This quaint little shop has a bunch of cute terrarium things! You can book an appointment for a terrarium DIY session or just buy the terrariums they have completed. They also have sleeping flowers that have been flash frozen and will last up to 10 years. These are super low maintenance as you only have to water them once a month. The shopkeeper was friendly and answered all my questions. The only downside is they are sometimes closed even though the hours are listed as open. However, it wasn't a big deal for me since I live close enough and am at T&T often enough that I can head upstairs for a quick check. Cute, creative and super affordable! I remember seeing this place on my friend's IG story from the One of a Kind show in Toronto and I so badly wanted to check it out but alas, I work 24-7. One day, my girl and I were supposed to get a birthday present for a friend, and she suggested me this plant shop. When I checked it out on IG, I instantly thought "this is the place!!!!". Boy am I so so so glad Plant It is a permanent store because they have such a variety of adorable plants, pots, decorations and etc. I ended up putting together something for a friend and for my dad (whom I had just had an argument with the day prior). It took a lot to not buy everything in the store. The owner is so sweet, helpful and professional! She packaged my purchases so cleverly to be able to transport them home. Plant It hosts workshops to build your own terrarium, and they're beautiful! I had a very enjoyable experience and I'd highly recommend it as a fun activity where you get to bring home something to remember it. It's perfect for couples, friends, or to bring your kids to learn something about planting. Located on the second floor of the plaza with T&T on Kennedy, just take the escalator up and then make a right and you can't miss it. Call or email Plant It to book a workshop timeslot. There is a $10 deposit to reserve your spot, payable via e-Transfer. Choose what type of bowl you'd like and the size, the prices vary depending on that. Once you arrive, the shop keeper will present you with the ingredients needed to build your terrarium, including a variety of succulent plants, tools, gravel, soil, colourful sand, moss, mini stones, mini sea shells, etc. There is also an array of mini figurines (at an extra cost, reasonably priced). I suggest you not cheap out on the figurines as they do add a nice touch.... look at the ones in my pic which my wife and I made. If you've never done anything like this before, you need to try. The shop keeper advises you on which plants are are lower maintenance (perfect for dudes like me!) 2 days notice is required to book your spot, and the shop fits maybe 3-4 persons at a time, so try to book sooner than later. There is an outdoor plaza within walking distance from Plant It (to the north) which has lots of great eats. Having recently discovered that my thumbs actually might have some green under the layer of brown that resides on it's surface from many butchered attempts at gardening it was fate that brought me into Plant It recently at the height of my new found interest in plants. Located on the upper floor of the T&T mall in Markham, Plant It, is a small would-be kiosk, but due to some cool architectural designs, it's a full on 5 foot by 12-foot proper store. So cool! They specialise in succulent plants, which for those not in the know are water storage plants which get thicker once watered. Truth be told I had no idea until I looked it up. They have a huge variety of individual plants, terrariums and more. I opted for an Aloe Vera plant because in addition to being good for sun burns it's also edible! I had no idea. Besides the selection, and education the prices are so reasonable. My little Aloe plant was only $7 and it's already a pretty good size! If I manage to not kill my current batch of succulents and veggies that I've just planted, I'll be back to get some cool cactai and other cool plants for the house! Succulents: the cute gardener ego boosters. I've been on a binge for succulents and a friend recommended me this place after showing me some pictures. This little store is located on the top floor of the T and T plaza and it's on the right side near the waffles place. When I walked in, it was heaven. The owner is a young woman who was very helpful and passionate about what she does. There are all different kinds of succulents surrounding the room from various growth stages, sizes, species, pots, and colours. They also sell air plants. There are even cute mini figurines that adorn certain plants and they add so much character to terrariums. Her prices for plants and pots and etc. I find are EXTREMELY REASONABLE. Plants were ranging from $4 and up and I would buy everything in that store. She also sells pots from geometric to terra cotta to concrete to the cutest porcupine and elephant. When I was interested in the porcupine as the pot, she uprooted the succulent she had just planted and offered to clean it for me. Really amazing service and she was very kind. 5/5. I love wandering upstairs in the T&T plaza. I was trying to decide if I wanted to eat Toast Delight when this little shop opened randomly. The hanging glass décor caught my eye and they were soo cute. The girl who served me was able to speak Cantonese and English fluently so no language barrier there. I got a little hanging globe with a circle cut in the middle with a hanging post. You get to decide which succulent you want - each of them cost different amounts. She'll ask you to choose a soil, the rocks, and the little decorations (fake green & pink moss). In total I believe everything came to $35. I took .5 star off because I gave her $40 and she didn't give me any change back... I am completely non-confrontational so I might've gotten the change back if I said something. But then they should pay attention to detail. I took another .5 stars off for