Jodi came out a few days later and measured the flooring. Only took about half an hour and he was very professional and easy to work with and showed me the blueprint/ diagram before he left. Mike got our quote to us quickly and it was broken down pretty well. The negative is when we got our quote. It was double the price of a few other quotes we received. It was very steep for what we were getting. We decided to pass on continuing with ordering because it was double of some other quotes.

The door was pretty straight forward and was done in about a day. Very pleased with the replacement and quality of work. (Jay did a great job) The beadboard was a big job. The peak of the room is over 20' up and presented a real challenge as there are some lowered beams in the way that make scaffolding difficult. It took about 3 days to get it done but the results are beautiful. The drywall was screwed up on the wall, but not even taped from about 10 years ago. (We bought an unfinished repo) I figured that it would have to be ripped out and replaced, but Jason thought he could save us a lot of money by taping and sanding, and it came out really good. You'd never know that it was old crumbling drywall the way it looks now. We were really impressed. The best part of the experience was after they were done Jason came back to do a punch list of the work and see if we were satisfied. There were a few relatively minor issues like you could see the nail holes in the beadboard and they had run out of window casing and left one window half finished. All the issues we had were addressed to my wife's satisfaction, (not always so easy to please her) and overall, it was a fantastic experience, and I would not hesitate to recommend this company. Jason is a good guy who you can tell really cares about his work and the customers satisfaction.

Schaal installed a new furnace, AC and water heater in the spring of 2021. We also enrolled in the…read moremaintenance program and still have that. Every year the AC fails to work until someone comes out to look at it. We try to book the free AC service from the maintenance program for late April/early May to have it ready for summer but they constantly call to push those appointments due to "high demand for service calls" and frequently don't get that free visit until we call because the AC is working, usually on the hottest day of the year to that point. This year is no different and we have not had AC since Friday July 17th. Called to set up an appointment and the earliest I was told was available is Monday (July 20) afternoon. I asked about priority scheduling with the maintenance program and they said they would put us on an emergency services waitlist. It is now Sunday afternoon and when I called to check they said nobody will be coming before tomorrow with our scheduled appointment. I cannot believe there are that many other priority customers that with all their technicians they cannot get someone out to my house within 3 days. I can only assume it is because the terms of the program also mean I don't have to pay overtime/weekend rates so they are prioritizing higher revenue customers. If I were a potential customer looking to replace an HVAC system I would not go with Schaal again. If I were a potential customer needing service I would not call Schaal either; look for a better locally owned company (Schall was bought out by private equity a few years ago). I'm giving 2 stars as the installation and service in 2021 and 2022 was as expected but fell off quickly after ownership changed in 2022.

I couldn't be happier with A1 Cabinets & Granite. We purchased granite for our kitchen remodel in…read morethe past month and they have been absolutely fantastic. We visited their store and Ashley was very helpful and friendly. She guided us through the process and showed us the available granite/materials. She was very knowledgeable and didn't try to up-sell us needlessly. She was genuinely interested in helping us find what WE wanted. Sammy came out and measured our counters. He was prompt, polite and asked the right questions to make sure everything was cut perfectly (overhangs, trim, etc). The installation was able to be done earlier than expected (a BIG plus when other contractors are scheduled). They arrived on time and installed it quickly. Then....We hit a small snag. The original installation crew mislaid one piece about an inch out of place. It wasn't really their fault because they assumed the edge was supposed to be flush with another cabinet. It wasn't. But...one call back to Ashley and another crew was out within 2 days and they were amazing. I mean this crew was polite, apologized for the initial error, assessed the situation, and corrected it with astounding precision and craftsmanship. My wife and I were really impressed. It's great to see a small business that really cares, like A1 does. It's even better when it's a locally owned business that outperforms the big box stores. I would unequivocally recommend A1 Cabinets & Granite!
