Terrible planned parenthood used to be great, long story i short I came with my boyfriend to see when my birth control expires since I lost my paperwork for it. The women in the front would not let him in even though I told them that I have a medical condition like epilepsy and they said we have dr's in here but they let the other couple when it they told us he couldn't go in. Then told me they didn't take my insurance over the weekend, what is that supposed to mean? An d pushed us of the door like we were worth nothing. So immature. read more

Successful first trip to Planned Parenthood. Pro tip, arrive early as this location is busy and it can take up to 15-20 minutes just to get checked in. They also have intake forms for you to fill out if it is your first visit which take a few minutes, as well. If doctor's offices scare you, bring a support buddy even if it's just to process information. It was a bit overwhelming with how busy it was. read more

Staff is nice to me here however their service is super slow. Like really slow. There is no point in scheduling an appt if you're taken in 30 mins to an hour later from your appt time. Pretty unprofessional. On top of that they make you check in 30 mins prior to your scheduled appt yet they are still way behind, makes no sense. I scheduled an appointment for a Pap test/general exam and to discuss switching my birth control because I've been having some issues and troubling symptoms. I got there expecting to wait, so I didn't mind that. After waiting I was brought into intake where a very nice nurse took down my vitals and some of my symptoms. She then informed me that I "probably didn't need a Pap" but that we could discuss changing my birth control. She led me into the internal waiting room, where I waited longer,then when my name was called I was informed my "prescription for birth control was sent to my pharmacy" and that the exit was on the left. I asked why I wasn't seeing a doctor, not even to discuss the issues with my birth control, but wasn't given an answer. I then asked about the Pap test, which they then told me I DID need but would have to schedule another time. I left feeling confused, upset, unheard, and as if I had made an appointment for nothing. I support planned parenthood and the healthcare access they give to those who are denied elsewhere, but today I felt like I was denied access to the healthcare I needed. read more

The people in the front are so rude and this whole place is full of different types of bs. First time I came here there was roaches on the floor still alive. The second time I came the girl asked me for my insurance , I provided her with it and she said my names not on it. I said how is my name not on it if I use this everywhere I go. You need to search up the policy in order to see that. She continued giving me a nasty attitude and said it's not there and she didn't even bother searching it up. They do this on purpose just to get you to pay out of pocket , this place is a legit scam. Once I have proof that I am on the card and the girl didn't bother checking. I was blown away by Dr. Nguyen's bedside manner (among the other staff here). She made sure I was well-informed and answered all of my questions. The staff consistently made me comfortable throughout my visit and made me feel important and heard. I was apprehensive to go outside my usual OB/GYN, but this staff has exceeded expectations. These women are beyond rude and unprofessional. I had emergency medical and when I arrrived for my appointment, my emergency medical was denied and they had no answer as to why. Like no one even thought to say "People might be super concerned about that and we should be able to help as we can." They told me I needed to go down to the "office" to sort it all out. They had no name of the office, no address, NOTHING. WHO'S OFFICE? Where is it? How far away? I mean, yall do this for a LIVING sooooooooo. Also, how do you turn away a PATIENT and give them little to NO info?! Epitome of trash medical service So I MADE them google the damn name of the building and address then the girl acted like she forgot computers all of a sudden. This place is very unprofessional. A nurse dropped a glove on the floor and instead of throwing it away to get a clean one, she just picked it up and put it on. In another room a lady dropped some plastic tubes (that are used for swabs) and put them right back in the drawer. The nurses are always laughing and having conversations about the patients in other languages. They scheduled me incorrectly 3 times. Honestly don't appreciate these so called "nurses" and "drs". Took time off of work three times and didn't get anything resolved. read more

One of the worst experiences I have ever had at a doctors office. I had to wait 1:15 min min after my scheduled time for my appointment. That I took work off for. Due to being short staffed they switched my doctor last min. To an older woman with short white hair. She was dismissive, rude, and is the epitome of why is it so difficult and traumatic to go to the doctors as a black woman in this country. I felt dehumanized and be little by her. She refused to provide me with any care only after talking with me for a min. She seemed uninterested in helping woman. There is a way to respectfully talk to people without profiling and making them feel dehumanized. Over all I got non of my health care needs met, waited for hours, and was pushed out in less that 3min with the doctor. read more

Made an appointment Saturday April 1. 2023 ended up having to wait 2 hours even though I had made an appointment, so I had to reschedule tuesday April 4, 2023 at 8:25 when I got there I had to wait behind 4 other people who didn't even have appointments which isn't fair. I made the appointment I should've been taken in regardless who got there before me then there would be point to booking an appointment if I'm still going have to wait. The purpose of booking an appointment is to not have to wait in line and go in at your scheduled time but the lady in the front that day didn't care read more

I have only been to this location and the one in Santa Monica. I have done walk ins at both locations and have done a couple appointments at the Van Nuys spot. Yes, there will be times when you have a long wait (with or without appointment). Waiting can be a pain, but you have to keep in mind what wonderful services these places provide. Being an individual without health insurance, I am very thankful for institutions like PP. I've seen good and bad doctors and nurses here. I guess it's 50/50 depending on what day and time you go in. There is one doctor I really like named Melinda. I requested her for a procedure I had done, however, they put me with a Russian lady who barely spoke English. It doesn't really put one at ease, but it was still free. Most of the staff here seem very knowledgeable which is a little more reassuring. Parking here is great; they have a huge lot and you won't have any problems. I would recommend this place to people with or without insurance. read more

I'd give no stars if I could. I came here for a procedure last August-September. While I was asleep, one of the lovely staff that had the key to my locker helped herself to to the $300 cash I had in my wallet. I filed a police report and went back to the clinic as soon as I noticed while still out of it from anesthesia. Never received a call back after working with the head of security. So Insane that we're taken advantage of while in a vulnerable situation. Absolutely disgusting human being whoever stole my money. read more

Absolutely incompetent! I cannot believe this center is even open and with the Planned Parenthood brand on it. Staff is rude and does not care for their patients. Expect to wait 3 plus hours. They clearly do not know what they are doing. They refused to do a pap smear on me because they didn't want to make me wait. I said I was okay with waiting and they still refused. I will be filling a complaint with the California Medical Board for how incompetent this center is. read more
