The reason I am putting this some what poor review is because of a recent encounter with the family practice department reception desk. Specifically Gwen, my husband needed an rx picked up and I was told to pick up at foothills location. Well by the time I arrived and realized it was supposed to be broadway it was 4:45. I had asked the receptionist Julie if she wouldn't mind calling the broadway location to let them know I'm on my way but to leave it downstairs to be picked up at urgent care. Well the phones were turned off as if the facility was closed... Julie the very nice and helpful receptionist at foothills was very unhappy that she even could not get through on the phones so she went in the back and figured out how to get through. When she did finally reach someone she was told that wasn't an option and that I would have to pick it up the following day. The thing is my husband was in need of this medication and could not wait until tmrw. Julie was very frustrated and handed the phone to me and I discussed the importance to Gwen over and over again. She ended up asking for advice from someone still in the office. She returned with "I can do this just this one time but in the future this will not happen!" I understand this but it was not my fault I was told the wrong location and it was not my fault that she turned the phones off at a quarter till 5! Absolutely unprofessional to turn the phones off to a dept that is supposed to be open until 5PM!!!!! I tried to call on my way to check and it kept circulating prompts! I am very very disappointed and very unhappy with this situation. If I had never been to the BMC I would have given 1 star.

BMC is atrocious the way they treat patients and loyalty.

The women up front were very kind and helpful, and my daughter was seen within 20 minutes of arrival. The doctor was professional, kind, mild mannered, and easy to talk to. We opted to give her a variety of different test to ensure she didn't have anything serious, and it turned out just fine. We have pretty mainstream insurance and I paid $60 upfront and $60 later on. This seemed reasonable due to the nature of the visit. It turns out she didn't need any medicine, but we had lots of peace of mind going to visit our family, knowing that we were gonna be a-ok.

She told me to change my job without hearing about my background. I felt like I was on trial for seeking pain pills when I was not even remotely interested in pain pills! We have a problem in society where people in pain or somehow judged. I was looking for someone to work with me on alternative options and it was a one-way dialogue. It took months to get into see her as well. Save your money and your time. There is a great pain clinic in Denver. Find that and go there.

The location in Boulder is very convention, ample building and parking. There are several different services and specialties available under one roof, and a good location fro their patients who need to be closer than Anschutz for regular care. There are clinics for family medicine, heart and vascular, an eye center, a pharmacy, a lab and other specialties. There are providers that are here full time as well as some who rotate in from Anschutz and other locations in some specialties. I have been a patient here of several providers, in several areas over the years. In fact, before they opened this larger facility, I was a patient at their previous locations in central Boulder. This may be a bit farther for me but still only 10-12 minutes depending on traffic. Very convenient and even more convenient for those farther east in Boulder. I am very pleased with the many providers I have seen. Also, the check in staff and medical assistants are nice to work with. If your insurance covers this option, and mine does, I think may people could be quite happy with the choice. And know that if you need a broader range of specialties or a lab that is walk in, not strictly advance appointments, the UCH system has grown considerably in Longmont. This is still a lot closer than Anschutz and referrals to these other locations in the UCH system are readily available.

I needed the ER after a nasty accidental cut. My clumsy vision impaired fault. I had done something…read moresimilar a few years ago and ride to heal it on my own. It took a month to close the finger wound which was not a good outcome of my poor choice. This winter I had a worse but similar insult to the same finger so I did go to the ER and their efficient care of the finger allowed it to heal properly. This time we made the same choice for a smaller ct on a different finger and it has healed extremely well. From the moment I arrived, bloody hand wrapped , I was treated efficiently and politely, from register g window to assessment to treatment. Clerical staff and medical staff are well trained. On 1 visit, I actually needed an MD but the most recent used a PA who did a fine job. The various techs who were used to clean the wounds as well as remove stitches later were also efficient and accurate at task. I am lucky to have this fairly near by, though not as close as when BCH had the facility right in town. Back then it was a much shorter distance for my family, especially when transporting one of my children. But progress requires more and different space and with this facility accessible to a few highways it is better for the greater community that has moved to the suburbs of Boulder. Since I have good insurance and have used this facility in the past. They can process my emergencies quite quickly. There were other patients in line too, some with far greater injuries so appropriate that they were taken even more quickly and were served by the discs. Broken ribs from bicycle incidents have been other cases with priority both times. Such a Boulder situation so be careful out there!

Dr. Winter is very methodical and careful, and always gives my retinas a thorough examination because I had tears in them way back in 2016. I have a lot of confidence in his work. The facility is more cozy than Rock Creek and easier to get to and get around in, although they only have a few specialties here. My wife's optometrist (Dr. Shealeen Panetta) is also here, so we visit the facility fairly frequently. The facility just finished a long remodel, which was messy, but it's all finished now and looks good.

I had experienced what I perceived to be discrimination at this pharmacy in the past. I understand, Andre, as the supposed "manager" needs to take claims like mine seriously. He was NOT discreet, he used a tone of voice and behavior that was domineering/aggressive and he embarrassed me in front of the other customers. I am actually, quite perplexed at the moment. I dont care how bad of a day youre having. I have worked in customer service many, many years. You dont approach a follow up with such hostility and lack of empathy. What sound manager approaches the alleged victim of discrimination in such a threatening and hostile manner. HE could tell I was uncomfortable and he kept pressing. In the process she asked me 3-4 times for my name... then the same for my birthdate... then for my appointment time... then continued fumbling around while squinting at her monitor, apparently trying to figure out how to use the program. By the time she had figured things out, I was ONE MINUTE past my appointment window... a lateness which she had caused... so she told me that I had to go to another counter. "Don't worry," she said, "They just have to tell the doctor." So I went to where she directed me to go and spoke to a pleasant woman who left me several times to talk to someone (Dr. Berlioz?). Ultimately, she told me that I would have to reschedule, even though I had arrived on time and it was Berlioz's staff who had caused the check-in tardiness. I asked to speak to the Office Manager, to explain the situation... confident that the person would acknowledge their obvious error and get me in to see Dr. Berlioz (mostly to get an expired prescription renewed). A stern woman named Maria (?) came out and immediately made it clear that I would have to reschedule... not caring that THEY had caused the situation.., and to come to this appointment I had gone to two bloods draws, missed work and driven from Louisville... as well as how my prescription would not be renewed/refilled without this visit. My logic/predicament fell on uncaring, deaf ears. I am just so, so disappointed in Dr. Ramirez-Berlioz and her staff. Not only did they refuse to see me (despite their error), but they have yet to contact me afterwards (as promised by the Office Manager). Further, they had the nerve to charge me $75 for this... and my prescription has now lapsed. What a blatant violation of the Hippocratic Oath! This is a systemic problem within Boulder Medical Center. Poor treatment of patients and poor communication. I have filed complaints against Dr. Berlioz with the Colorado Medical Board, and against the facility with CDPHE.
