This resale store is a great place to bring in your gentlly used items for some cash. Clothes have to be in good condition however. No stains, no odors, no rips, etc. you get my drift. Every location will have a list of what items they are looking to resell but most will take what's currently in style now. Just think of what the trends are right now and you should be good. They may or may not buy everything you bring in. If you bought a shirt for $50 at a retail store and Plato's Closet only offers you $2.. don't be mad. That's just how these resale stores work. You can also shop here too. You will notice that all the clothes, shoes , accessories here are previously owned and reasonably priced. Majority of the items sold here are geared towards the younger adults. Think high school to college. So with that in mind, these are the items that you should sell to Plato's Closet. I had a ton of clothes in my storage bins that I had outgrown so I brought them all here. I know they'll be put to good use. read more

I came with friends on a Monday to sell clothes and shop! The employees were friendly. They walked us through the selling process and opened fitting rooms for us. As far as selling goes, the process is pretty simple and only took around 45 minutes. They keep a list of all the items they're currently buying at the front of the store which is helpful. A warning for people with children, the music playing can sometimes be a little inappropriate. The store has a lot of inventory for sale. I didn't end up finding anything this time but I've had success with their jeans before. As far as pricing goes it's a little more expensive than Goodwill. I'll definitely be back to sell and shop again!! read more

A lot of trendy items not overpriced. Nice friendly staff. I purchased some NWOT Kino sandals $8.

A resale stote located in Waterford Towers. While I was here, it seemed more people were selling clothes than people were in the store shopping to buy. All in all, a decent store. read more

I've been to a lot of Plato's Closets over the years and I have the best experience at this location, everytime I go. The owner Audrey is so polite and sweet! Everytime I come, I hear how she speaks to the customers. She is so cordial and patient. The employees follow her lead and are also very kind. I've been to others locations where it seems as though they didn't really go through all of my stuff after I took the time to bring it to them. That's not the case here. It's evident that they carefully went through all of it and I came with like 10 boxes of clothes too. I know sometimes people get upset because they don't take all their stuff, but I understand that it's not personal. It's more about how much space they have in the store, what items are in season and what they need. That being said. They have a great selection. You can tell they worked hard to make use of every inch of space of the store. I was able to buy my son a pair of Jordans at a great price. If you are looking for a location to shop or bring your gently used items, don't hesitate to visit. read more

My husband & I shop at Plato's Closet everywhere we travel and this location is BY FAR the BEST one we've ever shopped in! It's clean, organized, has a great selection, friendly staff (the owner is so sweet!), and the store even smells good! We are so impressed with how good this store FEELS and will definitely come back any time we're in town! Highly recommend! read more

A big shout out to Audrey, I had absolutely no clue how the process of turning in clothes went and she explained it crystal clear while being efficient, every time I come to this store I feel nothing but good vibes keep it up guys! read more

It's always funny reading the negative reviews because people get so upset that Plato's doesn't buy all of their clothes they bring in, and they complain about the poor customer service. They have tons of people bringing in SACKS full of clothes every single day, they can't buy everything all the time! It's about their inventory, nothing personal! As for customer service, it's usually always a bunch of young-ish people just chatting and joking amongst each other behind the desk, but it's a used clothing store not a high end department store. I personally look past it and just accept it as the way they roll. They always know the rules and communicate well when it's time to, so just ignore their sidebar convos and lax service style, and enjoy all the unique finds on the racks! I personally love this location the most because it has such a huge selection and is always extremely trendy compared to the other locations. As for selling, their inventory is usually full and it's rare they'll buy anything from you, but for shopping, it's my favorite location to find things! read more

brought in four or five large bags and some brand new shoes and after less than 20 minutes the buy was processed, with only 2 boxes of shoes taken for $10. i've worked at a similar store chain so i am aware of the buy process and profit margin; however, i don't see how it is humanly possible to go through probably 200 clothing items in 20 minutes... especially seeing the condition a lot of the clothes on the floor were in and the lack of variety. i have not had a good experience at this plato's, buying or shopping. read more

You don't get anything close to what your clothes are worth, You can find other competitors or sell your stuff online to make better money tbh. read more

I was told as a old guy the clothes I was trying to turn in as I out grew them were not trendy enought even though I saw the same style Levi's for sale on a rack for 18 bucks. Not even going to bother taking anything else there as I sort out my closet read more

