We truly cannot say enough amazing things about our day-of coordinator, Raquel from Platinum Affairs! As a major DIY Bride, it initially was not in our budget to have a day-of-coordinator. After speaking with others who recommended Platinum Affairs to me, I discovered a day-of-coordinator would be the most important vendor. In all honesty, I don't know what I would have done without Raquel. Even as a strong type A Bride who is extremely organized and prepared, Raquel asked the questions I didn't think of to FULLY prepare for the wedding. After the first meeting, it was like a huge weight was lifted off our shoulders. She brought an incredible sense of calm, professionalism, and organization to our wedding day, exactly what we needed. She also shared her industry knowledge for ideas, recommendations, and proper etiquette. She kept in contact with all our vendors before the wedding, days leading up to the wedding, and the day of the wedding. Raquel truly took the time to learn my husband and I, to fully understand what was important to US on our wedding day. Her preparation ensured all our vendors worked seamlessly together. Raquel managed to be everywhere at once, always a step ahead, always with a smile. She not only managed my vendors, but she also managed those guests that every bride and groom is worried about but obligated to invite (sorry not sorry). I honestly don't know how our day would have flowed without her. Thanks to Raquel, we were able to be fully present and truly enjoy every moment. Everyone warned us the day would fly by; it really really does! Don't put yourself through the nonsense; it's your day so be sure to enjoy every single moment of it. To do that, a day-of-coordinator is a must. If you're on the fence about hiring a day-of coordinator, just DO IT, and make sure it's Raquel. She was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding! Bonus: Raquel sent us some sneak peak photos after the wedding she was able to snap from behind the scenes. read more

Platinum Affairs came recommended to us by Jericho Terrace as a preferred vendor as we made preparations for our wedding. We worked with Raquel on our invitations, mirrored seating chart and mirrored welcome sign. Overall Platinum Affairs executed on all assigned tasks and everything came out nicely. However, during the process, we felt like we needed to follow up and stay on top of them. Raquel seemed overwhelmed and maybe a bit burnt out. The Meetings We met with Raquel a few times over the process to finalize details and make payments. She was not pushy and honored our requests. We wanted simple invites, and new the style of mirrors we wanted. Over the course of 6-8 months, each visit she forgot who we were and we had to reintroduce ourselves. It took away from the experience. The Service Our Invites were ordered about 8 months from our wedding date and arrived about 6 months from our wedding date. I was a bit annoyed because our original choice was out of print and we were told this one was in stock and affordable. After making our order and reviewing our proofs, Raquel and her team called to let us know we had to decide immediately on our proofs because the vendor was running low on the card stock and may not be able to print our order. Our mirror and seating chart were ordered at the same time. We had to provide the text, names and fonts about 10 days prior to the event. We actually followed up with them because no one contacted us. Once we were in touch, everything was finalized. One nit to pick, they do not alphabetize the seating charts and you do need to review your proofs. I noticed a few formatting errors when reviewing my own. Card box was just as we asked. No complaints there. Verdict Platinum Affairs was okay. Service was good, but not great. Prices were reasonable. read more

Raquel of Platinum Affairs was a blessing! From day one when we walked into her store in 2019 (pre-pandemic), she made us feel at home! She was patient and above all else HONEST when it came to designing our Save The Dates and Invitations. We had a vision and she carried it out effortlessly. Raquel was extremely flexible and understanding. The advice she casually offered with her years of expertise was greatly welcomed. Although I was not a Bridezilla but definitely a finicky Bride, she always set my mind at ease, and I always left her store confident that she had this! By the time the day of our wedding came, she provided the following services for us: * Save the Dates * Invitations * 7' Mirror Seating Chart * "Unplugged Ceremony" Mirror Sign * Personalized Pinned Ribbons for a Meet & Greet the day before the Wedding * Envelope Box * Table Numbers * Personalized Dinner Menus * Personalized Beverage Coasters * Personalized Hangover Hotel Bags With all the things she did for us and how she patiently walked us through EVERYTHING, she lended herself to almost being our mini wedding planner. I am grateful she went above and beyond for us right up to our wedding day! That was 99% of the good! Now for the 1% bad...there was one small incident that bothered me a bit. Unfortunately, one of the framed table numbers went missing at the end of the night when her team came to collect their things. Her assistant notified us that they would double check with the venue but if it didn't turn up, we would have to pay for it. Unfortunately, the frame didn't turn up and they ended up charging us a pretty penny to replace it. I guess I felt that considering what we had already spent, the cost of the frame was a drop in the bucket for them and was it worth leaving a bad taste in our mouth? But at the end of the day business is business, I guess. I don't think we'll let that hiccup prevent us from using her services again. As I stated before, Raquel was heaven sent for the (nearly) 3 years we did business with her. Thank you Raquel and team, at Platinum Affairs!!! Mr. & Mrs. Vega 09/17/2022 read more

