everything they're doing as it's happening. I never feel judged here. Seriously the people who work here must be angels for sure! I've had all THREE of my IUD's done here, and I'll forever keep coming back each and every time I need to get it switched out again! And now that I'm over 25, I've started coming here for my Pap smears as well, and it couldn't have been more quick, easy, and painless. Can't recommend this place enough! read more

Great location. Great people. I love Planned Parenthood. I always will! Support Planned Parenthood!

I had made an appointment to schedule an implant for an IUD. They made me wait two weeks before the set date we had planned. That's fine, sure. Then, I arrived 5 minutes late, drove all the way from longmont to boulder, not a big deal at all but then THEY canceled on ME; because I was late 5 minutes, they treated me as a walk in. Why? I don't know. The reason they canceled on me though was because they were behind on work. You have a client that is needing your help and then you tell me I have to wait two hours? I've got stuff to do people! I mean seriously get your shit together and tell me ahead of time before I arrive. Now they're making me wait another two weeks. I'll do it because i have to. But ya know. Don't keep your hopes high with this place. The people are nice and wonderful don't get me wrong but the service is just ghastly. read more

I had an appointment and arrived six (6) minutes late due to a massive car crash the intersection before this location. Right as I was pulling into the parking lot I got a phone call telling me that I was 6 minutes late and they gave my appointment away and would be treating me as a walk-in. I went into the building and learned that there was no guarantee that I would even be seen. I decided to just leave and schedule an appointment somewhere else. Come to find out their policy states that you can be TEN minutes late before they can give up your appointment. If that's the case, what's the deal? Planned parenthood is one of the only options for some people and because of a car crash causing traffic you're going to give up someone's appointment and violate your policy? I'm very upset about this, treat the people who come to you better. read more

I've been going to this PP since I was 17 (I'm 20 now). They give me lots of information on birth control, especially when I'm thinking of switching to a different method. They are thorough, but a little slow once you are called from the waiting room. Speaking about the waiting room, I've never waited more than 10 minutes to be seen. I want to emphasize how important this PP is, not only to myself, but for every woman or LGBT person seeking help or information. I grew up thinking PP was a "scary" place. After going to the Boulder location, I no longer feel scared to talk about sexual/reproductive health. read more

They were all very kind and reassuring especially when I was in pain from getting the IUD. I am prone to fainting and throwing up when in a traumatic state and they were able to recognize that and make sure I got the care I needed to get out of there safely. They talked with me throughout the whole process so I wasn't surprised when anything happened and they continuously asked if I was doing alright. I am also a transgender male and--without question-- the second I told my my preferred pronouns and name, they jumped right on board and were 110% accepting, making me feel comfortable the whole entire appointment. read more

Planned Parenthood is automatically upgraded a star from what I would otherwise give them simply by virtue of being a Planned Parenthood, which, like Dustin G. said so eloquently before me, is a necessary and vital part of the community. I love the work they do and I love what they stand for, so, thumbs up, Planned Parenthood. I've just not often been treated with the kind of care they say they exemplify here. I've been rushed through appointments and given the hard sell on other services. I was prescribed a type of birth control that has the highest incidence of nauseating people, despite how in my appointment I said not being nauseated was of highest importance to me. I just never felt really listened to. My biggest pet peeve is that they never want to use my insurance when I purchase my Pill packs because the difference between my copay and the cost of the Pill is 'only' $10. First of all, I'm the one who gets to decide whether I use my insurance or not, and second of all, who are they to tell me that $10 per month is chump change?! It's a lot to me. It's just laziness not to run someone's insurance. But I guess all of this is worth having an appointment for $50 with or without insurance and having the knowledge that there's always someplace to go if you get in a bind. read more

I've gotten to the point where I feel like it'd be more efficient to let me check in over the phone then come in two hours later. Thankful for the people and the services, but my goodness. Without fail, every single visit is over 2 hours. It's time consuming and exhausting. read more

I have no complaints. I am able to schedule appointments at the health center and be seen within days, the staff is always very friendly, and I always feel respected. I see lots of complaints on time waiting for appointments and although that may be true, it cancels out the months that you would be waiting to see an OBGYN. I once called to make an appointment to an OBGYN and they said the next available appointment was 1 month away. Try going in with a more calm demeanor, bring a book or laptop, and expect a little bit of a wait. The workers at the health center are doing their best with the number of staff members they have. We need to support the planned parenthoods we still have left in this country. read more

Me and my boyfriend went in to get STI/STD testing and him an IUD(he's female to male transgender) and the staff made us both feel welcome and accepted by asking our pronouns, proffered name, etc. They are also very non judgmental for everyone that walks through their doors no matter what they were there for or their history. They also make sure you feel comfortable the whole time by telling you what all they are going to do next and saying you can decline to answer any questions that are brought up etc. Thank you to everyone at Planned Parenthood for creating such a safe and welcoming environment! read more