I didnt get the name of the girl at the cash register but she was really nice. I am just glad that i can sell my old clothes and shoes in this store. And the stuff that they dont buy from my collection, can be donated. I made 6 bucks for selling 1 top and 2 pairs of shoes. Thats still 6 bucks so im ok with it. They want the trendy and latest fashion so they can also sell it. read more

Plato's Closet - Trying to get rid of my old clothes and sell them here for a few bucks! - Women's Clothing Near Me - Orlando, Florida

every one who worked there was nice. walked around for a few minutes and I can honestly say 85% off the store was over priced. I've got new brand name stuff at Ross for cheaper read more

I am honestly very disappointed and disgusted at the employees that work here. Especially Ashley. I called in to see if they were able to buy my clothes since they are closing soon, the lady on the phone was very nice and I let them know how much I was bringing which was 2 bags and a medium container. She informed me that it would be fine. So the conversation on the phone was a very good experience. Yet when I got to the store as soon as I walked in with my 7 month old son. Ashley didn't greet me she looked very unhappy and was actually really rude. She asked if I had sold clothes there before and I told her no. Then she said again "you haven't sold at Plato's closet before?, but she spoke to me with an attitude in asking me that question. I responded by letting her know "yes I have sold but not at this specific location because I only sold in Virginia." She told me as courtesy to the buyers I should not show up after 8PM and that was the reason I called before going. I'm also upset because Ashley did not even look through most of my things. I folded clothes in a medium container and most of the clothes were still folded. The member then told me that she wasn't purchasing anything because they had high inventory yet a girl that came in with about the same amount after me they purchased more things from her. I don't understand their process if they choose to not look through people's belongings who are not white. It's unfortunate to have employees like Ashley. read more

This store has great variety prices are decent everything is separated by size and color coded so it makes everything easy to find they are separated by item like shirts rompers pants ever... the staff are ALL so friendly and helpful they will help you find whatever you need and even accommodate you while in the dressing room by finding you accessories or whatever you ask for I had a dress that was big and asked if she can grab be a belt of any kind and she bought back four and said I ddnt know which was ur style so I bought a few for you to choose from... amazing!!! They also will come and take some of your items and hold them at the from if they see you have a lot in hand because they don't have carts or carriages there which is very nice I've been here twice they have great sales in got 7 items for $16 cause they're saving a %70 off of Clarence items read more

I love Plato's closet but this store specifically has sooo many good items and the people are always helpful and friendly. They get a lot of good luxury and name brand items and sell it for so much less I love it! read more

I find new shoes here all the time. The prices are unexpectedly low. I really like this shop. I try to check out their new arrivals at least once a week. I've found jackets, watches and cloths, all at great prices and in really good condition. I would recommend them. read more

I've brought in some nice pieces of desired brands but am told they won't sell or aren't of style which isn't true. I see items in there for months that have stains, tears that look so outdated in fashion not a single soul is wearing it. They need to learn how to pick pieces better and the people that work there always seem to have an attitude or look like they hate their jobs, I recommend the one on east colonial they are much better and sell better pieces. Maybe this one just needs new staffing. And the pricing on some of these items is laughable. read more

I came in wearing my work uniform, clearly showing I just got off of work. I shopped around for 5 minutes and grabbed a few things I needed to try on. I kid you not I went to get a fitting room at 8:01 and the employee said " the fitting rooms close at 8.". Mind you, it's literally a minute past 8. I asked if I could just try on one thing and he said no they're closed. It's just a little frustrating that I couldn't try on one thing a minute after the fitting rooms closed :(. read more

Both girls that were there the day I came in were very sweet. I came to sell a big bag of clothing and they took every single last piece of clothing I brought in! I left with 85$ if you're hesitant to go to a Plato's closet check out this location! read more

put some clothes on ! the girls dress half naked it's gross !!! Plus some of them are really snotty and appear " bothered to help " . Awful store. Called ahead of time to see what they were taking and they said men's summer clothes. I brought in three bags of untouched men's clothes and waited in the store until I got the message they were done. The girls were rude and did not even go through the bags!! Horrible service and very rude employees that don't want to do their job. I would give 0 stars if I could. Complete waste of time it's, worth it to drive to a different location. read more

