So at 3am I started emailing all the HVAC companies I could find via Yelp and Angi. I emailed over a dozen companies. Only two got back to me. The first one was " positive it was my entire furnace and I was looking at between $5K -$8k depending on the size I needed. Mind you this is without even coming to my house. Charles from Fitzy called me around 6am. We talked for a few minutes and he said he could be there around 8 and see what we were looking at. By 11 he had diagnosed that it was the fan motor. Went through the rest of the furnace to make sure nothing else was broken , went to pick up the part and had me up and running. With the temps going to drop to single digits this weekend , I was concerned. Thanks to Charles I have heat and for far less than what I know someone else would have charged.

I recently had the need for a plumber, it wasn't an emergency but I did hope to have it done within…read morea few days. I had use another plumber on several occasions and had always been happy with the work done. That was then, this is now. It seems my former plumber has retired, but his son(s) now run the business. I called the number I had and left a message, after a day and a half waiting I called back, left another message and did receive a call back. Sadly, I was not able to take the call when it came in and they were forced to leave a message. The problem was the person who left the message spoke so fast and was so unclear I had no idea what they had said. I then called for the 3rd time and spoke to a young girl who answered and said her mother made all the appointment so she couldn't help me. Four days after my 1st call still no appointment was set up; this is when I turned to Yelp! and found C. W. Cummings. I can not tell you how much I appreciated the fact that a PERSON answered their phone. I was able to get an appointment for Monday morning (I called on a Friday). They gave me a 8 AM appointment . On the day of the appointment, I got a call at 8:05 am saying that they were running a little behind but where on their way, at 8:20 am they arrived. All I could think about was how many times I had made an appointment and was given a window of time in which to wait, and how often those people never show up early or even within the window. I was completely taken aback that a) they called to say they were running a little late and b) apologize for the delay and then arrive 15 minutes sooner than the half hour they said they thought they would be. Ken, the Master Plumber and his apprentice were both well mannered and extremely professional. They came in and asked to see the work. (I was replacing a toilet and needed to have my dryer vent hose replaced.) I had already bought the toilet and accordion tubing for the vent (it was not long enough and needed a solid tube extension to what was there). Ken told me the SET price for each job, then asked if I wanted him to start the job. I don't know anyone who would say that hiring a plumber was inexpensive, but I have to say the cost was more than reasonable, considering that they where here for 2 and 1/2 hours and left without the slightest sign they had even done any work. If you need a plumber who not only answers their phone, but is considerate that your time is as valuable as theirs I HIGHLY recommend C.W.Cummings.

I have been dealing with Atlantic for several years, and in my opinion, they are one of the best…read moreplumbing and heating supply companies in the state of Rhode Island! They have a good selection of plumbing supplies - not just for newer plumbing, but for old, oddball plumbing - the kind of stuff that Home Depot wouldn't have. Whether you are plumbing new-construction houses, or repairing plumbing on a 100-year-old house, they've got you covered. Coverage of heating supplies is equally impressive. Some supply houses focus on boilers (heating with water or steam), while others focus on furnaces (heating with air), but Atlantic has parts for both boilers and furnaces, as well as air conditioning and even oil burners. They truly are a one-stop supply house. The selection is amazing, and their service is equally good, both in product knowledge, and speed at putting your order together. John, the owner, has helped me troubleshoot difficult oil burner problems. The countermen - including Anthony, Joe and Ryan - are all excellent, and some of the fastest countermen I've had the pleasure to deal with (and I've dealt with plenty of slooooow countermen at other supply companies). All of them have very lively personalities, too. I've had many laughs and fun times there, which is rare for a plumbing supply company. While they cater mainly to plumbing, heating and HVAC professionals, I have seen them help homeowners also. They are located off Tiogue Avenue (they are set back a ways off the road, behind CPM Automotive). Just be careful when you are pulling back out onto Tiogue Avenue (especially if you are turning left), because it is a very busy road, and vehicles travel relatively fast.

We were moving into a new home that had no hot water. We purchased a new hot water heater and burner from Automatic Heating Equipment in Providence, RI. We contacted our planned oil company (Petro), which we were planning to use for oil delivery, to install the new system. I explained that I had the tank plumbed in and just needed someone to install the burner. They said even though it was brand new heater and burner in the box, because they didn't provide it, they would not install it. We scrambled around and found Bill's Heating. I explained the situation to Bill over text and the urgency. Bill's technician Eric came out the next day and had us all connected and tuned-up. Bill's Heating Service is a hidden gem of business! They were incredibly responsive, friendly, thorough, and very very reasonably priced. I honestly can't say enough good things about this business. They solved a stressful situation of no hot water, so we could focus on packing and our move. I highly recommend Bill's Heating Service. A+++ service. Thank you!!!
