Such a chill vibe here and the food is just as good. Their chicken bacon ranch pizza ($21) was probably in my top 10 pizzas eaten in my life - vegan or not. The herb ranch sauce would taste good on a flip-flop and the tofu was so tender & tasty. I love the shiitake bacon also. The PC Reuben was very good, but the Reuben sandwich at Garden Grille is a better. The seitan texture in Plant City's sandwich was really moist, but the "meat"could've used more flavor. I also couldn't taste the sauce, it needed much more. It needed cheese too, which Garden Grille has. $16 is about $3 too much for the sandwich. The espresso martini was okay ($14). There are way better ones in the state and Plant City's tasted watered down. Friendly staff, but service can be slow. It wasn't that busy, but I had to wait 10-15 minutes for my pizza after I finished eating my Reuben sandwich. read more

We stopped to eat as we headed back to New York City. I was hoping for a sit down experience but that section of the establishment was not open when we arrived (about 45 minutes early) so we ordered from the deli counter in the market department. I opted for their wrap. It was well stuffed with a chickpea "tuna" salad. I found it substantial and filling; the taste and texture were excellent, and I was sated and ready for my drive to the city. I usually have a good experience here; I get a croissant and a latte and am on my way. This morning I stopped at the grab and go and picked up a sundried pasta fusilli salad which I'd had before and really liked. I should have taken a closer look because when I got it home it was just pasta with some basil leaves and a few sliced cherry tomatoes. It didn't have the olives, pine nuts, spinach or arugula listed on the label. But it did have the macadamia ricotta cheese and I was hungry so I ate it anyway. This was my second time at Plant City in Providence. The first time I brought a friend who was eager to try vegan food to see what it was all about. The second time was with my wife who only eats plant-based foods. Both times I went we ate at Besina, the Mexican cuisine restaurant within Plant City. You need to understand if you pick a particular restaurant within Plant City you can order your coffee or cocktails from the beverage menus but the food is only ordered for the restaurant you are seated in. Guest at your table can't try out a wood fired pizza or a burger because that would be from a different menu in a different section of the Plant City building. So choose wisely! They take reservations and in fact I would recommend you get them as the dining areas fill up fast during the summer and on the weekends. The river walk across the street provides some entertainment, sights, and activities to finish off the night after your dining experience. Bring a cooler, there is a small grocery section with refrigerated and frozen foods available across from the cafe on the first floor. Many hard to find plant-based options are just at your fingertips if you want to try something out although you mat pay a bit more because of the convenience of the one stop shopping. The first time I went the server was very friendly and got to know us during the evening and made our dining experience really pleasurable and helped us navigate the menu offering his own insight on the dishes. We really enjoyed our meals and my omnivore friend was really pleased to try vegan food elevated to fine dining. We will definitely be going back. read more

