Scheduled a test drive, they confirmed it with me over the phone for a certain time. Upon arrival, there was already a customer looking at the vehicle and once I spoke to the salesman they told me the guy came 10 minutes prior to me from very far and they already had him scheduled. They made me waste an hour because of their lack of communication and respect for people's time and told me to "get lunch" while I wait. These people do not care about your time, they go against their words and don't say a word until you're there ready to buy. This is by far the most pleasurable car buying experience I've had. Platinum has the best, the biggest selection, decently priced used luxury cars along the CA coastlines; an easy drive from Burbank Airport or LAX. What makes the pleasurable experience is the team at Platinum were great, and they do work as a team. No comissiom based high pressure, easy going and Neil was an absolute patient, respectful and responsive sales guy. The whole experience was nothing you'd expect from car sales. But then the fleet at Platinum is far from usual. It is worth noting that I'm an out of state buyer and communicated with mostly Neil, but also Kevin & Pasha over the course of about 6 weeks. Including working with the team upon my visit for test drives. Neil answered a ton of questions I had about the car I was targeting, he was extremely helpful when it came to pull the plug and visit with a reservation agreement that was in the best intentions of both parties. Upon my visit, we found that the professionalism and care continued with the care of the cars, us and other customers while we were onsite. The car was barely used, 99% perfect but we found one cosmetic feature which didn't function, that eventually turned out to have been purposely disconnected by the previous owner, internally. So everything did appear to function on the surface but Platinum agreed to fix before completing the sale, very nervously (as I've never done this process before) I signed all the documents of sale and clung to the Dealer Promise paperwork. This feature issue was a tough one, and was unfortunately what took the time to close. However, Neil was very patient with us and honest, they're usual luxury mechanics had referred the car to the main dealer, which Platinum arranged and the majority of the time it took to repair was totally on an uncontrollable situation and the mistakes with the local main dealer. Platinum helped as much as they could during this waiting time and ultimately delivered a fantastic show car. I've read the comments here and heard Neil tell me that the worst thing that could happen was for something to go wrong as soon as I get the car, he promised to take care of the car and us and he delivered. When Neil says he cares, he cares. He even took care of our car during the bad coastal storms; making sure the car was kept safe. I had originally arranged a coworker to check out the work when it was fixed, but by the time the car was fixed. Neil and I had communicated so much through emails and on the phone, he proved his honesty to me and thoroughly sincere. I purchased a Range Rover Sport earlier this year from Platinum Autohaus. I paid full price and there was no negotiating. I also was encouraged to buy an extensive warrantee which I did. This was another $ 7,000. After the purchase was completed and I was heading home to Santa Barbara, I had to return to ask for a car manual. Later I realized I did not have a second key, which I absolutely needed ! They responded that they did not have one. The replacement key is over $900. and they would not take care of this. I find this unprofessional and very concerning when I spent over $63,000 plus the warrantee. Furthermore, I went to my local Land Rover Dealer and paid them for their time to walk through the basics and get familiar with the car.... There was also no follow up on their part. I have reserved 4 cars with Carvana before letting all of them go because of the delay in getting inspection images. (Glad I did). I settled on a used Alfa Romeo Giulia and started searching online. I wanted specific packages, low miles, and warranty still in effect. I contacted one dealer (NOT PLATINUM AUTOHAUS) who specialized in lease returns for Alfa's. Found what I wanted, but the car was dirty in the photos. They also used every sleazy tactic in their arsenal to screw people over such as adding a ton of useless add-ons to jack up the price. I watched Youtube videos on what to look out for, but decided not to deal with them. Thankfully, Platinum Autohaus had the vehicle with most of the features I wanted, and some I thought I would not get. They were very professional and laid back. I appreciated that being a woman shopping for a car on my own. I booked a day to come by and test drive the vehicle. It was pristine; not a scratch or nick on it. Tires were in excellent condition (all matching). I wanted it. The price was a no-haggle price, but extremely fair and below what I was going to pay with Carvana. I asked them if I could have the car inspected prior to purchase. They said, "We welcome that." They drove