I like this Plato's better then most other Plato's due to the store layout and how nice the employees always are, but then the last time I was in here selling some items I was informed of a new policy where for every single bag you bring in to sell; you have to fill out a little form FOR EVERY SINGLE BAG, explaining the bag, where you got it, how long you've had it, etc. just sooo bizarre! So I've started selling my clothes at other Plato's, since it's wayy too much of a pain to have to do all that every single time. I'm pretty perplexed by the whole thing? read more

Let me just start by saying this Alayna at the Westminster store is amazing! 10/10 would recommend her if your needing help or have questions on anything. She was so helpful and answered all of my questions, I would recommend that if your going to get rid of clothing to call Plato's closet, I've never had a problem with there business everything I have ever gotten from Plato's closet has been nothing but well taking care of clothing, shoes and more. The value of time and effort put into by the employees is a wonderful, it's always very clean and smells good, clothing isn't on the floor and stepped on like most places. This is a terrible store. Offered me $9 for 2 pairs of shoes (one brand new in the box never worn and the other brand new never worn without the box) and 2 dresses once worn. Absolute scam do not sell clothes here you're wasting your time and money. To be super clear they were offering me TWO DOLLARS for the brand new in box shoes. SCAM. One of the shoes had interchange straps and they said they put them back in my bag but obviously just threw them away. This is the worst Plato's Closet in Colorado. I wish I could say zero stars. And it took them 3 hours to look through 2 grocery bags of clothes. read more

Absolutely awful service and value. Not a care in the world and management is truly awful. Not only was I disgusted about how the store was ran but also how employees were treated. I mean maybe they deserve it because of how bad they are but who knows. I went in with everything with tags on, and only had 3 things taken. I will say they do have a good collection of clothes for reasonable prices. They have a lot of name brand things and a good selection. However, I'd be lying if I didn't say I was absolutely disgusted by the service of one of the employees. There was a young man trying to sell his stuff and he had a visible disability and was bombarding the staff with questions. Yeah, I've gotta agree the rest here (wish I saw these reviews before I went). The actual inventory is not in-style, but they don't take much of what you're trying to sell. While they did take a few items, on later inspection and looking through the bags myself, I noticed all of the clothes were in the *exact same way* I folded them -- and the items they took were right on top! They missed out on some never-worn or gently-used items from stores like Urban Outfitters, Aritzia, Anthropologie, and Madewell. I have a hard time believing those pieces aren't "in-style" after seeing the dated inventory in the store (we're talking bedazzled jeans from the 2000s with stains, people). It's apparent that the staff doesn't actually go through the clothes. Management should really switch to having the staff review clothes in front of the client (like Buffalo Exchange) to resolve the issue. I also suggest they clear out some of that dated inventory. UPDATE: I went to the Boulder location and they took nearly everything. I feel so affirmed, lol. read more

I am so frustrated. I brought in at least 150 items and they "went though them" in 5 minutes and bought two things. They told me my styles were too old even though I work in retail and they are all within a year of being purchased. I had brands like American eagle, Pacsun, Francesca's and H&M. The pure laziness of these employees wasted my time. Now I can't rely on the platos right next to my house. Don't waste your time. read more

I have loved this place since I was a young gal. Now I bring my daughter here and she loves it too. For anyone who loves thrift store shopping, this place takes it too the next level. I took my whole family to the one on 88th and Wads. We found something for everyone. I brought a return back the next day because I grabbed the wrong pair out of the stack I had tried on. The sales associate was really helpful and friendly. I got my exchange taken care of quickly and now I get to enjoy my new threds. read more

if I could give a zero star rating I would. When walking into a clothing store, you expect quality and great service. But when I walked in Plato's closet, today I was treated with the most disrespect I've ever experienced. The minute I walked in three of the workers stared at me and gave me dirty looks, and made me feel like I shouldn't be in that store. and then anytime I looked around and was shopping and picked up a piece of clothing. I turn and see that they were looking at me giving me a discussed look as if I couldn't fit in that piece of clothing. I had asked one of the workers the only one who didn't even seem to notice I was really there and the only one that said hi. Welcome in for the manager when she told me that the manager was upfront and showed me who it was, it was the person who was giving me the dirtiest looks. I then proceeded to ask for the name found out the managers name is Bittany. And then showed Toumi why the coa workers were acting like that because the manager enable them to treat customers in the most disrespectful way possible. I didn't think I was the biggest girl that shouldn't be able to fit in those clothing but now I feel very insecure about myself because of them that I ended up not getting anything. And as I was walking out, I heard the make rude comments about me. this is also not the first negative experience I've had with the store, I had brought in clothes to try and sell, and when I brought them in, they went through each piece of clothing and gave told me that it wasn't good enough, and that they would not buy it. They are buying a pair of shorts, and they told me that because it was not new and it was not. It was exactly a year old that they would only offer me two dollars for it and because it was not a designer brand. I honestly believe this location should be shut down because of the amount of disrespect and lack of chances, the employees give on the piece of clothing that come in. This location is ok. The store always seems to be very clean and the staff is friendly but that's it for positives. Every time I've been to this one, the clothes are always tangled. It's not just one section either, everywhere I look and every piece of clothing I try to take out to look at is stuck to something else. It becomes extremely frustrating after a while. I also noticed that there are a lot of clothes mixed in with the wrong sizes. Just on this one visit I found 4-5 items that I really liked but ended up being the wrong size. Very disappointed in this store, I brought in 2 bags full of clothes, almost all were popular brands and I know for a fact they did not look through my bag because the dresses that were on a hanger were in the same spot. No other hole was made from even getting the hangers out or putting them back in. And after waiting over an hour and a half for them to only skim the very top of my bag is ridiculous. Been here several times to sell items and they don't take any brand name in style items (which my stuff is in way better shape than stuff they are trying to sell on their shelves). I have tried more than once to give Plato's closet, a chance, and while I have gotten a couple of cute things, I have seen clothes that show wear and tear I and have seen shoes that have stains. They won't take any of my stuff even stuff that is in perfect condition claiming that it looks to be more than 18 months old, how does one even tell something is more than 18 months old when it is in great condition, secondly they seem to have quite the double standard when you go and look around and see certain clothes, they have, but they won't take clothes of yours that are nearly identical. Furthermore, there is one young lady there who wears big glasses and has short hair and she is always rude I've never had a good experience with her and it seems like helping customers is a burden to her. read more

