Dr. Keith Denkler helped me with my ongoing Dupuytrens. I had three fingers that were bent at 60°. The chords were not easily found. I mostly had nodules. Dr. Denkler is the only doctor I've been to that performs the needle Aponeurotomy and it works. His expertise is amazing and my three fingers are now straight. Keith Denkler borders on being a miracle worker. Ten years ago I badly cut my right arm while replacing a plate-glass window, and needed 44 stitches, including a repair of a severed artery. I developed some blood clots and substantial pain in my arm. Without me feeling a thing, he opened it up and repaired it all. This past few weeks, I had a swollen lymph node beneath my ear drained in a local hospital - a simple procedure - and apparently the doctor punctured a vein and it swelled to three times the size it was when I came in. For two weeks I was in agony as it continued to swell while the hospital staff said "nothing we can do. It will heal eventually." This after CT scans, MRI's, everything. The swelling pressed on my ear canal, my jaw, and I looked like Quasimodo. I went to Keith Denkler in excruciating pain. In 30 minutes he drained 13 cc's of dark blood and relieved the pain - I hardly felt anything as he did it. The next day he drained another 13 cc's - and over the weekend, the massive swelling in my jaw continued to shring to 1/4 of the original side. He did it all with little or no discomfort. I've been able to work, sleep and avoid pain meds - none of which was true for over two agonizing weeks. This is a doctor who cares who knows, and should be teaching the others how to do this work. I have been for YEARS, trying to get rid of old rolling/pitted acne scars from teenage years on my face and I have finally found my savior! First of all years ago I came to his office to get subscision to release the scars and he ended up also doing some "sanding" I think he called it to soften the appearance. This dramatically improved their appearance I was elated! He suggested getting filler to really help improve their appearance however at the time I was too scared of filler.... Fast forward to this year, I moved back to the Bay Area I noticed they were still faintly some uneven texture and decided to book with Dr. Denkler again. I am so happy and grateful I did. We decided to do less then half a syringe of filler to even out my texture and it turned out better then I could even imagine! Botox saved my feet from plantar fascitis. I happened to be in Dr. Denklers office for a hand issue when I complained about issues with my feet and plantar fascitis. He said, "I have had a number of patients who get relief from botox in the feet", so I scheduled an appointment. BEST thing I have ever done. Years of trying the boot, the icing, the stretching, the LESS hiking (bummer), the foot massages, the therapies seemed unending. Done, botox worked perfectly. After a fall, I had a baby-head sized hematoma on my hip that remained "static" for close to 3 weeks. Unsettled, and in an enormous amount of associated nerve pain, I visited the ER. Their advice, "wait and see" - maybe up to 2 months - and a consolation prize of some painkillers. The pain (and size) continued to keep me from work and I felt I had no options. This is just an incredibly special office. Dr. Denkler put a happy end to a problem I'd had for the last three years. A mole was removed by an inept doctor, leaving a deep gouge in my face. The original doctor had said, "Too bad, that's the way it goes sometimes" and was completely dismissive. Wow. So I moved on to doctor #2 who simply filled the pit with restylane. And while it was an improvement, it still wasn't right and I knew it. And because that filler vanishes with time, every few months I'd need to blow $400 to 'refill' it. But Dr. Denkler simply snipped out the mess, stitched it up and gave me the lovely solution I needed from the start. I can't tell you how relieved I am to finally have this wound handled properly by the RIGHT doc. Last night the bandage finally came off to reveal the faintest, most barely visible scar. Nice facility, very friendly and helpful staff and Dr. Denkler was everything I could have hoped for. Seven years ago my eyelids were drooping so low that my peripheral vision was impaired; incidentally, it probably also added at least 5 years of age to an otherwise "youthful" appearance. Dr. Denkler repaired the problem with minimum recovery time, saw me the next day, and then called on the phone during the week to see how I was doing. My dupuytren's contracture left my two smallest fingers bent into my palm. Dr. Denkler performed needle aponeurotomy in 30 minutes. Except for a minimal sting when he injected antiseptic into my palm, there was no pain. Two memories that come to mind: I had not had the ability to feel since my Dupuytren's had progressed. My stiff old hands are now flexible and pliable, resulting in so much more feeling in my palms. My other thought is that four days later I was hitting golf balls better than ever, probably due to my new lighter grip. A friend, who also suffers from dupuytren's, had the barbaric hand surgery performed. She had to wear a splint every night for 6 months and had to do physical therapy. Two years later her Dupuytren's has reoccurred. It's been a few years since I had the extremely helpful needle aponeurotomy performed. My two small fingers are beginning to slightly curl in again, perhaps at 25% of what they were before. I plan to make another appointment with Dr. Denkler, but he deserved a review for the absolutely life-saving treatment he performed. So...I moved to Marin several years ago, but kept returning to my Mt. View doc for Botox, (etc). Long ride. I tried Dr. Denkler based on these reviews. WOW!!!!! Dr. Denkler, (along with his sidekick, wife Dr. Rosalind Hudson) is an incompetent, dangerous quack who ruined my life, irrevocably, butchering me to deformity and dysfunction. through his sloppy, poor performance. His sidekick, "Dr." Hudson offered me drugs (Xanax) to