I love Planned Parenthood for so many reasons and have been thankful to have their help for the last 25 years, but I had a very upsetting experience with their Boulder Colorado office. All I can say as a warning to others... PLEASE DO NOT EVER DO THEIR FINGER PRICK HIV TEST!!! Do the actual bloodwork one that you have to wait a few days for. The rapid finger prick test gives false positives and you may be sick and worried for days thinking you have HIV!!!! We will never go to PPH again. read more

Terrible customer service. I have been on hold for 3 hours. Not to mention about 6 months ago I called and scheduled an annual health check up, and the guy on the phone scheduled me for a Pap smear at 15 years old. This is why I only like to deal with them every 6 months. I am about to just show up and ask for them to refill my birth control because they would not answer my call. Plan your entire day around a planned parenthood appointment. It is impossible to reach an actual human being from their phone number read more

I had read some pretty unfavorable reviews about this clinic, so I was a bit trepidatious about scheduling my appointment here. Let me tell you, I didn't find the clinic or the people that worked there to be anything but wonderful. The whole experience was professional, informative, clean; everything you would want and expect from PP. Everyone took very good care of me...I will definitely go back. read more

Professional and clean, well lit building, the staff seems to actually care about their job which is refreshing. One of the best clinics I've ever been to. Our community is so much better off with providing these services. read more

I am absolutely appalled after my visit to get a new birth control implant. I was told by two staff that my implant lasted 5 years, not the 3 years that I have paperwork showing. I was told if I wanted to get my implant removed, I would be charged for the visit due to the implant supposedly lasting longer. I requested proof of this and was provided NOTHING relevant. I was given an informed consent form with general instructions of the implant process. Not one thing about my specific brand of birth control nor the change in length of it. I was told the clinic didnt have paperwork from Nexplanon nor the FDA. I canceled my appointment and contacted Nexplanon to ask about this "change." On the website it specifically states the implant MUST be removed at 3 years and have a new one inserted. There is only ONE study showing it could last 5 years. The actual company of the birth control DOES NOT recommend what these staff members told me. This is medical negligence. Had I not done my own research and ended up pregnant, this would have been a travesty. This clinic has been reported to the medical board. This is absolutely alarming and triggering for me as 10 years ago I had an abortion due to faulty birth control. I highly recommend everyone steer clear of this location. read more

Nothing but a positive experience from speaking to the ladies at the desk to getting my Nexplanon insertion. Carol and Linda were incredibly kind, informative, and truly eased my nerves throughout the process. I could tell I was in great hands and the insertion process was much easier than I expected. Great experience, love this location! read more

I dread coming here all the time. I had an appointment at 9 am and came in before the appointment. Three people were already waiting and went in before me. 2 out of 3 came out and 45 mins later I'm still waiting. What is the point of having an appointment to wait almost an hour to go in? I asked the front desk how much longer since I've waited for so long and all she could say was "they took your chart so maybe they're just getting your room ready?" How long does it take to put paper on the bench? This isn't the first time either, it's every time I go in. read more

this place is utter shit now. after trying to call multiple times the past week i finally spoke to someone and requested a new birth control prescription. gio up front only said they have the 30th available. i need my birth control bt tuesday this week. gio then told me it's basically, its my fault for not making sure i had it earlier. holy shit the audacity. it's your job to answer the phone so people can make appointmens. i have literally tried soooo hard to get any sort of person to answer me this past week. his is pathetic, whoever runs this place is the worst and i am fed up. seeing other reviews, this place does nothing but judge and laugh at you, and just probably goes on lunch through the whole shift. read more

As the other reviewers below said, this is definitely an important part of any community. In addition to the medical services they provide, they also are there for you if you need any counseling, or can provide you with the needed resources, and they really respect your privacy. On any forms you fill out, they ask you how you'd like them to be identified as on the phone, in case you're living with your parents or other people who would not be happy with the fact that you're going to PP, or that you just want privacy. I felt that I was treated like a human and not just a patient. With both the PA and the NP I had real conversations about life in general, other than just my medical history, and was even told about some social events going on in Boulder. In case you really need help, PP is the place to go if you're facing an emergency or are in a bind, or also just a place to get regular 'girly doctor' things done in a welcoming and comfortable environment. read more

I wanted to get an IUD and called around to various doctors in the city and most wouldn't be able to see me until June. I went online and was able to easily schedule an appointment for the same day through the Planned Parenthood website and I also called them to get more info on how to prepare. They were nice enough to run my insurance and call me back to let me know that it was 100% covered, since it was an in-office procedure. Once I got there, I already knew that I would most likely be waiting there for a while. Luckily I wasn't in a hurry but I understand that if you only have a limited amount of time to wait around it can be frustrating. I waited about an hour, and was there around a total of two hours. The nurse practitioner was friendly and consoled me when I was getting anxious about the whole process. Even better, I was asked to be part of a study that allowed a support person to be in the room and coach me through the entire experience. I don't know what I would have done if I didn't have her reassuring me and walking me through each step. The doctor was equally helpful and made sure to ask if I had any questions. The best part was that she told me exactly what was happening and took her time with making sure I was comfortable. My whole experience at PP was exceptional and I can't recommend it enough. My only complaint would be the waiting room times, but as long as you go in there expecting to hang around, it is not that bad. read more