The food here is finger licking good! I'm not a vegetarian or vegan person, but the food here makes you forget the need for meat or cheese. They make special cheeses with nut butters (so people with nut allergies be cautious) that are incredibly soft and velvety. Everything here is sooooo flavorful! The pesto sauce, the lasagne, the truffle mushroom pizza, (all the pizzas actually, including the buffalo style pizza that doesn't use plant based protein, rather its flavored tofu, which is so much better!), the eggplant parmigiana that seemed like it had ricotta cheese in it (but it's a vegan place so it was probably a nut that they used). The new 345 by Plant City! I was really excited to see this Speakeasy. It is just a few steps away from Plant City. There is a small sign on the door that says "345". You enter into what looks like a kitchen/prepping area. The Host takes you through a door, down the stairs to the Speakeasy. This Speakeasy has dim lighting with a little bit of upbeat music. It has a good feeling to it! There is a long bar with a handful of tables. It is reservation only due to the amount of seats. I can see this place getting really busy on the weekends! I sat at the bar, which appears to have a little more lighting than the tables. My friend and I started with the Watermelon Sugar High and the Passion to my Peach. The Passion to my Peach comes with a side of the cordial to pour in as you want. The turmeric flavor is strong in this drink, instead of sweat from the peach. The Watermelon Sugar High has a cute topper of melon balls. The drink has tomato water, but it's mostly for color. It has a very mellow flavor that I cannot describe. After first round of drinks, we started with Old Guac and New Chips. The guac was really good! The chips were all different with tortilla, sweet potato and regular potato ships. Next we tried the Truffle Explosion, one of the most popular appetizers. These arancini are filled with truffle flavor. Absolutely my favorite right now! Next round of drinks was Mum's the Word and Three Forty-5. Mum's the Word is a very smooth drink with grapefruit and chrysanthemum. The absolute star of the show was the Three Forty-5. It was a perfectly balanced sweet drink of tart cherry and light rum. This is officially my go to drink! Overall, I cannot wait to come back and try more drinks and food! Plant City is a cool concept of having multiple themes under one roof with a market for plant-based goodies and a coffee shop as well. Upstairs are Mexican and Italian restaurants, and downstairs is the coffee shop (which turns to a sushi restaurant in the evenings) and a pub for burgers. beers, etc. Everything we have tried here has been really delicious, and my only regret is that we're not in Providence long enough on this visit to try everything. Everyone we have encountered has been super nice, and even when the service was a little slow, they were apologetic about it in a way I haven't found in many other places. Plant City's stubborn insistence on calling themselves a food hall, when they are clearly one restaurant subdivided into three sections, is peculiar at best, and harmful at worst. My wheelchair-bound son wanted a burrito, but he was unable to reach the Mexican restaurant, as it was on the second floor, and we were repeatedly and insistently told that we could only order New Burger downstairs. Finally, after speaking to a manager, they said they would be able to make the sacrifice and run the burrito downstairs (from the downstairs kitchen). Unfortunately, the burrito was a tortilla-wrapped pile of . This is just the tip of the iceberg. The menu is also confusing--perhaps because of the odd ingredients. For example, what exactly is a "crispy blue oyster mushroom avocado?" As listed under the dorados tacos. My husband's 20 dollar nachos were soggy and bland. I did not anticipate my guacamole being drowned in scallions. Consider me puzzled. After our meal, we went to the marketplace and bought some overpriced cheeses. The cashier was chastised by a manager for taking a sip of water in front of me, which I found counterproductive, as he was in the process of ringing me up. The place was clearly overstaffed; I find it unlikely that employees receive a full tipped wage. The employee who bussed my table carried a Pisa-esque tower of plates, stumbling by servers who remarked at the heavy load. I tried to give a cash tip to this busser; however, I was intercepted by a manager who informed me that while he was working hard, it was only a training shift--and thus he could not receive tips. When you arrive someone opens the door and walks you through what looks like an industrial kitchen that's closed for the night, and leads you to a second door revealing a staircase. When you get inside the the decor is plush and glamorous. Walk past the bar area and there's a little private seating area with couches behind a 3/4 height wall that has tons of ambiance. The drinks are delicious, I had the Watermelon Sugar (I recommend). There's a small food menu, we got the chips and guac, they give you plenty of guac and an assortment of tortilla, potato, and sweet potato chips. First things first--the only redeeming quality here was the Cacio e Pepe, which was one of the best pasta dishes I've ever had in my life, and I recommend with all of my heart and soul. It's the reason I'm rating this 4 stars instead of 3, or maybe 2. The service was terrible--the restaurant was near empty and it took 10 minutes of us waiting by the host stand for someone to come seat us, even though we had a reservation. We also got the Spicy Farro Pepperoni pizza, which nobody liked and I seriously, seriously don't recommend. I love plant city! I've been here a few times (with vegan and non-vegan friends), and everyone has been impressed by how delicious the food is. My fiance loves fried food, and it's been awesome to have vegan options that still satisfy his cravings. The service can be a bit slow and it would be nice to have more non-fried options, but there's also a food hall upstairs that might have more options in that regard. It's also optimally located downtown, and a fun way of trying new vegan options that don't compromise on flavor. Definitely recommend checking it out! read more

It took me a while to convince hubby to try Plant City. Why? Vegan all the time - at all the restaurants located in the Plant City building. The first thing that hits you is the gorgeous outdoor space. COVID made them be innovative but they have kept it up over the past couple of years. We started with the Bar Verde nachos: butternut queso, black beans, pico de gallo, cashew crema, guacamole, jalapeño, watermelon radish & sprouts. Delicious! Then we split the classic burger and the buffalo "chicken" pizza. The burger from New Burger featured a vegan patty (beets, carrots, walnuts, mushrooms, kidney beans, brown + white rice, salt, paprika & GF flour), topped with heirloom tomato, lettuce, butternut squash cheddar, caramelized onions & beet ketchup. Hubby said he could hardly believe it was not meat! The buffalo "chicken" pizza from Double Zero featured crispy tofu bites, buffalo sauce, blue cheese cashew dressing with celery bits. I love that it's all vegan, and it's nice to have such an array of choices. I love that there's a little market. The prepared food I've gotten there has varied in its quality. I think the baked goods are good..and the bowl they have during the day is good. Mexican I had was just ok... and burgers and sandwiches are good but all very fried and fatty. I haven't tried the Italian.. wish I had. The fried food makes sense for their drive through locations, but was hoping their "American" menu at Providence location would have more variety. I guess American food is just fried food and burgers etc... not sure why I expected more.. Went for dinner tonight with my sister. Got there at 7:55. Ordered two sandwiches and an appetizer. The waiter was personable and very likable. Got the appetizer maybe 15 mins in. Around 8:50...we still didn't get sandwiches... so asked for them to go. Paid our bill at the table. Waited some more... asked someone else who works there how sandwiches were coming along.. as we were really ready to leave even if the sandwiches still weren't ready. Finally got sandwiches to go around 9:00. Taking home fried food is disappointing as it doesn't really keep its crunch. Also, over an hour wait for two sandwiches is just weird.... I've been traveling to Plant City since it's opened and it's progressively worse every time. This past trip to Providence I thought I would try their breakfast since I never had it before. I got the breakfast sandwich and although it was fine the staff was extremely rude and my order sat for over 45 minutes since the estimated wait time was off. They said anywhere from 50-60 minutes so I ordered when I was about 40 minutes out of town. They texted me 10 minutes later saying my order was ready. I tried to call and explain my mistake and the employee said "well it will be sitting here and you can get it if you won't or don't". When I got there there was no one to greet me or tell me where pick up orders are. The service here is about the same every time I visit unfortunately. I visited this place for the first time yesterday after leaving the RISD museum and it was everything and more! The walk up to the building and atmosphere gives it an LA feel. The place is huge with 3 options for dining: American, Mexican and Italian. The servers are all knowledgeable and attentive to your dietary needs.
