WARNING I recently took my 1997 Mitsubishi 3000gt SL into Platinum Tinting because I needed some old tints removed and replaced. I took my car  in and they did just that. Everything seemed good for a couple of days, until I began to notice the passenger door tint was peeling from the top corner. This had never happened before with my old tints, and after a closer inspection I saw the issue. A small tab that sits at the top corner of the door had been pulled down and was now out of place. This caused the tab to repeatedly hit the top portion of the vehicle, consequently, peeling the new tint off. I have attached pictures of my car with the old tints and you can clearly see where the tab was before it was moved out of place.  In these pictures you can see the sun mark of where the tab use to be. I have also attached pictures of how my car looks after Platinum Tinting worked on my vehicle. I understand that Platinum Tinting said they don't have to remove or relocate the tab to take off or apply the tints; but, the tab wasn't like that before or else I would have had the same issue with the tab peeling off my old tints. This mishap started shortly after they worked on my car and there is little to no chance it was done on my behalf. I provided all this information to the owner of  Platnium Tinting and he was extremely unfair/reluctant in understanding my situation and frustration. I really thought that Platinum Tinting was an established and respected business place; but, after this unfortunate experience I cannot with good faith recommend others to this buinsess. Especially, if there is the possibility of others' vehicles being mishandled and the warranty not being honored. Since I talked to Platinum Tinting I have fixed and put the table back into place; but, it is unfortunate that the tint on the right side of my vehicle remains wrinkled and with air bubbles. read more

Review long over due. Ended up having to take my truck in 3 times! Tint would either have debris in between it and the window. 2nd time tint had a slit, 3rd time was when there was a small knife slash in it so that's why the tint looked like it had a cut in it. Brand new 2022 silverado, and the cut wasn't there the previous 2 times going in. Got over it by the 3rd time. Also snapped a few door panel clips. Yeah, they say the tint has a life time warranty, but I'm not about to keep going back every other weekend with a other issue... rather go somewhere else... read more

BEWARE! I took my BRAND new car into this place and they broke my car handles and left the rubber vinyl out. They did not notify me that they had broken them. I took my car elsewhere to get fixed, and was told the parts were not cheap and will take a few months to arrive because of the pandemic so I had to wait a few months to get them. Now if the Tint shop would have done their job correctly and taken their time, I wouldn't have been dealing with this issue of spending my time and gas going to the shop to fix my car! The owner stated "sometimes we don't notice" LOL. That is not something you happen to miss! You know when you break something, COME ON. They did a horrible & sloppy job. Went here today to get some window tints removed off my car. The worker today fucked up when removing my tints and took the material that is used when the cars defroster is on. Basically my rear window defrost won't work due to their fuck up on removing my tints. I have to get a whole new back window because they removed that special material that comes on them normally. Would recommend they cover your stereo speakers and other sensitive/electrical car accessories as the liquid they use gets all over the place. It literally runs down the window and forms a puddle. For instance, I had my front windshield tinted and have two speakers on my dashboard. The amount of liquid that accumulated in that area made me shriek. I personally saw them work on my car for approximately 3hrs. Update: Did business with them again. Had vinyl put on my headlights to delete my Amber reflectors. Both headlights sustained about 4 razor cuts which I didn't appreciate considering how much I was charged. Furthermore, I personally don't like the fact that their rates aren't fixed. I was referred by my friend. I had an appointment today at three for my 2009 Toyota Prius. I was told it would be $200 flat, and the wait would be 2 to 3 hours. I got my '98 Chevy Astro tinted at Platinum today, and was very pleased with their work! Without an appointment they were able to fit me in on a busy Friday. My Chevy has 6 large back windows which required tint removal and application. My car looks way better and their dark tint is super solid, I can barely see through it. The tint job was decent on my 03 honda accord that was installed, however they had to remove the old tint. Bummed to write a bad review for this place after the great work they did on my husband's Mazda 6 last year. However, I took my Civic in last week to have the back window tinted and came out with the 3rd (center) brake light not working. Upon inspection, we discovered that the installer had cut the wires to that light when removing the rear speaker panel. When I called about to ask for a partial refund due to having to get my rear brake light repaired I was told that they weren't responsible for the damage. No refund was offered. The tint is peeling in a few areas, but I'm hesitant to take it back for fear of further damage to the vehicle. I'll try TCG next in Santa Cruz next time. read more