My fiancé purchased our wedding invitations from here and besides the fact that they charged a disgusting amount of money for the invitations, the worker blatantly lied to us and told us that the envelopes (which we paid extra for) would only require a simple postage stamp to send out and after taking them to the post office I found out that they'd have to be sent out as parcels because of the envelope size and now I'm out 700 dollars to just send my invitations out to our guests. It's bad enough wedding planning is already a financial nightmare but to be taken advantage of by these businesses that are already profiting on us immensely and then deceiving us to make a sale is completely uncalled for. At least the invitations looked good I guess. read more

I couldn't be happier with my experience with Raquel at Platinum Affairs. She just made the decorations for my baby shower and it exceeded my expectations. She brought our vision to reality and beyond. During the planning process Raquel was personable, attentive, professional and creative. She offered great ideas and was open to my ideas as well. The favors, the centerpieces, the flower wall, the balloons arrangements, the ring, the whole set up was beautiful and it made my baby shower the sweet magical experience I wanted it to be. I would definitely recommend Raquel at Platinum Affairs to anyone! read more

The team here did such an amazing job with my daughter's sweet 16. I gave them our vision and it was executed seamlessly. Thank you so much to Raquel and her team. We will be back for future events. read more

What a waste of money. They request a deposit and full payment before the event because they know there work sucks. Worked with Raquel and requested soft white fairy lights. Instead they put up led lights during the event. Guest are asking who the hell are these people. Looked like a construction site at one point. Stay away read more

This review is as much for the company as it is for Raquel. I cannot say enough about our experience with them. Between our perfect invitations, Signs used for the venue, and the most beautiful mirror seating chart we could have asked for! To start- our invitations were so amazing. My husband and I had such a hard time making decisions for this but Raquel helped above and beyond what anyone could have. She even went to pick up our envelopes herself since they would not be ready when we needed to pick them up since we sent our list in late! On top of that she made sure the mirror was perfect and the signs she even created herself. I will forever be indebted to her for how calm she kept me, and she is so nice you feel like you leave with a friend! Every detail of our wedding can be planned by this company -I am so happy we trusted them to! read more

It was an awful experience getting my wedding invitations here. 1) Raquel tricked us into creating a 'custom' invitation. Once it was all worked out & she calculated the price, it was DOUBLE what we originally told her we could pay! 2) Every step of the process took weeks longer than promised. And every time i called to check status, Raquel didn't remember who I was, and she sounded so annoyed that I was even calling. 4) A name was misspelled on the first proof and instead of apologizing, Raquel blamed the invitation company for the mistake and said it had nothing to do with her. (This mistake added another month to the process...) 3) Raquel constantly tried to push their other products & services on us. Unfortunately we ended up using her overpriced calligrapher, who made a huge spelling mistake on the first envelope I saw, which infuriated me. I had to sit down in the store and go through 150 envelopes to look for other mistakes before I left. I tell all the brides I know to STAY AWAY from here. Wedding planning is stressful enough without dealing with these ladies. read more

