This place advertises as a place for research.I thought great, why not help science and earn money doing it. Just to be sure, I contacted them by phone they assured me that they were using the plasma strictly for research. After driving all of the way North to their office in Everett, I was presented with a long list of exclusions of people who cannot donate--exactly the same list one encounters when donating blood. While I am completely healthy in every way, I could not donate and wasted a trip for nothing. Other than the false advertising and lying, I'm sure it's a great place. read more

It's an ok place, went in and they checked my veins before I did paperwork with that said if you have small veins they won't let you donate because of the size of needle so be prepared for that read more

My bf donate his plasma here every once a week and he got $100 each time he came (it only took him an hour and a half). I really wanna try since they willing to give you $200 for your first time but i'm afraid of needle. So, i dont think so. For those of you that need money you might consider this place. you can make money from your plasma. =) read more

After qualifying as allergic to nuts via an initial blood test, today I made a second trip to PlasmaLab from Seattle (40 minutes each way) only to find I was disqualified. AFTER having had also a finger prick and urine test. Only then did a staff member decide, in the midst of verbally going over a long list of questions that could easily have been completed over the phone or by mail, that I was disqualified. No apologies, no offer of reimbursement for my travel, and when i expressed disappointment that I wasted my time, she said, ridiculously "at least you have your test results". Um, yeah, I already knew I was allergic to nuts; that's why I came here in the first place! The specific reason I was disqualified after all that is also ridiculous. It is personal so I won't be sharing it here, but it in no way presented any sort of risk to myself or anyone else. The staff member cited FDA regulations but frankly I'm not even sure she was interpreting the wording of the question correctly--the first woman who went over the paperwork with me seemed to find my answer no problem. These folks seriously need to rethink their procedure and qualify people to the extent possible in ways other than making them come to the office. Or else they need to pay people a travel fee. read more

The staff is awesome. They are courteous, efficient, respectful, informative, and friendly. Say hello to Jeanine, she's the best and is doing a great job of training Melissa. Sometimes I will just stop by to say hi, they are my extended plasma family. The facilities are clean and professional. Also, they have an endless supply .of chips, juice, and candy. They will even hand feed you while you are donating. I highly recommend this place to anyone interested in research, money, blood, or money. read more

I've been going to PLI for 10 years. The staff is super friendly and courteous. Their building is newly remodeled and immaculate. i would rather be healthy and not need the money but I look at it like a small consolation prize from the universe. Laura has been there the longest and is awesome! i have been going so long I remember when they had manual donating. The auto machines are fairly new, but very convenient. The research that is done by qualified donations helps a lot of people. Please don't be disappointed if they can't accept you. You still get very valuable information that most doctors would not test for, or that are so expensive they are unaffordable. Even if you do not qualify, and lack of rarity or other conditions or diseases may cause this, you end up with some costly labs for free that may benefit you later on. In my case, my condition was so rare that not a single doctor, including many specialists, did anything but mis-diagnose and mistreat me my whole life, while I suffered, and I am now 42. The information in my labs from PlasmaLab led to the correct treatment for my condition. It saved my life. I not only had an extremely high count of an immune globulin that they were interested in, but, even though they cannot give medical advice, we were able to do our own research based upon distinctly unique lab values which were provided to me at no charge. Very nice staff. The ladies are family. They know my blood history. The rooms are always clean.

The staff was courteous, and the blood draw was done quickly and cleanly. They provided information up front about who can qualify, both on their webpage and when you're there. The location is fairly easy to, whether you go in through the surrounding neighborhoods or down Pacific Ave. They have diagonal street parking in front, as well as paved compact spots and a large gravel parking lot in back. The lobby is a little small, so I would not recommend bringing small children. read more