the vehicle to my mechanic of choice. After a few hours, the mechanic gave it a clean bill of health. I already was approved for a low interest rate loan through a credit union and made arrangements to purchase. I visited this dealership with my fiance to see a Maserati Gt MC, after speaking to a salesman named Neal who I made appointment with. Besides the fact that he had 0 motivation to sell me the car, to my extreme shock, he had insulted us by asking if we could afford the car. As I laughed, I mentioned to him that I currently have a Maserati Gt and I'm looking to purchase another one without a trade in. He proceeded to say that he sees people like us all the time who visit the dealership that can't afford an exotic car. He also inquired about our credit score, then my fiance pulled up his credit on his phone to show him, which reflected an 807 credit score which is tier one credit. Neil continued to repeatedly state "I don't think I can sell you the vehicle". I was very put off by the insults. I started to negotiate the price and he wasn't having it. I asked if he could talk to the owner about pricing but he refused, stating the owner wouldn't agree. He then proceeded to state that we wouldn't be qualified without putting a 20% down payment. He also kept making distasteful comments asking if we just wanted to buy a piece of metal. A few days later, I decided to call the dealership and speak to the owner Alex. He was very polite and said we only have to put 5% down with our credit and to fill out an online application and he happily lowered the price by $1,000. I completed the application and called to inquire. Neil answered & stated that he received the application, but that we needed to put 20% down and then said we needed to put $20k down! Is he insane? I can do the math in my head, 20% of $58K is $11,600, not $20k buddy. Where did you come up with this figure of almost 40%, by adding another $9,400? Very contradictory. If you can't calculate it in your head, by all means, use your calculator. And with an 807 credit score and the salary, it's obvious we can afford it and not have to put a large down payment. Im not sure what his motive is. I repeatedly asked him what the issue was and why we couldn't qualify, while inquiring which bank he submitted the info to. Only to find out that he never submitted it to any bank! He said he was basing off his own expertise and didn't think he should submit to any bank without $20k down. Ok Neil, you shouldn't run our credit if your making the rules. And what is your expertise exactly? First of all, my fiance and I are very educated people. I have an MBA and graduated with honors. I'm no dummy! My fiance works for an Oil and Gas company. I was in the car business for a long time and I'm now in a different profession. For a car salesman to repeatedly insult me and call me back while he's absolutely unprepared, in addition to not submitting anything to a bank and then telling me that my fiance has never paid off a car in his life, while in fact he's paid off 3 cars and bought another car last week, paying $5k down and a first payment of $12,100 a week later... total $17,100 in a matter of 7 days, I dont need Neil's 2 cents of bs. It's insulting to say the least. Not to mention that he can't perform any math skills. $20k is 20% of $100k, not of $58k! So telling me 20% down is $20k, is absolutely ridiculous. Then, after I asked if he saw our credit score, he said, yes it's phenomenol but this is an exotic car. Ok Neil, I've told you a thousand times, I currently own a Maserati Gt, which is financed, I'm well aware of it being an exotic. I get it, you don't want to sell us the car for whatever reason. I also told him that his boss had told us that we could even put 5% down and that it's not a house where we need to put 20%. He said his boss doesn't know what he's talking about. Not to mention, that I've already been preapproved from 2 banks with $0 down and a 1.9% interest rate from an actual Maserati dealership. But the only reason I wanted this car is for the red interior, which I have on mine. I'll do these people a favor and let the car sit in their lot and purchase from a place who doesn't repeatedly insult my fiance and I and who appreciates our business. I had taken a few pics while taking a little video which I'm trying to upload on here, where Neil is asking in the background if we can afford the car, and after me telling him I already own a Maserati granturismo, he said people frequent this dealership who simply can't afford the car. Alex was not there. However, as a courtesy when I called and asked for the owner, Alex said "I'm the owner". I told him what happened and he thanked me for letting him know. Initially I didn't think it was a huge deal until after Neil ran the credit after I submitted the application a few days later and he said putting $20k down was required, and we couldn't get approved without that. I was looking for a very specific car through Autotrader and stumbled upon Platinum Autohaus on my search. I contacted them initially through their website for inquiry into the car I was interested in.