First off, PLEASE DO NOT USE THEM FOR OCCASIONS! I got engaged in August 2016 and was in the process of planning for my upcoming wedding ( 6/18/17). At the beginning, it seemed like we were on board and Nicole (who was the one running the place) was pretty efficient and would respond to e-mails in a timely manner. Unfortunately during the process of printing my invitations, she was going through a lot of family emergencies and was not easy to contact in the office. I had to continuously follow up to see the status of the wedding invitations, I had to follow up regarding favors. I am a very proactive person so being on top of a company seemed too much. We had issues regarding invitations, they promised we would get 125 invitations and we were ripped off. Since we needed to send out more invitations and in a timely manner, we tried to contact this company but never obtained a response. We felt like we were harassing them since we constantly called, I also e-mailed Nicole directly. Due to lack of reliability, my parents went to the printing company they use directly to speak to someone to see if they would be of any assistance. The new manager Raquel, is by far the worst. She lacks professionalism and does not display great customer service . She didn't want to cooperate, now almost 2 weeks away she got back to us about the invitations and wanted to charge us an additional $100 something for them. My parents went to pick them up and were going to throw it out in the garbage in front of her since they are of no use now. On top of that, I had a balance for the favors which I knew of but she wanted it in CASH when I was at work. I would make a payment over the phone in the past and they would accept it. This company is very tricky and instead of making things easier for me, they really caused a burden and a lot of stress. I highly don't recommend. They are now located at: 1163 Old Country Rd, Plainview, NY 11803 read more

I had a wonderful experience working with Raquel for my son's first birthday party! She came up with such creative ways to decorate for his party and implemented them so beautifully! Raquel made stunning centerpieces, a memorable candy bar, and a very special backdrop. I appreciate her creative vision and dedication to pulling everything together and would definitely very highly recommend her! read more

I had the pleasure of working very closely with Raquel for over a year, utilizing her services for everything - save the dates, bridal shower invitations, wedding invitations, menus, ceremony programs, place cards, bridal party favors, etc. From day one, Raquel was incredibly professional, personable, and accessible. She exudes a level of patience unlike any other vendor with whom I've worked; if I needed a 2-hour appointment, she sat with me until all of my questions were answered so that I could leave the studio feeling confident that my vision would come to life. She guided me through each decision, falling back on her previous experience with other brides. If I needed to make a tweak or alteration to my orders, she was easy to catch via phone or e-mail. As any bride knows, planning a wedding can be exhausting and emotional, but Raquel had a solution for everything. She is also very relatable, being a bride herself! The end products were fantastic, and I'm so proud! My family and friends are STILL talking about my invitation, which Raquel knows we had to re-customize in record time because I wanted to change the weight of the invitation and adjust the font (from print to script). My favorite compliment is that my invitation really set the tone for what was an incredible and elegant black tie affair. Her recommendation and ability to create customized monogrammed stamps were the icing on the cake; no other DIY website could make the monogram look as perfect. I would recommend Raquel and Platinum Affairs again and again for future brides! Best experience, and looking forward to making my Thank You cards with her! read more

From one Mother of the Bride to another: PLEASE READ! DO NOT WALK INTO THIS PLACE! You would think planning your only daughter's wedding would be a dream come true; an adventure and exciting time. Platinum Affairs had made our dream come true experience, a nightmare. This establishment was recommended to me by someone I know so I thought it would be the best place for my daughter and me to get her invitations. Frankly - it wasn't. Since day one, Raquel had given us the run around about pricing, production status and ETA of when our invitations would be in. She would blame the production company on everything, never putting any blame on herself or her business. This showed lack of experience, carelessness and lack of responsibility. Not only did Raquel not do the job she was hired to do, there were zero acknowledgements when we verbally and electronically discussed our concerns and distress. Raquel never called back or emailed us when she said she would. Nothing was done in a timely manner. This doesn't go over well when you are planning a wedding! I hope someone takes this review into consideration when thinking about using Platinum Affairs for anything. read more

We met Raquel at the Nassau Coliseum Wedding Expo. She seemed nice and my fiancee liked her selection. We scheduled an appointment for 2:00pm this past Saturday. We arrived a few minutes early and Raquel was with another client. She didn't look up from her work or say hello to us. This went on for 15 minutes so went to get coffee and when we came back, there was no change. I was very angry since we booked this appointment months in advance and were on time. My fiancee said to look on the positive side that she is giving her customers a lot of attention. She could have looked up and addressed us by name and welcomed us to her store. At 2:45 she came over to show us some things. She seemed nice and knowledgeable but not very warm. She didn't seem excited to help us. Then after 10 minutes she said she doesnt like to hover and said she would come back to check on us. We never saw her again. She did have assistants in the store who were nice but just didn't have the knowledge base we needed. Maybe she only gives attention to some customers or maybe she is so swamped that she has no time for our wedding. I do not know why she didn't want our business. read more

