When I purchased my home 10 years ago we were told we would need a new furnace within 5 years. When the time came we searched for a local company to install a new furnace. When we called Platinum Home Service I was put in touch with Jeff. We spoke on the phone for quite sometime as I had lots of questions for him. He was very knowledgeable and friendly and answered all of my questions without hesitation. At the end of the conversation we setup an appointment for him to come to my house to give me a price for the new furnace. He arrived on time and was very professional. After we came to the conclusion of which furnace we should use he gave me the price. Without hesitation we agreed to use them as our installer. The process was easy they came to the house and installed a high efficiency Goodman furnace accompanied by a Nest Thermostat. It has been 5 years and the equipment has been working flawlessly and with the high efficiency furnace coupled with the new thermostat our gas utility bill has dramatically decreased. The unit has paid for itself. Now we are in the process of having a central air conditioning unit installed and guess who is doing the work ????? I would recommend them to anyone they are clean, courteous, and very knowledgeable and do excellent work. read more

I had a service appointment with Platinum Home Services on July 30th, with an arrival window of 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Before the appointment, I was told the service would take about two hours. Based on that, I scheduled two appointments for later that day. When the technician had not arrived by 10 a.m., I called the office for an update. The employee who answered was extremely rude, dismissive, and unprofessional. Rather than addressing my reasonable questions about timing, she raised her voice and insisted that I could not leave the technician alone in the house. I explained that someone would remain at the house, but she wouldn't be able to answer his questions, and I was simply trying to determine when the technician would arrive. When I politely asked her not to raise her voice, she denied yelling but continued in the same raised and dismissive manner. Because of the uncertainty and the delay, I had to cancel my first appointment, which cost me $200. The technician finally arrived at 1:10 PM, later than the window they gave me. Before I left for my second appointment, I specifically asked the technician to call me before leaving my home so I could discuss the work and ask a few questions. Someone remained at the house while the service was completed, but the technician left without contacting me as requested, leaving several of my questions unanswered. Four days later, I still had concerns, including a text message stating that my furnace filter was "very dirty", even though I had replaced it less than a month earlier. When I contacted the office again to ask about this, I spoke with the same employee. Rather than addressing my questions professionally, she became argumentative, asked irrelevant personal questions about whether I had pets or ongoing construction, and repeatedly insisted that my brand-new condominium was an old, dirty house, even after I corrected her. Overall, my experience with Platinum Home Services was very disappointing. While the technician completed the work, the scheduling process was frustrating, communication was poor, and my interactions with the office staff were consistently rude, dismissive, and unprofessional. Worst plumbing service I've experienced. They were assigned by a home warranty company, but working with them has been a nightmare. They keep trying to dodge the work assigned to them by the warranty company and push it off to other trades, who come and see this is clearly an plumbing issue and bounce it back to Platinum Home Services. The entire time Platinum Home Services is incredibly rude and difficult to work with. If you do get assigned them by a warranty company, my recommendation is that you reject the assignment and ask for another service provider. Their services are essentially free, but even that is a terrible value. read more

