Friendly staff gave me tips on best eats in the area. Store was as expected with pillows, shirts, other knick knacks. Comparable prices with pottery barns but mainly Southern and coastal look. Shirts are Great for hot weather area or moderate temperature. People in the South are simply nicer or warmer with their gentille manners. They seem less stress and unhurried. Great vibe though I think Craig is more astute than his peers for sure yet inherently compassionate. Go Craig!!! read more

Journeyed all the way from California with a dog and a kiddo to check this out! 2,481 mile roadtrip. Well worth the journey! Beautifully done store. Way better IN PERSON than what I saw when I followed on Instagram. (Obviously Instagram lured me in.) Very impressed. Maria was very kind at the checkout. I purchased the crab pillow and kid Dino pillow and she recommended a liner for them. I also bought a Blue hat, Beach towel and a Cute tote bag. She threw in a complimentary Drink Coozie for me. Super cute, locally owned store. Definitely a destination stop for fans of the Southern Charm show however we were very impressed with the quality of the products. These seem to be worthy of the slightly elevated cost associated with our Kings street shops. Not a huge showroom but really well laid out. Easy to navigate and beautifully decorated. Such a cute shop! Clean, spacious and easy to navigate. The staff is helpful and the store is quiet, allowing plenty of space to shop on your own or with company. I got a sweatshirt and a hat and was really happy with them both! I would've considered purchasing a pillow or so, especially for gifts, however I felt they were on the pricier side. Not totally off the table, just for now! But really enjoyed my visit to Sewing Down South and would return and recommend to others. read more

Southern Charmers!! We all adore Craig and seeing his growth and journey on the show. This store is the best F U to Naomi. I had to get myself a "what's wrong with my sewing?" Shirt. Stopped in to this store bc I am a huge fan and have watched Southern Charm since the very first season. Immediately greeted by a friendly employee and I quickly browsed the wares inside. I saw some cute pillows and other sewing items but it wasn't as full of selection for pillow covers as I had hoped to find. Loved the cute photo wall "Sew What" for selfies. Great location and a gorgeous, clean and open store. read more

Service was okay. Nothing fancy, the "workers" just stood around and IF eye contact was made she would say "you good". "Yes, we are good can we get some help"? After asking if this was all the inventory she said "um, yes, this it it"! Wow! We came expecting to spend $500-$1200. Made a special trip! Left with nothing!! Looked at sweatshirts and they only had I short pile. The material was VERY thin! For the price I left it, so did 2 other customers while we were there. The store front is cute and inviting. The interior is well lite. The inventory was the beige pillow collection with linens and magnolias. Crab kitchen and pillows. And some white and light blue design pillows. We were so excited and left extremely disappointed. read more

Beautiful brick and mortar store on historic King Street. Extremely friendly staff. High quality, durable pillows and clothing, along with southern living items such as tumblers, aprons, linens etc..., price is moderately high but that is to be expected for the location and quality. The T-shirt and sweatshirt I bought are the kind that will only get better with age. They are pre-shrunk and super soft. The pillows are very well made and I can tell from the tight stitching & durable fabric that they are sure to last. The service here was amazing! Fresh friendly faces, eager to help out some out-of-towners with finding some of Charleston's finest goods. I bought a hat for my stepdaughter (she's a big fan of the show), some stickers, and a shirt. If I had more room in my luggage, we would have brought home more pillows. Ordered from Sewing Down South with $1.15 order protection. Weeks later, tracking still said "Shipping Label Created, USPS Awaiting Item." In other words, it was never shipped. They refunded my order except the shipping cost... but why should I pay shipping when nothing was ever shipped? Pretty frustrating experience. read more

You can't give Craig and his overly friendly and helpful staff less than five stars. Even though I didn't get anything it was great to go into the shop and support the best SC star. Walked by a second time and even spotted the man himself. You can tell that he still spends time in the store despite his new adventures and that everyone really cares. read more

For fans of Southern Charm this a good stop to add on your list! No Craig or Paige sightings unfortunately but the staff working were super friendly and patient with all of my questions. The store itself is fun, bright colored, and sells way more than just pillows. They sell various tee shirts and home goods, as well as Charleston, SC souvenirs. Prices are definitely reasonable and I was able to pick up a very cute onesie for our son and a koozie for one of my fellow Bravo super fans. It's a really nice store and I definitely recommend checking it out if you're in the area. read more