I highly recommend Platinum Affairs for your party! They took care of me and my fiance for all of our wedding needs. From invitations to menus, seating cards, custom cocktail napkins, match boxes and a personalized cylinder for our gift envelopes. Raquel completely brought our vision to life by customizing every little detail. I felt as though I was working with a wedding planner without the hefty price of one. I am beyond happy with the way everything came out and cannot wait for everyone to see the final products on our wedding day (11.18.17). Not to mention, when everyone received our invitations people texted me to comment on how beautiful and classy they were. The possibilities at Platinum Affairs are endless and they will work with you to accommodate your budget. I will certainly be returning to Platinum Affairs for our thank you cards and any party needs in the future!!! read more

I would recommend using platinum affairs now that it is under new ownership with Raquel. When I first ordered my invitations for my recent wedding (7/21/17) Nicole was running the store. Nicole was dealing with some family issues and stopped responding to emails and phone calls. I was extremely frustrated and kept calling and calling. At the time there was another employee who called me back and told me my invitations were never ordered. At this point Raquel took over and ordered my invitations on rush and made sure I had them in time. She was very understanding of my frustration and did everything in her power to make sure I felt better about the situation. She has completely re organized the store and her pricing is fantastic. My invitations were beautiful and I ended up renting and buying and few more items from her. Her favors are beautiful as well as reasonably priced. I would recommend working with Raquel at platinum affairs. read more

I would never go back to this place again. First of all they are not even in Huntington anymore, they moved to Plainview which they failed to tell their customers. I ordered something from them back in March and it stated on the order form to pick up a couple of days before the event I had, after 5:00 p.m. They never said I had to call to make an appointment but I called the Saturday before and there was a voicemail saying they moved, never said where and said to leave a message they would call back in a day. I called during business hours too. The next day they never called me back so i left an email. Now it was Monday at 12 p.m., they still did not get back to me with an email or call. I had called thier sister store and they advised they moved to Plainview and he would call the manager at the store to get back to me. Finally they emailed me back saying i needed to make an appointment. I called them back at another number they had no answer. I messaged them back made the appointment and the manager confirmed the appointment, The day I was supposed to pick up the items someone else called me leaves me a message and says I need to make an appointment. I call her back, told her I already made an appointment. Now it is the day I pick up my items, the store is still a mess becasue they just moved in. I had lollipops, mind you the labeling on the ribbon was rubbed off and the wishing well i had from them was dirty, I said I wanted them to waive my balance that I owed. They wouldnt let me. I said I had to jump through hoops to get a hold of you and no one ever called me back until the day someone left me a message to tell me to make an appt which i already made. Plus how would I know that they didnt just close up shop and take my money, since they did not tell their customers in advance that they moved. Overall they have bad customer service!! They advised that they werent telling anymore where they moved. They lied and said they didnt know they were moving until two days before my pick-up. I said I saw it posted on Sept 3. on Facebook that they were moving. Why couldnt they just call their customers and tell them this ahead of time??? I wouldnt trust them, read more

We initially hired a overseas company to do our invitations but didn't expect them to take so long to arrive. Week after week of waiting but we still hadn't received them. People started asking about the invitations which was stressful. We needed invitations done ASAP for our wedding. Jericho Terrace in Mineola recommended Platinum Affairs! I called and spoke to Rachel. I asked if we can have rush invitations she said Yes and she'll work hard to get it done. Rachel did exactly was she said, she went out of her way to provide professional invitations in very little time. Wedding Planning can be very stressful but Platinum Affairs made the burden much lighter for us. It would have been so embarrassing not be able to give out wedding invitations on time. Rachel has a great heart and is committed to professionism. We also purchased more items while we were getting our invitations done. Thanks Rachel and God bless Platinum Affairs! read more
