Russell House was the first of its kind when it was established in 1951 as a licensed home for children with special needs. The seed for the home was planted when Mrs. Russell's doctor asked if she could care for a disabled child who had nowhere else to go. She agreed even though she had seven children of her own. Through the years the Russell House has cared for more than 1,500 physically and mentally challenged children. They have relied completely on private funding and revenue generated from this thrift store. There is a memorial statue for Vantrease Russell in Cypress Grove Park which neighbors the Russell House and often served as a place for Russell to take the children on outings. Russell Home Thrift is actually two stores side by side. There is the regular thrift store and a higher end boutique store next to it. Both sell gently used items donated by the community. The thrift store had an abundance of clothing for men, women, and children, accessories, household goods, faux florals, lamps, and books. Next door at the boutique you will find furniture, collectibles, name brand clothing and accessories, special occasion gowns, and a wedding dress corner. Russell Home is a worthy charity to support. Their legacy of supporting disabled children during a time when no one else was stepping up is remarkable. There is a varied inventory and prices are more than fair. All of the volunteers I spoke to were friendly and welcoming. Please consider supporting this worthy charity with your donations and funds. You just might find that one of a kind treasure.

It's a nice store for shopping for a good cause. They have a pretty good selection of the typical things you find in a thrift store. It's nice that there's no guess work the pricing on the clothing. The blouses and jeans are all $4-5 each! It's a great price! They're not for profit, so it's nice that they don't price gouge on the donated items like others.

This is the only place where I was told to round up and spend my hard earned money because they didn't accept pennies. This business is 100% profit, telling me I need to spend more on top of what I am already spending is unethical. I put examples like Target and Chicfila where they accept the loss and round up on their end. When I went to shop, I found an item I would have to purchase and since no 'SOLD' signage was on the item, I proceeded to take the barcode to the register. Only to be told it was sold 10 minutes prior, but the only one who knew about it was the register attendee, not the manager. I do not understand how no one proceeded to immediately tag the item as 'SOLD' seeing as there are 5-7 employees on the floor at all times and 1 at the register. Overall, the prices are outrageous and the employees aren't much better. Again I have always shopped here but it truly has gone downhill over the past year.

We used to love this Goodwill. I bought most of my clothes here because they were almost brand new…read moreand incredibly affordable. However, ever since they removed the fitting rooms, things have gone downhill. Their prices have become unreasonable. Today, my family and I visited this location around 10:40-11:30 a.m. My mom found an IKEA dresser priced at $50, which seemed fair for its condition. It wasn't marked as sold, so we took the price tag to the register. We were then told it had already been sold. We were confused because there was no sold tag on the dresser, and we were literally holding the price tag. The cashier told the manager it had been sold. When my mom asked when it had sold, another employee, who didn't seem to know anything about the situation, claimed it had sold 10 minutes earlier and removed the item. We were all shocked. How can an item be sold without being marked as sold, especially when we had the price tag? We continued shopping, and I found a used pair of American Eagle jeans priced at $16.99. That's ridiculous. I can go to Bealls, Walmart, or TJ Maxx and buy a brand-new pair of jeans for around $14.99 that will last much longer. Since this Goodwill no longer has fitting rooms and doesn't offer refunds, there's no reason to take that risk. We found a few toys for my little sister and headed to checkout. It was the same cashier from earlier. She didn't greet us or offer any customer service. As I started counting my cash and coins, she told me I had to round my total from $0.59 to $0.60 because they don't accept pennies. I had the exact amount due, so I didn't understand why I was expected to pay more because of their policy. The entire time, she had an attitude simply because I was paying with cash. The cashier then called over the same manager from earlier. Instead of calmly explaining the company policy, he simply looked at us and said, "Over a penny?" My response was, "Yes, money is money." As we walked away frustrated, he sarcastically said, "Have a great day," and I repeated it back. I'm honestly disappointed by the poor customer service and management at this location. Between the confusion over the dresser, the inflated prices, the lack of fitting rooms, and the dismissive attitudes from the staff, this was one of the worst experiences we've had here. We won't be returning anytime soon. It was especially upsetting that my little sister had to witness the entire situation after being so excited about the toys she picked out.

They have home goods, books, and other items, like most thrift locations in the area. One down side was the limited number of carts that you can use to shop. If you see one, snag it! The location is warehouse vibes, but clean and the aisles are kept clear. It also has the usual 'thrift shop' smell to it. It took over a previous big box store that closed all its locations nationwide, so it's got plenty of room for goods! Overall: A Easy to find something in all the offerings; grab a cart if you see it!

The store was well organized & clean, but carried a weird smell as most do lol They have lots of clothing options. Saw a few rows of Halloween costumes which is a great idea. I found some great pieces from free people that can be used for beach cover ups & a wicked Miami heat jersey shirt. I'll come back once I have more time. My three stars reflects from seeing lots of stains on items, so I'm not sure why they would sell that? But glad to see more thrift stores opening up reduces textile waste in landfills and lowers the demand for new clothing production.. I'm trying to give it a go!

We were greeted by the owner right away and he was very friendly in offering us any help in opening cabinets or reaching high items. It's a cute shop, with lots of knick-knacks and several racks of clothing. However, it's a bit overcrowded inside and there's little rhyme or reason to the organization. Be careful when moving around because the walkways are pretty tight and it can be scary to maneuver around the more delicate items. Price-wise, I think you're going to have to do a lot of digging to find good deals here. I saw a lot of the tags were marked down, but the overall cost is much higher than I would expect of a thrift shop like this. I ended up leaving because most of the full tea sets were $80-$100 and most of the tea cup + saucers were around $5-$10; which was more than I anticipated for just a party. Overall, I think it's a pretty cool place to explore on a rainy day or if you're looking for a nice activity on a random day, but be prepared to dig around if you're looking for a good deal.

Like Reebok & Eastport backpacks clothing and shoes, toys, school uniforms, pool supplies and life jackets. A lot of them seemed to be from Walmart. I googled the 'No Boundary' brand shoes displayed new (in boxes) for 9.99 and I saw Walmart had the same item for 16.99. The clothing was organized into categories like new, vintage, boutique and they put together attractive seasonal displays. Right now it was Christmas in July and back to school. The day I was there I saw a lot of people buying throw pillows and shopping the Disney and collectible items in the display cases. They had an extensive array of media books, DVDs and music. These items had the best prices. I was also impressed with the appliance prices and they were marked if the staff had tested and verified they worked. An almost new Panasonic microwave seemed like a steal for 19.99. Points for quirky items like a wall of old cords, various pot lids as well as new piñatas and children's toys. I loved the vintage doll houses and collectible Boyd's Bears display. They had bins of sunglasses both inexpensive and some better quality. They seem to have a few set price points. 1.99, 3.99, 5.99 and 9.99, 12.99 and 29.99. No sales tax is charged and they do not allow refunds or returns. Payments are cash or Clover for cards. Proceeds obviously benefit the club so that might also be why they had so many new and child focused items. There was plenty of staff putting out items and I saw the salesperson manning the checkouts helping a customer select sunglasses. Boys & Girls club had least 4 people working with two checkouts open on a weekday. To summarize I love that this is a shop where the experience is superior and similar to 'Out of the Closet' thrift. No digging through tons of used items to find a gem. A minus for me is the way the method they use to price items into pricing tiers. I think this does not always reflect the true used item value. I bought a an LL Bean shirt which looked almost new for $3.99 and a doggy car seat guard that had a chill pad feature and came in a storage backpack for 1.99.