Usually, when I write a review for a company, it's to say I'm happy with the services, but in this case, I felt I had to warn people who have an older AC system about Platinum Home Services by letting you know what happened to us. Our AC was working, but we felt that our fan was possibly not blowing the cold air around as well once the system reached the temp that was set on the thermostat. We were having a party the following weekend and thought it would be smart to have the fan checked out. The Platinum Home Services rep. came and told us that we had a bad capacitor, so a new one was placed in the box in our attic. The rep. and I went out to the yard to look at the condenser and chit-chatted about how our system is older, but working fine. I was told we had a GOOD system by the service rep. I went back into the house, and the service rep. went to his truck to retrieve the cost so I could pay. As I waited for him, I felt the air coming out of my kitchen vent go warm and then hot. I quickly felt the air under all of our downstairs vents, and they all had hot air blowing out. The Platinum Service rep. came back in with the invoice, and I commented that something was wrong bc the vents were all blowing hot air now. He said to wait a while and promised that the system would blow cold air again in a few mins. I wrote the check, and he left. The air NEVER got cold again. I called the office to let them know what happened, and they sent a different rep. over the next day to fix things. The 2nd rep. came and went into the attic. After a few mins, he came into my kitchen and said that our system was "DONE" and needed to be totally replaced... meaning that they couldn't fix it and our whole system needed to be ripped out! I was told that they would do this for the "low price" of $8,800. I was stunned. I said that our system was working before they came the day before... how can this happen? I was told that it wasn't their fault... that it was just a "coincidence" that our working system blew up after they put in their new part. Before I called Platinum, our AC was blowing very cold air, and we just wanted to make sure that the fan was working correctly. My husband and I were disgusted with them. That same day, we called another company to get a 2nd opinion. The new company came the next day and told us that even though our system was older (almost 20 years), it was a great system and of course he could get it to work again. When the new company investigated the issues, they found that the AC's electrical breaker was "blown" and that our control board had was burned out. These things could not have happened before Platinum came and put their capacitor in because, like I said, our system was working before they showed up that 1st day. Our system wouldn't have been able to work with a "blown" breaker and a burnt control board. We were misled by Platinum Home Services. The only option they gave us was to put in a new system. They never even gave us the option of fixing things (things they broke, honestly). Having our system FIXED by the new company cost us a fraction of the cost of a new system. Platinum would prefer to receive $8,800. for installing a new system, rather than fixing our system and receiving less. Not very customer-focused. After our NEW company fixed our system for $1,220, we were very happy with our AC (it's almost too cold in here now), but it upset us that we had this bill at all. On top of the $1220., we also had to pay an electrician over $300. to fix the breaker Platinum blew, as well as pay for the capacitor ($300.) that Platinum installed, which started this whole mess. We asked them to reimburse us for the Electrician, the Control Board, and the Capacitor. We felt that it was fair to ask for a credit for just those items. We didn't ask them for many other items that we were invoiced for. Platinum said "NO" and then made a comment about how we decided to call someone else in to deal with it, as if that bothered them. Why on earth would we NOT get a 2nd opinion after what happened? We're so glad that we got a 2nd opinion and got our system fixed. The truth is that it WAS FIXABLE for thousands less. A lot of people have older systems, and the right contractors may be able to fix them. Always get a 2nd opinion. We didn't appreciate that Platinum Home Services made it seem that our only choice was to pay them almost $9,000. for a new system. Sooner rather than later, we know we'll have to install a new system, but we do not trust Platinum Home Services to tell us when that day is, that's for sure. We will not be using Platinum Services ever again, and we absolutely would NOT recommend them to anyone. I wasn't surprised to see other bad reviews here. read more

This company provides TERRIBLE service. The woman that answers the phone, Kate, to be a receptionist is very pretentious. She offers her opinion as fact, when in fact she's not even a technician, and has an attitude when speaking with customers. She lacks professionalism and poise. The technicians do shoddy work and take no accountability when they miss steps within the process causing further problems, delays, and repair needs to the operability of your home. Example, installing a new water heater. The technician/plumber/actor, installed a new after heater, however, he immediately observed that the hot water in my shower/tub had low pressure and never addressed the matter, simply left and write it up as a "shower issue". When in fact there had never been an issue with hot water pressure in the shower/tub prior. What he failed to do was proper flushing and valve checks, which are standard procedure to ensure functionality. The low hot water pressure was observed by the technician as soon as he completed the install , and he should have gone over his work and cleared the aerators and certainly should have corrected the issue to ensure proper flow prior to leaving. When I called Platinum Home Services to request them return and fix the issue, the receptionist -not a technician- Kate, refused multiple requests, and told me that it was a "shower problem" and I would have to put in a new work order. Kate, the receptionist also in her boorish/churlish/arrogant manner, kept telling me the manager/owner was busy when I asked to speak with him. This company is deeply committed in untruthful practices and should not be allowed in anyone else's home. read more