Mean and unkind employees. The selection of clothing, shoes and accessories are good, but the customer service is so unwelcoming it's uncomfortable. The girl at the counter, I believe her name is Ashley, has been rude on more than one occasion. The first time she had an attitude and almost seemed bothered that we had even come in. I let it go and chalked it up to her just having a bad day. I've worked in customer service for 6 years so working with different personalities I know not to take things personal, life happens and everyone has a story. However, this second time, months maybe even a year later, she still has the same bothered attitude and even tossed my ID onto the counter instead of handing it back to me when I came to claim my bags. I understand retail & customer service can really suck, but it cost you nothing to be kind. read more

I was beyond pissed leaving this store. I've sold to Plato's locations before with no problem, but not this one. I dropped off my bag to sell, was told it'd take 10-15 minutes, so I browsed around the store to kill the time. It ended up being about an hour before they told me my clothes were ready for pickup, they had not even taken a single thing out of my bag and looked through anything, and said they weren't buying any today. It'd been nice to hear when I turned them in if they weren't even gonna go through them. Don't waste your time selling here, they are way to picky and waste your time. They judge you based on when you walk in and either go through your stuff or don't, they did it to two other girls that walked in behind me. read more

Horrible experience. Brought in gently used bag of clothes. Was told to come back in 15 minutes so I returned after 20 minutes. Came back and the girl who took my clothes said my purchase was complete. The next girl grabs my bag and hands it back to me. Saying that my items were in great condition, but we're older styles. And that they only took items in style within a year. I understand personal taste with some of the items but I didn't know nice heels and jeans were out of style for college students. Will never be returning. Found the staff rude and fake. No about of fake niceness makes you actually nice. Apparently "vintage" is not their vortay... read more

However I have never sold anything to this store, I come in somewhat-often. The store is very organized and clean, there are regular sales such as 70%-90% off clearance and a grab bag event. I have bought two different items at two different times and both items were damaged. The first item was missing the button and the second has a rip beside the back pocket. I've never had this problem at other Plato's but they need to inspect the items they decide to sell. read more

Unbelievably rude staff. The only reason I'm giving 2 stars is because they had a good sale going on. While checking out, the girl (Syanne?) kept talking to the other girls working there and barely made eye contact. On top of the rude service, I stood at the counter for 5ish minutes before someone even acknowledged that I was there. Being alert and at least somewhat focused on your customer is how you're supposed to get people to shop there regularly. I will find a new location and hopefully some more helpful associates. read more

I came into platos closet on 11/26 to sell clothes. They told me I would be 10 15 minutes. I walked around for 20 minutes then asked again how much longer they told me another 15 min. Finally 50 minutes later they where finally done looking at my stuff. And they took nothing which is really frustrating. They always say they need certain things well they should advertise that. So you don't waste your time. read more

I was hesitant to come to this location based on some negative reviews, but I decided to try and sell my clothes here anyway. They didn't take much, but I thought all the folks working there were very pleasant, articulate and efficient. They were friendly and greeted me as soon as I came in and were quick to find me a fitting room. I decided to do the 5% off exchange for an item in the store from what they bought off me and still got a little cash back. Overall I felt happy that I checked out this location read more

I'm not a frequent shopper at this Plato's Closet, but I just happened to be in the area and decided to stop in. IT WAS SO HOT. The owners and management should be ashamed. I love this store, I shop at this store ALL the time.. however, the last two times I have been here in over the span of a month the heat is unbearable! Apparently, the front door is broken, and does not close all the way, letting all of the heat in. It is absolutely RIDICULOUS that customers have to shop in this, and even more RIDICULOUS that the employees have to work in these conditions. Where is the owner or store manager to fix this? read more

Tried selling clothes today for a third time, only this time I watched them look through my items. I swear the girl who looked through them just picked each item up for a second only to immediately put them back on the table. They do not check your items well and are so rude about how they choose things. Thy throw and stuff everything back into bags and toss them like it's trash. They have a script they tell people whenever they cannot take something which makes sense, but every time I go, I'm given the most sour and false act. It's almost like they resent every person who walks in because any time someone asks for help, I notice a rude reaction. read more

There's a lot of personal talk and 'task completion vs. customer service focus' behind the register. When one of them decides to make eye contact, it's often followed by a "___ will take care of you in a minute" so they can continue talking with someone else or typing on the computer. I only come for the merchandise - not an experience. The Colonial Drive location has this one beat (hands down, every time) with manners, friendliness and willingness to service customers promptly. read more