calm me down from the excruciating pain and permanent damage / deformity & lack of functionality THAT Denkler CAUSED to my body and hand. He was ashamed that his 'plastic surgery' damaged by body so badly, and it got worse and worse; he could not fix the damage that HE did to me. Indeed, I had to go to other doctors, to try and FIX the damage that Denkler did to me, through his careless, sloppy, butchery. SAVE YOURSELF! Don't allow yourself to go "under the knife' of Dr. Denkler (and then, if injured by him, offered dugs by his sidekick wife to relax and silence you). Don't listen to the other 'positive' reviews that Denkler has manufactured or paid 'happy' clients to write. I contacted Dr. Keith Denkler in Larkspur, California (near San Francisco) last year because he was the only doctor I could find who was using that French procedure that had been touted as more successful than surgery. But he advised me to wait until Xiaflex came out on the market this year. I returned to him about three months ago to get the Xiaflex injection, which would dissolve the scar tissue without the need for more surgery. Apparently it's a derivative of gangrene that has been conditioned to dissolve only scar tissue. What a concept! Although I haven't yet completed the process I can already see that this drug is miraculous. The bend in the middle finger of my right hand was 50 degrees before the procedure. It's now at only 20 degrees. And Dr. Denkler assures me that that will show a marked improvement as well. The numbing of the hand with Novocain was the most disquieting aspect of the procedure. The injections of Xiaflex were then painless. They did cause bruising and a sensation of aching that went up my arm for the first day. My hand felt quite sore for a week. And so I asked Dr. Denkler if we could postpone the "hand cracking procedure" that would be the next step. Over the course of the next few weeks I could feel a tearing sensation from time to time in the palm of my hand that was a bit painful. But I'm the kind of guy who would rather go into a cold swimming pool step by step than plunge in. So I preferred these little tearing sensations rather than breaking up the scar tissue all at one. I think it was about a month or five weeks after the injection when he numbed my hand again and then manipulated my hand to "break" the scar tissue away from the muscles and tendons. It felt like he was cracking my knuckles. It was completely painless. In the following couple of weeks there was more stiffness and bruising, but I had a great deal of mobility, and the feeling of my hand being in a glove has begun to disappear. I needed a second injection on the right hand, and that went even better than the first. And then we'll move on to my left hand... But I'm not worried anymore, because I can already see that Xiaflex is a medical marvel. Apparently Xiaflex dissolves scar tissue without injuring muscle or nerve tissue, but it has to be used carefully because it can damage tendons. (I think that's what he told me.) I'm so grateful to live in an age where science can actually make a difference in my personal health issues. I've never really felt this optimistic before that modern medicine could help me. I would like to add that my insurance company, Anthem (formerly Blue Cross) was very willing to cover the cost of another surgery (about $20K) so long as I would cover my enormous deductible. But they refused to cover the cost of Xiaflex claiming it was a "professional service" that wasn't covered by my plan. This is a perfect example of why I hate HMO's. They're penny wise and dollar foolish, and then they raise my rates claiming the high cost of treatment today. I wish they would inject Xiaflex into the mind of my HMO to dissolve the scar tissue that's impeding their good judgment. I elected to work with Dr. Denkler this past December while home for the holidays after my mom had a lifestyle lift done by him a few weeks prior. I first met him when he came to our home for one of my mom's post-op check ups. After changing my mom's bandages etc he spoke to me about some issues I was having with my eye. I lost my eye as a child so I currently have a prosthetic and the area above that eye has always appeared very hollow/sunken in compared to the other. I did not even know it was possible to treat this problem but Dr. Denkler told me that he could fix the problem I was experiencing by injecting filler into the area. Very exciting news. I had a great experience at my actual appointment with Dr. Denkler and received awesome results. He was able to fix this problem I had dealt with my entire life in a matter of minutes. The results of my mom's procedure were/are also outstanding and extremely natural looking, I would recommend him to anyone. I went to see Dr. Denkler for an injection of Xiaflex for my Dupytrens.... and ended up with a tendon rupture. Three surgeries, over $200,000 thousand dollars in medical costs, and a year and a half of trouble later, I am left with only a partially functioning hand. I can't prove that Denkler was at fault, but during the procedure, his wife burst into the room proclaiming she did not have to have surgery on her elbow, and during the procedure, Dr. Denkler carried on a completely inappropriate conversation with my partner, who was in the room. My suspicion is that he was distracted at the very least. My suggestion: don't use Xiaflex.... and pay very close attention to what's going on during your procedure. Speak up if something happens you are not happy with. I didn't... and I am paying the price. read more

I'm 39, a mom to a 3 1/2 year old, and a native Marin-ite. I didn't spend a ton of time in the sun growing up but since having my daughter, have noticed some serious wrinkles (more like grooves) in between my brows and around my eyes. Some people refer to this as "mommy brow" - I just want it gone. I recently had the latest technology in facial treatment for my pregnancy-induced malasma...patches of dark pigmentation on both of my cheeks.
