I have a coffee thumb and a bourbon thumb, maybe even a poetry thumb. But what I do not possess is a green thumb. Sure I spent a decent amount of time harvesting in my grandmother's garden, but when it comes to tiling and putting seeds in soil that is not me. So whilst visiting friends in Charleston they wanted to show us their favorite spot for plants. Being a good friend, I went along for the ride. Here's what I've learned about plants, since volunteering in a community garden since my CHS visit. Plants are good for us! Of course they're good in the sense of something to eat or a herb for flavor, but I'm talking about mental health here (not to mention physical health-purer Oxygen). They help the mind rest and focus and relax. And that is exactly what happened when I walked through the door of Plant Babe. I had no idea there were that many plants (again, not my strong suit here). And the aesthetics of the exude warm colors and allow for sunlight to spill wherever it pleases. They should set up chairs and charge by the hour for "chill therapy". And the team, superb. Friendly, knowledgeable, and patient. If you are anywhere near, even if you "think" you don't need a plant, stop by and I'll bet you leave with something in your hands. read more

Y'all, I'm so impressed with the amazing customer service! I ordered a Hoya Linearis basket online and selected in store pick up because I planned to visit in about a week and a half. Texas weather did its thing and I had to cancel my trip due to the freak polar vortex but my cousins managed to make their flights. I emailed plant babe and explained the situation asking if my cousins could pick up for me instead. My cousin told me everything was packed perfectly in a box because she knew it was flying back to Dallas. Above and beyond all my expectations! Definitely at the top of my list to visit when I finally make it to Charleston. This is what makes you remember a business and gush about it to everyone. read more

Before COVID one of my favorite treats to myself was stopping by this shop. The owners are always super friendly and helpful and have a great carrot really cool plants. Now that the world is on its head they still manage to provide great customer service, and beautiful plants! They also give advice without judging if you've killed a few plants like I have. The pots and other decor they have is pretty unique as well which I love! If you're looking for an awesome new plant baby to add to your collection I highly recommend you check them out! read more

If you're looking for a fun plant shopping experience with a little extra this is your spot. You can get a plant, cute pot for the plant, and even a moisture meter to tell you when it's time to water. Jesse the owner is SO helpful and friendly: also judgment free zone in case you're still learning to keep your plants alive. Visited here after going to Haegur and the two stores could not be more different. Plant Babe is in an industrial area and we actually drove by it the first time. The space is light and bright and kinda hipstery. It feels more like someone who likes to decorate with plants rather than a plant person per se. Sage smudge sticks were available as were "plant babe" merch. read more

By far one of the WORST customer experiences l've ever experienced in my life. I ordered a total of 5 plants and received only 4 out of 5. The plant I didn't receive was the most expensive plant. I notified Jesse right away to confirm if the plant was going to arrive separately or if it was actually missed. I didn't get a response for 4 days, so I emailed again for an update since I was concerned if the plant was lost in transit. Instead of responding like a normal human being, she blocked my email. I thought perhaps my email was blocked accidentally, so I emailed again and the message was returned as blocked. I assumed her business was shutdown, yet I saw that she was actively posting on @shopplantbabe on instagram, so I direct messaged her. Instead of a response she also blocked my instagram. It's been more than a month now I still have not received a single response from her or an employee. So I had no choice to report this to my bank as she never returned my money or sent me the plant. The odd thing was prior to this purchase I made multiple purchases and was a loyal customer and didn't have any issues.But now I know if there any issues with my order, Jesse will provide ZERO service or accept accountability. I normally don't post any negative reviews as I believe every business has the opportunity to justify their actions or rectify a bad situation. But from what I experienced with SHOPPLANTBABE, I believe this was acceptable to share as I wouldn't want others to go through what I went through. So please save your money or spend it on a business that actually cares about their customers. read more

Plant Babe is by far my families go to for great plants, great vibes, and a smile. Jesse is the coolest and will direct you to the perfect plant for yourself or for a gift. Her knowledge and just all around great character makes you feel comfortable and my daughter loves the place. The app is awesome. Worst experience in buying plants online. I ordered an expensive plant online as a gift and never received an update on shipping until I had to ask the following week (Monday). Jesse responded saying she only ships Mondays and Tuesdays, therefore she would ship it out the following day. The following day (Tuesday) comes around, and they have not shipped it out. I ask again because I need the plant in less than a week for a gift. No response at all. They finally ship it out on a Thursday afternoon (acknowledging the plant will be at the post office over the weekend) and never responded to any of my emails and messages on their social media. Complete lack of communication and their customer service is the worst. Please order plants else where- they do not care nor provide great service. read more