Obviously had to stop here on our Bachelorette trip to Charleston all the way from Maryland and it really did not disappoint!!! I've been watching Southern Charm for many years and have always rooted for Craig! My partner and I were passing through on a road trip and I just needed to check out the store. Very much worth the stop! The store was clean, organized and the staff were friendly. Even if you're not a SC fan, I still would recommend this shop for great quality home goods products. No Craig sightings while I was here, but I did enjoy the vibe, style of the pillows, and the helpful staff. The product here is on the pricey side, so I don't think you would outfit your entire home with Sewing Down South items, but there are great finds to accent any room. We went with a crab pillow and a beer coozy, which I still use! At the right lake party, this SDS coozy it's a great conversation starter. I'm looking at you Bravo super fans! Street parking only and they do ticket if you hang around too long! read more

LOVE Southern Charm so of course I had to check this place out while in Charleston. The 2 employees that were working were very friendly and easy to talk to. They asked where we were visiting from and seemed genuinely interested in their customers. The shop itself is so cute. There were a lot of apparel options (more than I was expecting!). I ended up getting one t-shirt and one sweatshirt. They wrapped the shirts in cute tissue paper and the bag is a reusable tote that I plan on reusing as a grocery bag!! I am proud to support Craig's sewing business! read more

I gave my cousin a hostess gift of a gift certificate to buy one of Craig's pillows. This happened in January of 2022. My cousin loved the pillow and put it on her lanai (she lives in Florida). She noticed that there were little black mold spots on the pillow case. She tried many different washing techniques and was unable to get the spots to go away. I was visiting her this week and she told me about it. I reached out to customer service, provided them with all the information they requested. Their first request was the order number, which I provided them which included the date. This is what they told me: It looks like these were purchased almost 2 years ago and would be out of the timeframe for us to replace them. We are happy to provide a 25% discount to her / you for a new order. Why didn't they tell me that when they saw the date? And if the product is defective, who cares how long ago it was ordered! Don't you want your customers to be happy?? read more

Cute pillow store on King Street with a wide array of coastal-themed pillows, throws, candles and more. This is the store of Craig Conover from Southern Charm and it's a tourist attraction beyond anything else. The customer service was not present during my visit as I was not greeted/helped and the items were overpriced for what they were. Wish them the best! read more

I'm sure a lot of people go here hoping to meet Craig but I gotta be honest, I'm so glad he wasn't there because I would have been the one to make a fool out of myself asking him, "excuse me do you work here?" haha so (Side note, I was ironically reading a Bravo Housewives book while I was on vacation and I do love me some bravo but Southern Charm was never one I had watched, sorry!) I went in thinking it was a sewing store (again, I'm so sorry) but quickly learning omg it's a Bravolebrity store! Being an amateur sewist myself, I was loving the merch with the sewing quotes, even though I don't know the context and needed the sales ladies to explain it to me. Also purchased an adorable cupcake pillow because I've just come to accept that my life is being overrun with accent pillows and I'm powerless to stop it. Overall I really loved the store. The selfie wall with the yarn was also a nice touch. I left with a cute "on Sunday's we sew" shirt that I plan to pair with a skirt I made, a pillow, and a commitment to binge watch Southern Charm. I'm on season 3. read more

Cute shop, was hoping to see Craig but honestly wasn't expecting it since it was a Saturday. They have a little variety of things other than pillows. Dog Collars, Koozies, lunch boxes, hats, sweatshirts, etc. The pillows were all pretty tropical / beachy but expensive as one would assume. When we planned our trip to Charleston and Myrtle Beach, one of the first things I said was, we HAVE to stop by Sewing Down South to support one of my favorite Bravo star's business. I assumed the place would be bursting with pillows; however, I was honestly shocked to see how minimalist it was. There were a few pillow but definitely not a variety. It was more of a theme as far as the pillow and the theme was nautical! I was excited to see T-shirts for purchase, except none in the size L, except for one style which wasn't for the person I was buying it for. The store consisted of a WALL OF PILLOWS for decoration, and a few items of everything else. I have to say, I was very disappointed as a fan that watched Craig Conover make his dream come true after being ridiculed for his passions; however, the store had barely any merchandise to buy!! Maybe Craig needs to get back to sewing as the store was quite bare?! read more

Went into this store while in Charleston for vacation, and absolutely loved it!! Then returned to Denver and 2 days later my moms puppy destroyed the hat we had just bought. I reached out to Sewing Down South and told them what happened and that I couldn't find the hat on their website, but would be happy to pay for it over the phone/pay for shipping if they could send me a replacement. They sent my mom a new hat free of charge!! It was the sweetest gesture, and something we will always remember. Can't wait to come back next time we're in Charleston! read more