I have never had great luck selling clothes at any locations. I bring large bags of designer/name brand clothes that are lightly worn and have never left with more than $15. (I don't know why I keep giving them chances, because each time I go I remember why I dislike the process) This most recent trip I brought in a large bag, just like I usually do, and they offered to purchase a pair of essentially brand new peep toe heels and a top and they offered me $6....SERIOUSLY? No. That's ridiculous. Waste of time. 2 stars because the store was clean, and staff was pretty nice - otherwise I would give it 1 star. read more

1st of all I have been to Plato's closet many of times and they have never been rude to us. today was our first time bringing going stuff in, they didn't have many bags to go through and it took 2 hours for them to get back to us even tho they said it would be 30 min wait. when we got there they wanted 4 expensive items for a very low price I brought in a whole 2 bags. when I got the bags back I noticed A pair of shoes missing and they didn't tell us the took then. didn't pay us and didn't even tell us they told us. very disappointing. Quite possibly the worst customer service experience I've ever had. I dropped off a basket full clothes and shoes on Sunday and the girl said it would take 3 hours because they were so "busy", and to come back before close. I came all the way back just to find out their registers are down so they can't pay me and to come back the next day. I left them all my information yet they couldn't call me to tell me this?? I wasn't able to come back until Saturday. I also never received a call reminding me to come get my clothes. I tell a different girl at the front my story and she responds with, "I'm gonna have you talk to someone else because I'm texting the owner." .....woooow seriously?! Excellent customer service right there. The next girl couldn't be more put out to help me and after all this they only took one item for $3. I have never been so appalled and treated with such disrespect. Never coming to this franchise again. Not worth it. read more

I've been going to Plato's closet for as long as I can remember but I will never be returning. I've brought in tons of clothes here before and am continuously disappointed. I went here with a bag full of summer and fall clothes, not expecting them to take too much but they offered me $2 for one item. That's it. Just one item. Every time I go here I find something I really like but when I go to checkout some of the items "disappear" when I asked the employees if they had them they said no and didn't even make an effort to find them. I am surprised at how many one star reviews are here because I seriously love this store. Anytime I have a question- the girls always help me. They are always so kind and have even hooked me up with a discount over a mistake once. Which wasn't a huge deal but it was a super nice surprise and I still really appreciate it! :) I come back fairly often and I don't feel like the majority of these reviews are true. i was in recently in the store and while i was trying on clothes the two young girls at the register were talking extremely loudly about their relationships, sex life, and all sorts of inappropriate topics extremely loudly. they also were talking negatively about their manager and customers that were standing right in front of them. i felt so uncomfortable i left. read more

I went in and was alarmed by how outdated the clothes that were in the store. They did take some of my clothes but just like a lot of people on here, I should have done my research and gone somewhere else because I too had a lot of name brand items that were gently worn/ if worn that were not taken. I think the turning point for me was how rude the two workers that were there, they threw clothes around, threw pens with receipts at you and just overall not pleasant at all. I despise this place. I understand that the business has to make money, but when you are fortunate enough to sell through them, they give you the smallest amount of money for your items. I think they really low ball sellers of their items. I've sold items at this location about five times, and every time the unsold items are returned to me in the bag, they look like they're thrown in and were never attempted to be folded. They always have a terrible selection on Mens clothing and shoes that are in horrible condition but when I bring my clothes and shoes that are in great condition they don't offer anything. They offered 7 dollars for a pair of puma shoes that were only worn a couple times and sell for over $100 brand new. Brought in gucci heels and they didn't want them. Brought in a lightly used pair of basketball shoes and they said the basketball shoes were "too basketbally" because they were Kyries and they literally had a pair of Kyries on display for over $100. IMPORTANT: I simply went in to go shopping for some summer shirts. As I was walking around the store I hear the manager saying some very hurtful and disrespectful things to one of the teenage workers. I believe the managers name was Casey. She calls her workers " slutty whores" as they are checking customers out. Yes you did hear that correctly. A manager to many teenage girls should never be able to talk to them in such a way. I cannot and will not ever shop there with a manager who treats their employees in such a way. I feel awful for the girls who work here and cannot imagine what it must be like behind closed doors. If I was the owner of this store I would fire this manager because having this environment in a workplace makes it not only hard on the workers but also uncomfortable for the customers. Dropped clothes off to go thru- would be nice like others have said- would be nice if they actually would go thru what you bring- they rumpled up the top- didn't even go thru the bottom- I know because I had everything nicely folded- wasn't even touched- then they say wasn't good enough brands- hummm- if they would have looked they passed up madewell, lots of lu lu lemon, etc Don't waste your time going here anymore.
