In addition to the branch removals, tree shaping and trimming, Matthew took the time to replace an old cable on our biggest locust that he saw was cutting into the bark with a superior cabling system. He and his crew were all so helpful, pleasant, and respectful of the yard and garden. Despite all the heavy branches that needed trimming, there was no damage to anything and cleanup was above and beyond. Within about an hour, actually. - Gave an estimate on the spot. - Offered to have a crew out the very next morning. - Was actually willing to take down both trees and haul the wood (three companies declined to handle one or both trees for various reasons). - Didn't try to upsell me on any services. - Didn't try to get me to tear down parts of my fence or remove limbs from other nearby trees. - After I strung them along for over a week while I collected other bids, they were STILL able to be there the next morning after I signed. - Completed the work in an hour less than the estimated time. While I initially thought the estimate seemed high, it turned out to be half of what the other companies wanted to charge (of those that were even willing to do the job). There's a lot of variance between what these companies are willing to do and how much they charge for it. I'm glad I went with Luke, Loren, & the guys, and I'll be recommending them to the neighbors.

We hired Mike's Affordable Tree Service to take down several trees on our property that were too…read moreclose to the house and/or were dangerous trees that needed to go before the next wind storm took them down. Initially Mike came out to evaluate the trees we were concerned about, and he made recommendations for those as well as a few others we were not even aware had problems. His bid was extremely fair and reasonable (hence the name of his company), and we scheduled a day for him to come out to do the work. On the day of the job, Mike arrived exactly when he had promised to be there, and got to work right away. It was a pleasure watching him 'do his thing'--he is certainly an expert in safe tree removal, as was very evident in watching him work. We had a couple of trees that were very close to our house and also right along the property line next to our neighbor's house. Mike expertly removed all of the limbs, dropping them carefully into a neat pile on our side of the line. He then skillfully took the trees down in sections, laying them precisely where they needed to go. I also appreciated the time he took to take the trees down in sections suitable for us to be able to sell the logs, and the referral for a log truck driver to help us deliver them to the mill (which helped offset the cost of taking the trees down). My wife and I have nothing but great things to say about Mike Mohney, and Mike's Affordable Tree Service. To completely ghost me and not even respond after agreeing to do the project is some of the most unprofessional behavior I've ever encountered. If he doesn't want to do my project, fine. Just be a decent human and tell me. Now I am several weeks behind on my project. Please save yourself weeks of headache and choose a different company!
