I was a little nervous coming in as I've seen recent reviews, so I scheduled a haircut and figured based on the vibe, I'd schedule color and such later. I had NOTHING to be afraid of. The vibe is calm, unrushed, and most importantly, friendly! The owner checked me in, and she was super friendly. It wasn't overcrowded, and the music was at a reasonable volume. I felt really comfortable from the minute I walked in the door. Ceci did my hair. She's patient, thoughtful, customer focused and did a great job helping me convert a pixie bob in that awkward grow out phase to a cute textured bob. Aveda products - YAY! Needless to say, I've already scheduled a color appointment, and Ceci was kind enough to give me rough estimates for what I would like to do, though I'll plan ahead since I know it's tough to get an accurate final cost since that can depend on so much. I went in for a consultation with a photo of a color I had done on my hair last year, it was a multicolor highlightfor grey blending with some carmel streaks(the girl that did it retired). Tawny said yes she could do a "dimensional color". So I made an appt and saved money for it. Day of the appt.. showed the photo again.., discussed the "money peiece" in the front. Tawny parted off the money piece ear to ear around my face...and put bleach on all of it...no dimensional colors, no grey blending foils..she did to dimensional foils on the rest of it. So I had a yellow golden blonde around my face with a demarcation line looking like I was bald to the color in back on on the sides..I called upset..Tawny the owner said it's a easy fix ..so I went back..still no foils of dimensional color around face. She stuck on some toner on the bangs and its now red, a different toner on the sides that don't match. And when she did my brow tint.. a bit fell on my bangs and a dark spot is there..the toner didn't cover that and she didn't get it all out. So not I have a partial dimensional blobe in the back of my head, reds on the front and dark..no blonde dimensional, still a black slpothch..I asked for a refund as I need to get it fixed . After paying $288, and a tip.. she would only refund $60.DO JOT GO HERE FOR GERY BLEND DIMENSIONAL COLOR..I get she attempted a fix to cover her mess up, I get she offered only 60 buks..but my hair is fucked up, I have to pay another salon to fix it before my trip in 3 days. To make me not repost this tradgey she as the owner knows she should refund all of my $288..not just 60(I took that to just get something back..) I want the rest of my money back, as I will post on Facebook, Yelp and BBB as well. Mame..if you see this refund all of my money plz. Note to her response: it was not 4 hours.. and sad that she just defends herself..I get it. Still not happy.. read more

Very long story cut short, I went from being blonde to a color that doesn't even exist. My visit was terrible and I was not treated with respect or any kind of consideration for my hair. I asked to have my roots touched up and a platinum hair color thrown in as I usually get. That was not the case I came out orange in the roots and dark grey. I am so disappointed in the lack of treatment I received from such "professionals". Not to mention the owner went out for a smoke break every 10 minutes reeking of cigarettes. I have never been here before. But after the horrible job someone had done on my hair; I had to find a better stylist to fix my hair. I had contacted the owner and gave her my info, she scheduled me an appointment. She treated me well, took time on my hair and even styled it at the end so I knew how it looked dry. I am so happy with my hair now! Thanks so much!! I strongly recommend this hair studio. I would like to change my review to zero stars. The owner did contact me, not to make it right , but to tell me how i feel is wrong. Its now been about a month since i had my hair done, you cannot even tell i had it cut styled or highlighted. It was a complete waste of money. I will never go back. The ladies here are amazing and super helpful, and full of hair knowledge, when no appointments were available they still had me come in to see what can be done and the end result after making an appointment was excellent. I have taken my daughter here three times. She has only had color in her hair 3 Times and only from platinum. She first seen Amanda and when she left she referred Amber which they both treated my daughter nicely and my daughter felt comfortable. When she asked for highlights for Christmas this year Amber was booked but we had 2 great experiences so I didn't think twice when I booked with the open stylist. After she got her hair colored she was very quiet and I went back to work then the next morning she asked if we can get her hair fixed as it wasn't right, when I looked it was an orange color and the a very think chunk the size of my palm and wasn't even close to the roots. It was a mess.. of course now I know why the stylist didn't style her hair like the other 2 from before. She also charged for a toner which didn't ask before she did it.. my daughter requested the same Color all three times not sure why the stylist didn't look at her card to review. not sure if she's new but she didn't even talk with my daughter like most stylists. I had to call a close friend to come all the way down from aurora to fix it before her competition...it was so hurtful knowing that we felt comfortable at the salon as it has such a great environment and this had to happen. I will say though, I find it kind of weird and unprofessional that the owners insist on playing jesus music in the salon. I have known the owner of the salon for several years she is professional, amazing and she has an Aveda exclusive salon. The Aveda products speak for themselves and her staff is absolutely amazing and professional as well!! I highly recommend the salon to anyone that is looking for amazing cut, color and style!! This is by far the best salon in the north! I started coming here shortly