I would give this place no star if it was an option. Some advice. (1) don't take your car to his place! (2) if you do, don't pay for the warranty, they won't honor it (3) before you drive off, take a look at the interior around the window that was tinted. If you have light colored fabric interior you will notice staining caused from whatever cleaning agent they use. They also broke the brackets to my door pannels and there was significant bubbling in tint that never went away. When I confronted the owner about it , he said it wasn't their problem. I let him know I would let my attorney take care of it. Owners response - "i'm always being threatened to be taken to court" I don't think he realized how stupid of a statement that was. Anyway, my attorney did his job and had my money reimbursed and had them pay for the repair of my door panels and professionally clean my interior. Call other places and compare pricing. It's got that "bro" shop vibe so I wouldn't go here if you don't like that. They fixed my issue without hesitation and made it right when I went back in. Don't let these idiots anywhere near your car. THEYRE NOT AFRAID TO DAMAGE IT. First off, they broke my driver's window doing the initial $160 install. They broke a clip holding my window in place so it could no longer roll up and down. After threatening to sue they finally ordered the part, and after having to drive around with my window up for a good month, they were ready to fix it. Now at least my Windows work, but now two months later the film starts peeling and shrinking. Called Thursday afternoon to ask if I needed an appt for Friday .An employee said no not necessary, just call Friday and we will take care of it.Friday I call ask if I need an appt , employee said no just come in..ok so I go there and there isn't any real office, no one to greet customers and very disorganized....employees munching on hamburgers, a couple guys doing windows and I don't know who I'm supposed to talk to, so I'm just waiting walking around when a guy doing windows asks if I need help...duh...umm yea Id like to get my windows tinted,the guy says ok and the wait is over two hours to get my car in the building not including installation...the guy says you can wait if you want.I said ok....where do I wait....in there he says....the dungeon is what I call it now. I sat for a minute as left....there is no way I could ever recommend this place to anyone if they don't care about customer service. Quality: Low Do NOT go here if you want the job done right. Go here if you want a cheap job on a vehicle you don't really care too much about. You get what you pay for. This shop originally did work on my car earlier this year. They did a decent job the first around. I can't complain. Plus it was pretty cheap compared to other shops in the area. Also, they were really good about fixing bubbles, wrinkles, etc. after the job was completed. Good enough for me to recommend several of my friends (from So Cal & the Bay Area) looking for an affordable window tinting place. I recently had to replace my back driver's side window so I just needed that particular window to be tinted. I got several quotes from other professional places, but they all told me the same thing...their film is of higher quality and would not look the same on my car. I would either have to pay to re-tint the entire car with high quality film elsewhere or pay $35 at this place to tint one window. I figured I don't need to re-tint my entire car, so I'll see if they can just tint one window with the same film. Worst mistake! I should've paid to get the job done right. Not only did they use the wrong tint film/level, but they left visible bubbles, wrinkles, etc. throughout the window. Customer Service: Appalling Not only was the job quality low, but their customer service was border line "shameful." Worst customer experience I have ever received in the bay area/central coast. When I drove off I noticed that the tint level of the window I had tinted was off (compared to the rest of the windows which were done with the same film) which I found to be kind of odd. Not a problem right? I called and spoke with an older male who gave me a hard time about it and basically wanted to charge me again to have it fixed. Why would I pay again for someone not doing their job right the first time? I trusted these guys as tint specialists to figure out the difference when it comes to tint levels, especially if they did the job the first time around, with the same film. After I questioned why I would be charged again he had the audacity to say "go elsewhere if you want, go for it, we're the best, can't find a better place around here." What business and/or associate in their right mind would avoid an issue and encourage a returning customer to go elsewhere? You simply fix the problem and keep that customer satisfied. THAT same customer will eventually bring you more business. Long story short, shop manager, latino male w/tattoos, got on the phone and told me to "stop bitching" and also suggested that I go elsewhere if I don't like it. I told him that I have recommended many of my friends to his shop and don't appreciate his customer service, especially being a representative of the company. He said, "I don't give a sh** about who you recommend to the shop, I don't need them" and told me "come to the shop and tell me to my face if you have a problem." What business talks to their customers like that? Great business owners never burn bridges with returning customers, especially over a $35 job that could've been easily resolved. He must not know that customer retention has a direct impact on profitability. Believe me, this particular location is far from the best, but they are one of the "cheapest" in the area. As I previously mentioned, go here if you want a cheap job on a vehicle you don't really care too much about. You get what you pay for. I have heard great things about their Gilroy shop, so I hope the owner, Jesse G., takes note of this incident and acts accordingly. Seriously, so disappointed by this business. First and foremost they are unprofessional, rude, and they did an awful job on my brand new car! They scratched my back windows up so badly, I am livid! I took it back to get it fixed, and of course nothing got done! Complete waste of my time!! My car now looks awful because of them! They tried to blame the damage on the dealer which is beyond me because my car is less than 2 months old and I got it with no single scratch on it. I took my car in to get it checked by an advisor and sure enough I was told it was a poor and shitty window tint job. We also payed for the extended warranty when getting the tint just to find out they wanted to charge us again to remove it and redo the job. In all honesty, you shouldn't be running a business if you can't even speak with customers properly and take accountability for something YOU did poorly. Luckily they agreed to replace my back windows since THEY were the ones who damaged them and scratched them all up in the first place but my windows still haven't got fixed.. still waiting! They said the car was too new of a car and the dealers he called didn't have them in stock. (Bullshit) Now here I am, having to deal with this dilema on a brand new car that shouldn't have any issues at all but now does unfortunately because of them. They kept my money of course, offered to replace my back windows but like I said, it's been 2 weeks and nothing has got fixed yet! So unprofessional!!