how small the space is. Do not come in with a puffy coat or a big jacket. Everything is fragile and you can't even turn in a circle without knocking something over. There were some customers waiting outside for me to finish when I shopping. They give you this little care package which is cute. It's very hard for the succulent to die and it's been such a cute decoration on my table at work. A wonderful little shop with very much a community feel to it. Kit runs a nice and unique spot which is rarely seen these days - her vision is clear and focused in the decor, product assortment and services provided by the boutique. "Boutique" truly is the appropriate word to use here, as the focus here isn't all about just turning product - she takes her time to educate and curate a broad array of interesting and cutesy little products that are not easily found elsewhere. Outside of succulents, there is a finely collected assortment of little planters, pots and decorative items for creating your own miniature diorama. My wife and I went to Plant It to participate in their succulent planting workshop. The experience was wonderful. Kit was hospitable, educational and created a very welcoming and fun environment for the experience. We both enjoyed it very much - Kit helped document the process via taking photos, and guided us both in the selection, care and the assembly process. Highly recommended--we will be back. Note: Plant It does not only have succulents, but also these cool "sleeping flowers" which are living, last 10 years, are low maintenance and come in some fantastic neon colors. Plant It (formerly known as Little Succulents Planet) is a small and unassuming business run out of the foyer of the owner's home. They sell a variety of cacti, succulents, and air plants in small plugs and bigger pots or custom arrangements (more than what is in my pictures). Their stock is in small quantities, but there is a very good variety that you would have difficulty finding elsewhere. They use different pots as well, from modern minimalistic white planters to terracotta pots to geometric glass terrariums. The only thing left is soil, and fortunately, Plant It also sells their own potting mix to get you started. Having only recently become interested in succulents, I spent many hours doing preliminary research on suppliers and nurseries. Right now, their website is under construction and the point of contact is their Facebook page where they post care instructions and examples of their succulent arrangements. I was impressed with the amount of interaction the owner had with its customers and commenters, so I thought I'd give Plant It a shot. Because you can contact the business via texting or Facebook messaging, it's very easy to get in contact and ask about whatever specific plants you want before making the trip. To be honest, I picked Plant It because it was the closest to me. Having visited several other private, big-box, and corporate nurseries since, I'm still impressed with my visit to Plant It and still find it to be very reasonably priced. You will have difficulty finding cuttings and plugs from other places for $1-$2. Their larger plants are not far off, starting at around $8. I bought a bunch of plugs during my visit and the owner was kind enough to gift me another one for free before letting me know that if I had any questions about succulent care to feel free to contact her. For me as a beginner, this was a great place to start because it had everything I needed to jump start my succulent collection and the owner was very knowledgeable. First thing's first, what are succulents? Good question. Thanks to a quick google search, I've derived that they're almost-miniature plants that make excellent decorative pieces for the home, office or any special event that needs some greenery. I was buying a holiday gift for a friend and wanted to explore some other options besides the usual finds at your local gardening store, so I checked out Plant It and met Kit, the owner of the store. One glance around her shop and a ton of questions later, I was so thankful that she was able to help me personalize an arrangement for my friend once I gave her the budget I was willing to work with. The level of customization is endless! You can choose your preferred glass container, the type of plants you want in the arrangement (my favourite were these colourful small flowers that would unfold with a few droplets of water), and even little figurines and handwritten signs to complete the package. Believe it or not, I didn't think buying a plant would ever turn into a fun experience, but I was clearly proven wrong... She also hosts occasional workshops so you can learn how to make your own arrangement from scratch! Definitely a cool thing to do with your significant other or friends. My biggest recommendation is to just explore the store with an open mind and ask Kit if you have any questions. Arrived to plant it at 12:30pm on Friday, as google says that's when the shop opens but nobody was inside so I waited. It's now 1:30pm and after an hour of waiting the shop still isn't opened. I called the phone number that was left on the door two times but it sent me to voicemail. I'm really disappointed because I wanted to buy a few succulents and air plants and I traveled a long way to get there. Super unprofessional... if you're going to run a business, you should at least stick to the regular business hours or at least let your customers know if you plan on opening a different time that day. My friends and I attended a succulent workshop hosted by Plant It. It was a good environment with ample space. Kit was a great facilitator. She guided us through the whole process of creating a succulent bowl to take home. She was very helpful in teaching us all about succulents and how to design our own for a bunch of amateur plant owners! All the tools and supplies were prepared and well thought out.
