Avoid Sheridan Nurseries at all cost! Fresh cut Christmas trees average $200 and they are…read moreridiculously skinny, have huge gaps between the branches, rarely have a "good side", stop absorbing water within days of being brought inside (even if freshly cut minutes before putting it in a stand full of water), last less than 10 days before they are totally dried up and dead, drop needles absolutely everywhere and there are very few trees left to choose from unless you are looking for a short Balsam. It is shocking to me that people are still being scammed into buying exorbitantly priced trees from them given how incredibly terrible they are. People might as well go to a supermarket and buy a tree for $50 since they would be getting an even better quality tree than they would get at Sheridan Nurseries. This sort of practice should be prohibited from continuing and the company should be called out for their false advertising (website and posts showing gorgeous trees, different types and heights and ample selection) when in fact they started letting customers pre-order trees starting in early November so when they receive shipments, the employees search through the trees for the nicest ones and those trees then go to fill all the pre-orders, leaving only the awful trees to choose from. They lie to customers to get them into the store and only then do the customers realize the trees that are left are nothing like the ones advertised. Sheridan Nurseries knows that many, many customers cannot shop around at different stores for a tree so they are essentially a captured audience who then feel compelled to buy a tree despite the atrocious quality and outrageous price tag. Sorry for my rant but I am so tired of businesses ripping off their customers, especially when discretionary spending for many people is now a huge struggle. Customers' expectations to get what they pay for are completely legitimate and they shouldn't even have to think about the possibility of receiving an inferior product or service when paying a premium or the top end of the market. I truly hope people will stop supporting them.

Just had a terrible experience here. I purchased two hydrangeas. One is thriving, the other…read more.. died. I took the dead one back. The staff person was rude, unhelpful, unsympathetic and completely humourless. Clearly implied that I had killed the second plant even though I had treated them precisely the same. Refused to give me replacement. "Not our policy." Will not be going back, ever.

The trees here are all healthy and much bigger than you will find at a big box garden centre. This trip I found a very full Hilly Yew which was much taller than any available at other centers. The prices here are also excellent. Staff are always pleasant and ready to help!

Another city, another eye appealing experience. There was no customer lineup here. It was somewhat overcast and hanging just above freezing mark with a breeze. Masks are mandatory before allowed entry. This Toronto store is small-sized compared to recent ginormous garden centres we've visited. Indoor product selection was good and pricing was on the high end. The outdoor display areas were virtually empty due to winter. Aisles are narrow and a shopping basket is the way to go both inside and outdoors. Staff were knowledgeable, offering assistance, and friendly. Checkout was quick. Parking is found on the other side of the road opposite of the front entrance to the building. Wait for it..... Yes, we came home with 2 plant additions to our home!

How could I NOT go into this store!? Looks-wise it's just like the standard HomeGoods we're used to in the States... except its bigger and better. And really roomy. Sometimes these types of stores are so packed you can barely move around - not this location. Set in a lower level/basement like space it felt modern and comfortable. Walking in - I instantly wished I had brought an extra duffle bag. Between the aisles of pillows, the kitchen/dining section, and the picture frames - I was in heaven. Fortunately for Hubs they also have tons of furniture, so he was able to find a {super cute} chair up front to relax in while I wandered. B/c my luggage could not accommodate all that I had seen I settled on a really beautiful picture frame to commemorate our visit to Toronto. Check out was super easy - seeing as how they had several cashiers available. And my frame, after $$ conversion was only $7. Yay for HomeSense!