after they opened. I have been using Tawny ever since. She is a master stylist. She has always listioned to me and will give me her thoughts too. I have gotten highlights, lowlights and some fun peekaboo colors. They use only Aveda products which are natural products that are not harsh on your hair. Having fine blonde hair I have had issues with over processing and frizzy ends. Not anymore!! There is a price point for everyone. I have gotten to know all the stylists that work here and they all do amazing work. Platinum Hair Studio has the best stylists and products. If I could leave this place zero stars this is what it would get. I set an appointment with the nice lady named Veronica couple days ago. I asked her to fix my daughters hair because we bleached it and it wasn't perfect. She let me know that that would not be a problem that I would come in for a consultation and she would then have time to do my daughters hair. Yesterday the day before my appointment I got a call from somebody named Amanda warning my credit card information ahead of time to bill me yesterday for stuff not yet rendered. Not just a deposit BUT THE WHOLE AMOUNT!! ( an unknown number because we had not had a consultation yet! ) I thought it was a scam so I hung up. Come to find out today I called to see if I still have an appointment and she tells me that she canceled it because I didn't pay ahead of time. One of my best friends owned a salon In MN, and for years I would wait until I flew home to get a haircut. Now that she has moved to Atlanta, I am so thankful that I found this salon. Kaylyn gave me the best haircut I've had in years! It's now weeks later and I'm writing this review because I can't get over how great my hair looks and how easy it is to style! I've been to Platinum Hair Studio once and had a wonderful experience. I had Stephanie, and she was a blast. My previous stylist had 20+ years experience, but I found I wasn't enjoying the overall experience when getting my hair done. Although Stephanie is newer to the industry, she was professional, took her time, offered recommendations and did a great job with my color. Tawny was a super nice lady. However just being super nice was all I could say. I wish I could say she did a great job but I went to her twice, the 1st time I told her that I have red undertones and absolutely don't want red hair so she would have to use and ash blonde to keep the light colored streaks from turning red. I guess she didn't believe me, and I left with RED hair. But she is super nice so I gave it another chance. I wish so much that I had never gone back!!!!! She knew I didn't want red hair, I told her I didn't want layers, as the layers I used to have were almost grown out, and she talked me into bangs (which I really didn't want either) but agreed to do just a few long bangs framing my face. WORST HAIRCUT EVER!!!!!!!!! She pulled all the hair from the top of my head forward, twisted the hair and cut super short bangs. (Picture Joe dirt!) I had no idea she was going to make that cut, and when she did it was too late. Not only that, she cut the worst layers I've ever had, and yes... My hair was red when I left. This was 6 months ago and I still have to wear a headband or pins to keep the hair on the top of my head pushed back. I have NEVER cried over something like a haircut before now. I look so horrible. And all I can do is wait until it finally grows out. I do go to someone else now who fixed the color, but other than waiting, there is nothing else I can do. The hairstylist I have now couldn't believe anyone with a license would have done that to my hair. Even my husband who always nothing but great positive things to say, told me it's the worst haircut he's ever seen. Every time I look in the mirror I want to cry. I don't even look like me at all. I wouldn't go back there for a million dollars! So I walked out of there with 3 things I DIDN'T want. Two of which I specifically told her I didn't want. Honestly I used to love this place!!!! It is super close to home and every time I came in everyone was nice!!! They even did my wedding hair! But recently I have no idea what happened! I wanted silver hair! I was already blonde and pretty light to get what I desired! I came in on Tuesday and that was my biggest mistake. I showed the hair stylist what I wanted and I ended up walking out with BROWN HAIR NOT SILVER!!!! Literally all my hard work for light hair was gone! So I told them I want them to fix it! They said they would do a cleanse on my hair to get the color out, but lied because they ended up doing a shampoo bleach. Which made my hair YELLOW and so BRASSY!!! It was way worse then when I first came in!! I was mortified!! They all were trying to figure out what to do with my hair! Like no one knew what to do and that was a bad sign! Second no one apologized and said I'm sorry we messed up your hair and we will refund you and fix your hair! No one said that. My hair stylist is the only one who didn't want me to go home without refunding me.The owner totally didn't want to give me a refund! I literally walked out with damaged hair that was yellow and brassy! When I originally came in with healthy light blonde hair. My hair is a mess and now I have to find someone who can fix it for an affordable price without totally wrecking it with bleach to get to where I was. I am so angry and so hurt that I was sent away with no apology and no effort to care to fix my hair. They just want to charge me to come in again so they can fix their mistake! I will never ever come back here!!!! Be warned! If you want silver hair go somewhere else and if you want stylists who know what to do when they mess up then do not go here!!!! If the owner would have simply apologized and said she would refund me and do whatever it takes to fix my hair I wouldn't be here with a bad review. But They did end up refunding me but of course gonna charge me to fix their mistake next time. So disappointed in this company. read more