Went in to get an IUD, had no idea which one to get. The people at the front desk were so friendly and understanding, the nurse answered all 75 of my questions :-) and for the insertion the nurse was very gentle. Couldn't think of a better place to go without having pay ridiculous co pays. read more

I've been going here for years and it's always a breeze. I can get my birth control in the clinic so I don't have to mess with a pharmacy and waiting in line forever. The staff is very nice and helpful. My wait time is usually around 10-15 minutes which in my opinion for a clinic is quick. Other places have me wait for about 45 minutes to an hour. Very happy with Planned Parenthood and I honestly have nothing negative to say. read more

I had been suffering from severe UTI pain but had to put on two events for my boss yesterday and had basically no time to get to the doctor. I was trying to flush it out with lots of water and cranberry pills but it had gotten to a threshold I couldn't handle anymore. I ran into Planned Parenthood and pretty much demanded that I be seen because I had to throw a party and schmooze a bunch of people in an hour. Despite my state of frantic and slight b****yness, the staff remained calm and understanding and rushed me through to the doctor since the waiting room was pretty vacant. Everyone was incredibly kind and definitely could have been rude due to the pain-induced scene I was making. I started going here because it's the only place in Boulder my insurance covers but I'm thinking that was a blessing in disguise. read more

Huge fail. I was on schedule to be 10 minutes early, and then I got completely lost in the parking lot. I tried to phone for directions, but it was impossible to get a human on the line. The automated directions were not helpful. Wound up asking a couple employees at Einstein Bagels for directions, which got me on the right track (next: 5 star review of Einstein's.) Still had a terrible time trying to find the entrance. Showed up 20 minutes late and was not given any real information as to whether I still had an appointment. I was given a lot of vague details about how the bureaucracy works, but no one was willing to answer the question, "Do I still have an appointment?" Two different people told me the exact same thing 10 minutes apart. "Yes, this is what I was told earlier. Do we have any new information? Yes, that's exactly what your colleague told me. Why am I being told this again with no updates?" I was considering backing Planned Parenthood, but at this point I'll be directing my money elsewhere. The way they interact with patients is unprofessional, disorganized, and entirely unhelpful. I thought the whole purpose of PP was to make healthcare accessible. Instead, they made it tedious, humiliating, and a massive waste of time. A clinic that literally doesn't know what to do with a patient who's 20 minutes late doesn't deserve the time of day. read more

Planned Parenthood provides services that many men and women need - it's a shame that clinics like this one make getting necessary health care so difficult. The staff at this clinic tried to coerce me into taking a form of birth control that would be extremely harmful to me. Women with long-term depression like me are strongly cautioned against taking depo-provera. The side-effects of this birth control can continue for weeks after treatment is stopped. My concerns were dismissed by a staff that was incredibly rude and unprofessional. The clinician dismissed the health problems I had with birth control - such as severe bleeding and worsened depression - as "minor annoyances." None of the staff would discuss other options and I was sent away without any help. read more

This is the worst Planned Parebthood establishment I have ever been to. The first time I went they lost my Medicaid card and never found it (HOW DOES THIS HAPPEN?!?!?) after I waited an hour for my appointment and then sat in the room for 30 minutes. And the second time I went I had an appointment at 12 on my lunch break and got there at 11:50, checked in, and waited 30 minutes. I went up and asked How much longer and dhe said she didnt know and that there were 2 people in front of me. How were there 2 people in front of me 30 minutes after my appointment should have been? They lied to me and made me waste my lunch break. I will never be coming back here. I was trying to get an appointment for a week and finally got one and then this. The ladies are nice but all they do is chat about their lives. I'm SO disappointed. read more

Honestly, the most incompetent planned parenthood/health center I have ever been too. I love planned parenthood and I have been using their services for years. I thought the Boulder location would have it's shit together, but I was wrong! The staff is young, awkward, and gave me incorrect information multiple times. I had an issue with an IUD and went through HELL trying to get it fixed through these people. I had to go back multiple times and the staff is so slow and unorganized, the process was almost more painful than the pain in my abdomen. There is a women's center in town that I will use in the future. Do better planned parenthood, I had such high expectations! read more

I had such a positive(ba dum dum) experience here, and I could not be more grateful to this invaluable organization. Planned Parenthood is a port in a storm for so many. I won't be the first to attest, sometimes being a woman can be scary as shit. The facility itself was clean, quiet, and conveniently located. I love the fact you can make appointments online, or even walk in with no appointment. Every employee I dealt with was so kind, intelligent, and thorough. I visited another local women's clinic six months prior, and despite the fact that I received competent treatment, I felt that the staff was quite brusk and unfriendly. When you're getting tested the big H, it's comforting to see a smiling face. I was able to hit several birds with one stone with my visit. I walked out with a stash of birth control large enough to sterilize a small nation; now I don't have annoy myself with monthly visits to Walgreens, trying to resist the impulse purchases/candy aisle. I appreciate you tremendously PPH. read more
