I found this office when I was looking for an experienced plastic surgeon. I called so many places and made several consultations before I found PSS. When I called, the lady on the phone was SO nice and welcoming that after talking with her for a while, I set up my consultation and cancelled my other consults. I didnt really get a great feeling when talking to any other offices the way I felt when I talked to this office. Everything from the consult to my last post op appointment (which I had today) was better than I could have imagined. Dr Douglas did an absolutely amazing job, Better than I ever dreamed of. My surgery was sept 3 and now that I'm four months post op and well into my healing, I would change nothing about my experience. After a year of searching for the right doctor for my tummy tuck in CA and couple of other states and after two consults I decided to go with Dr. Hvisendahl. Initially I was only searching for 'drainless' but personal surgeon friend advised me that Dr. Hvisendahl's approach was right, and that drains are used when and where needed and nothing wrong with that. Dr. Hvisendahl has a friendly approach, probably to relax all of us anxious patients who are nervous about the procedure. He assured me everything will be smooth and easy, but at no point have I felt pushed to do the surgery or anything like that, which isn't the case with other surgeons I spoke with. Dr. Hvisendahl has performed this surgery for decades, so for him and his staff this is a routine procedure. However this procedure is very invasive, with many possible complications. So this is something to have in mind when making your decision. However once you have made the decision to do TT, this is the place to go. Mine got a bit complicated (just like about everything related to my health since I was born - so I take it to be ma karma :)), so my recovery got prolonged. 4 months later however I am happy with the results and what the final result is going to look loike, and I am very happy that I chose this practice. So if you are at the point where you decided to do it, the place to do it can't be better. I also met Dr. Douglas at one of the consults, and he was also very nice, kind and patient. PA Julie was wonderful, and so was the office staff Lyvia and Heather, all lovely, kind and caring. What makes this practice stand out is also that they give free consults, and they also do couple of consults before the surgery, which is very nice. Highly recommend these guys! read more

This review is for the medispa. After visiting a few dermatologists for mole removal, I ultimately decided to come to PSS. The two moles were located on my face and given their shape, I was not concerned with them being cancerous. All the derms were recommending incisions which would leave a scar of who knows how big. PSS used a laser which was non-invasive and didn't require stitching!! The machine itself was rather noisy, and made a zapping sound...I had to coach myself not to be startled. The appointment took about 30 minutes tops! When all was said and done, there were open wounds that I kept moist (sorry of word choice) with Aquaphor for a couple of weeks. It has been four months since removal and both spots barely have a scar which can be easily covered with makeup. In a few more months, I doubt you will be able to see anything. I couldn't be happier with the results. Thank you Heather for your wonderful work!!! Also, there was no consultation fee and removal for the two moles was about $500. I don't know if they take insurance as I didn't even want to go that route. read more

Horrible experience here at PSS with Dr Poulos. Just to summarize, stay away from this doctor. I too have suffered depression like the rest of his patients from gross disfigurement after a breast aug and lipo. He also convinced me I needed a minor tummy tuck with the lipo, I didn't. Maybe he was padding his wallet or he wanted to practice on me. Afterwards, I looked like I was in an accident with all of my scars and he kept telling me it would heal and "look better in a year or two"! I previously had a breast aug with a doctor in Orange County. That doctor never had to use that line about a year or two because he knew what he was doing, unlike this guy! With the breast aug he went a size bigger, when the whole reason I went in the first place was to go smaller with the implants. He also made the incision in the crease under my breasts when I previously had them placed discreetly in the line around the areola. I figured he was smart enough to know that I would want the same typenof incision. Make sure to discuss that prior and make sure to get it in writing!!! He decided that in the OR without my permission!!! After I healed from the Poulos butchering, the scars were very noticeable both on my abdomen and under my breasts. With some crooked lines under each breast that were not hidden away in the crease like he said they would after healing but a few inches under each breast totally obvious and seen in a bathing suit top. Worst on one side and that implant was fairly larger as well so uneven sizes of breasts. I was really shocked at how it all went and he had nothing to say about any of it. He tried to offer me some sort of ultrasound treatment for more $$ to smooth lumps and bumps and other ripples out! Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. Anywhere else but this place. These guys in Marin would be the laughing stock of any plastic surgeons in LA or OC! Originally I went here trying to save money by not having to travel and stay in So Cal to see my original doc. Eventually I had to have these huge mistakes fixed and then my original doctor in OC just shook his head and said "this guy disfigured you"! read more

7 months into my breast augmentation, one has already ruptured, and the other is encapsulated. That on top of massive hideous scarring, I wish to god I had done more research first. Now I have to get my breasts fixed by another doctor to fix this mess, and pay more on top of the $15,000 I paid to Poulos. My loss. When I first heard about the complimentary Postoperative Lymphatic Wellness Treatments at PSS to follow my surgery, I didn't know what it was or why I needed them. But after the first two times, I had already experienced decreasing pain and swelling. So, I decided to sign up for four more treatments, as recommended. After learning more about how this particular treatment helps recovery after surgery and experiencing the results, I was sold. After each treatment, I experienced a visible decrease in swelling. The pain level also went down dramatically in the days that followed. My body felt rejuvenated, sort of tingling all over and alive. I'm not normally the first person to walk in the doors of a plastic surgery business and request a service. I worry about the smallest things. This place and the people that work there definitely changed my mind. First off, the second you walk in, the lobby is clean and friendly and the staff greets you right away with a smile. I went in for a consult for cool sculpting with Julia, a cool sculpting specialist. I dont have enough good things to say about her. She's friendly, smart, professional and knew exactly what she was doing. She helped me choose my trouble areas and worked with my budget. When i came in about a week later for my appointment, she could tell i was nervous (no reason to be but again im a worry wart!) So she brought in one of the doctors who was nice enough to take time out of his day to assure me everything was going to be fine and went through detail by detail. I went here to get a consultation about Coolsculpting to get rid of some stubborn belly fat and 'love handles' that I was not able to get rid of with diet and exercise.