I wished I could give 0 stars... My recommendation is to go with another company...I made the mistake of selecting the "cheaper" quote and I am regretting my decision. I hired them to install new combo unit (Navien) and 2 wall mounted mini splits in my apartment. Here is a list of mistakes / inefficiencies working with Platinum Home Services: 1) They never close the permit with the town. It was closed only after my personal involvement with building inspector. 2) The combo unit Navien was installed incorrectly and a slow but steady leak caused severe damage on the unit 3) Even after the unit was serviced by them and I asked specifically to check if the unit was ok - they failed to noticed anything was wrong 4) And yes, as many have pointed out here - the customer services is not useful and borderline rude. I am not happy to write a negative review but their "service" or lack their off is causing me thousand of dollars in repair work that could have been avoided. read more

Platinum home services was contracted out to handle our broken heat pump this week. Their scheduling service repeatedly misunderstood and scheduled inaccurate arrivals. They said they'd reach out to schedule a time, they did not reach out and at 11:44a said they'd be there between 12-4. I was at work so called to say i could be there after 2. They made it sound like they'd put a request for that but never confirmed and nobody arrived of course. I called back and they were mad that I thought someone would come by because "they said they couldn't get someone". They told me to contact the original company that contracted them out but I could not because it's my landlords house so they were pissy about explaining that to me. I spoke to my landlord and they called this morning to schedule something, we confirmed together the availability. They called me to confirm and it was the wrong availability. I know it's not my landlords fault because we reviewed that together and they wrote it down. The company was frustrated again that the availability was wrong and now I have to wait another day or two for heat in this house. Give that phone scheduler person a vacation or pay someone more competent because she is just at her wits end and has no patience for simple questions, gets everything wrong, and just gets mad at customers when she is the incompetent one. We were very satisfied with Platinum Home Services! We woke up to no hot water and a wet floor in the basement. I called, the office manager picked up within seconds, she was very informative and attentive to our situation. We had someone come out within 3 hours and a hot water tank was removed and replaced all in the same day! The price was right and the tech Chris was professional, very knowledgeable, and helpful in explaining the pricing in detail. He even vacuumed up some of our wet basement floor. It was a huge mistake, using this company. They installed a new furnace. It malfunctioned three days after it got up and running. Two techs on two days in a row couldn't find what was wrong. They charged me for something I didn't need, then wouldn't refund the money. They refused to fix all the problems they created, under the warranty, and the company I hired to fix it said Platinum did it wrong. Platinum blamed me and my condo association for what they did wrong. Check them on the Better Business Bureau first!!!!! read more

Steve showed up at the three hour mark, located the issue, one trip to the van and ten minutes later fixed. Quick, courteous and professional. Even gave some great technical advice. I want to first say that the service was horrible, dont believe what the service tech all the way up to the owner Roger says. they lied to me about the service that was never complete and lied to me about the cost. i run a small steel company and called randomly called them. it took almost 2 months to do a small job and they still have not completed it to my liking. be aware of Roger, the owner. he will trick you into buying things not necessary for the job. very very disappointed and very angry at platinum home services, it should be call FAKE HOME SERVICES, please call us so we can take your money and lie to you, BS!!! read more

Very dissatisfied with the service we received from Platinum Home Services. Our ac was leaking and dripping into one of our bedrooms. We called Platinum to come out and look. The technician looked and said there was probably a leak somewhere and we would need an air leak test performed. Said it would cost $725 and we could put a downpayment down of $350 and they would come out and do it the following week. He said he temporarily fixed it and we would be good through the (very hot) weekend. An hour later, it was leaking again. Upon calling, we were told no one could come out until Tuesday of the following week. Desperate to have ac for the weekend, we called another company who came the same day, found the problem right away, fixed it and said there was no need for an air leak test. It hasn't leaked since and this was a month ago. We called Platinum asking for a refund and were told we'd get it minus the cost of the service call. After receiving nothing, we called again and were told the $350 WAS the cost of the service call and we weren't due any refund. Absolutely ridiculous we'd pay $350 when nothing was fixed. The office personnel told us we could "try" dealing with the owner and gave us his e-mail. We have him a chance to explain and work it out with us, but never even received a reply. So beware before using them, not sure they care about customer service. read more
