This review is for the floor installation work done in spring of 2018. I usually do not write bad…read morereviews, especially it has been two years, but I saw the result of their lousy work every day that I have to say something. We had a new construction and our builder hired Phillips' Floors. They installed tiles in first floor, berber carpet in basement and wall carpet in gym. 1. Tile floor. Right after we moved in. We find there were cracks on tile grout everywhere. Builder blamed me that I kept the windows open in the hot and humid weather. However, we moved in 20 days after closing and the house had been kept in an ideal temperature set by the builder with all windows closed for 20 days. I believe the cracks were there before we moved in, while I had no proof and I blame the bad luck. 2. Carpet. Our house inspector found visible seams between the pieces of berber carpet but I did not take it seriously. Two months after we moved in, the seams started to fray and then threads started to come out. I contacted Phillips Floor. First they sent someone to check and agreed installation was not done right and it had to be fixed. Then they sent some floor technician, who just snipped the threads and called it a fix. After some back and forth, they finally had enough of me and they sent me a letter, basically saying that we'd done everything right and it's not our fault that you have lousy carpet, case closed! Recently more and more threads came out from the seam and we had to cover them with paper and tape - this is the reason that I decided to write a review. 3. Wall carpet. A year after we moved in, a piece of wall carpet in the gym fell. I contacted my sales person but for two weeks there is no reply. After several tries they finally sent their subcontractor, it turned out that they forgot to put down nails on that pieced of carpet and they apologized. However in our communication, the sales person complained that the subcontractor charged a lot of money and he took a big loss on my project, and also indicated the problem might be I kept the gym warm. I don't understand why the solution is so simple yet he had to make it so difficult, complain in front of me and make the me feel bad!

WARNING, WARNING, WARNING!…read more Needed new wood floor installed. From the beginning it went from bad to worse. Hired them as they claimed to have a sanding system that cleaned 99% of dust. Not! To start , the measurements were wrong so they didn't send enough flooring; which needs to acclimate for at least 72 hours in the house, as they informed me fron the start or it will not lay correctly and possibly crack. Which mine has done both. I had to reject 6 bundles of flooring as their, "prime wood", was notted, cracked, and warped. I was told ALL employees are in house, only to find the installer was contacted. Both my wife and I are elergic to dust. There 99% dust free system, actually was about 20%, the other 80% took me 12 hours to clean, as well as for another $300.00, to get the entire HVAC system cleaned out. When it came to seal the wood, I was told the crew was run by their" best man" when they were done I had sealant on the walls, as well as dirty hand prints on the walls. All said and done my $3600.00 floor actually cost me $4700. After I had all the extra work, cleaning, painting, and cabinet repairs; as they cracked my custom cabinets in not one, but 3 places. The owner did not want to resolve or help at all. Of the additional $1100.00 I asked they pay $850. Owners words through his flunky, were $350. Take it or leave it. As relayed by his manager. This was after his team came back in for proof, which I supplied with receipts and pictures. We did manage to get them to come up to $500. but only by threatening legal action. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

Where it falls apart is the install. They hire bottom of the barrel workers to actually install the products. There was not a single thing they didn't screw up on install. Because I don't want you to think I'm being dramatic I'll include pictures..... 1. Appliances- we ordered super nice LG cafe appliances from the store. We waited....and waited...and waited. Finally when the day they were suppose to arrive (ordered in February it was now late April) we called and found out they wouldn't be in until December. We had to have something as we moved in to a new house with no appliances. So, we bought a second set that they gave us a "good deal" on. When they arrived, they were clearly used appliances (food in the microwave and crumbs in the oven). However, none of this compares to the splinted mess they left in my beautiful custom cabinets when they drilled a hole for the microwave (pictured). Total disregard for someone else's craftsmanship. 2. Carpet- the carpet was ok on install. There was the normal drywall dings and paint scrapes. The transitions were sloppy but, not the end of the world. My biggest complaint is they didn't clean up after themselves. There was fuzz and carpet pieces everywhere. We spent hours vacuuming just so it didn't look like a shag rug exploded. 3. Tile- Tile 101- use the same batch for the entire floor. If this is not possible mix the batches to insure you don't have a chunk of tile that was noticeably different. They didn't do this and we ended up with a section by our doorway that is noticeably darker than the rest. In addition their gout job was sloppy and there were low spots and spots where thinset was poking through. Once again, no clean up was done. Gout was all over the walls and splattered on tiles. We did call them on this and were given a discount and a worked came back and cleaned up. However, I have to look at the mismatched tile everyday (picture). Bottom line...hire your own installer if you buy product from here.