A bit of a joke. I was in Charleston and wanted to check this place out. I got in a small line to get in. There was some pretty dressed-up girls in line...Charleston's finest. After a short wait, guys came out with wrist bands as apparently they were having a meet and greet event to meet Craig. However, I had to come back in an hour. I explained I just wanted to go in the store, but no dice. All seemed so bizarre...the decor and items in the store seemed cute from a distance. I can't believe all of these are made by "Craig", more like contract manufactured and labeled. I'm sure their is a lot of made in labels... Craig is the main product of this store. read more

Especially love the dresses since I'm 5'10" tall women and the dresses are long enough to cover my bum, unlike fast fashion brands. Love at the attention to detail, the clothes are obvi designed by individuals who put a lot of time and effort into their design. Great patterns and color as well. I now go to Abercrombie & Fitch for my staples (jeans, body suits, white/tan/black solids) and scotch & soda for all my fun pieces.

Decidedly to visit the shop as this brand has a small presence in the West with only an outlet store in Las Vegas. The Charleston store has a boutique feel and is filled with a nice selection of shorts, short sleeve shirts and polos. Many of the clothes have tropical print designs. While the clothes are nice, there were not a lot on sale. There was a small rack of items that were on sale, but it was not very clear as it took up space with items that were regular priced. As a result, I brought up an item to check out initially that was regular price and was lightly scolded by the staff. I did end up buying a pair of shorts here that I liked, but the store experience left a bit of a bad taste. I would consider buying from the brand again, but I will stick to buying online next time. Mostly because there are no locations near where I live on the West Coast.

This place is a whole vibe -- like if freedom, cold beer, and dad jokes had a baby and dressed it in elastic waistbands. The staff? Friendlier than a golden retriever at a tailgate. They sized me up quick, tossed me a pair of shorts that fit better than a saddle on a Sunday ride. I don't know what kind of magic they sew into that fabric, but these shorts are comfier than my recliner and got more stretch than a yoga class for hamsters. They had patterns louder than a honky-tonk jukebox and colors that said, "I'm here to party, but I'll still mow your lawn if you need." Walked out with a couple pairs and the overwhelming urge to shotgun a seltzer on a boat. Bottom line: If your thighs ain't high-fivin' each other in Chubbies, you're wearin' the wrong shorts.

It is full of jewelry, handmade gifts, local art, and all manner of treasures, and so many visitors seem to love the same thing: the sheer variety and the chance to find something that actually feels special rather than mass-produced. That absolutely tracked for us. The Market itself has been a Charleston staple for over 200 years, and it still feels lively, local, and full of character. What really stood out for me was an artist who went by Andy, who had a collection of pop art vinyl records that was genuinely fantastic. Using mixed media, he created pieces featuring different singers, musicians, and bands on old vinyl records, which felt both clever and beautifully done. I chose an amazing Mary J. Blige piece that was also hand-painted, and I was absolutely thrilled with it. The value of your dollar was VERY worth getting one (or more)! Cash only! Overall, this was a thoroughly enjoyable wander and a very good place to find art, gifts, and a few things you did not know you needed. I would happily go back.

It's one of the oldest public markets in the U.S. Has weathered many storms and has been registered in the National Registry of Historic Places. Established in 1788 (even though the inside entrance stats 1807) & as of today it still stands on the premises of monetary trades & services, as well as shared cultural heritage. There are countess vendors throughout this retail galleria. We enjoyed mainly browsing the works of products that were officially certified as Handmade in Charleston. You won't get tired of looking, but a lot of repeat sellers. It's essentially like a flea market if you will. It was fun, but way too much basket weaving vendors. Was so intriguing to watch the Gullah artistry & understand its importance here, but would have liked to have seen and explored MORE local foods. Wished that they would have had a specific area that was an actual type of wet market/ open-air concept or traditional marketplace that sells fresh, perishable foods like meat, seafood, and produce focusing more on local eats and food heritage of its distinct low country cuisine. There were some food spots, just not what we had envisioned or experiencing with other east coast markets we've been to. Bought a bottled water that was over $5! Lynn helped me and said she would do her absolute best to untangle the mess of beautiful necklaces that I provided to her. A couple days later I received a text and went into the store. Every tangle was gone. Necklaces were all in separate bags and received a small bill for their time, with a smile. We will certainly take our jewelry purchasing business here when the time comes.
