I used to visit Planet Smoothie all the time when I was pregnant because they had great deals on Fridays! It's been a while since I had one of their smoothies--my son is now 6! The menu has changed so much that I couldn't decide what to order. I finally went with the Bubble Trouble smoothie, which included mango boba, strawberries, mango, lemon juice, and orange juice. It was delicious! The mango boba was a special treat towards the end. I also bought my son a nice, chewy double chocolate chip cookie, which he thoroughly enjoyed. One star is generous. I'd give them negative if it was an option. We ordered ahead so that we could get our athletes a quick snack before they had to be at their meet. We walked into a line of people and ONE person working. She was less than helpful and didn't really seem to know what she was doing. We waited over 20 minutes AFTER we arrived at the store for our online order to even be started. Why bother opening if you have ONE person working? We visited at 12:40p on Friday April 19th. I had a very unusually unpleasant experience here this morning. Their was a new trainee being supervised as my smoothie was being made. It's took a about 10 minutes for my drink and to be made. I got and upgraded sized and asked for my drink to be poured into a styrofoam cup as I would be drinking it over several hours. I was refused. I asked if I could please purchase a styrofoam cup and was again refused. A little put off this morning after spending $10 being refused a CUP! I'm here multiple times a week, hopefully it it's better next time. read more

I love Planet Smoothie, especially the Dr. Philips location! Sometimes the line is long, and there aren't always enough blenders to accommodate the crowd. But, my smoothie always comes out delicious and just as I ordered it so it is worth the wait! The staff members are always friendly and helpful. The owners are there a lot of the times I stop in and they're always friendly to all of the guests. I've even seen them making smoothies when there is a long line! Bonus points for that! I was totally disappointed for a chain who's mission statement is to promote health on the planet, left me bewildered. 1. The smoothies are made with fresh fruits. But they also use artificial flavors ladden with sugars. The healthiest of smoothie there have a whopping 48g of sugar more than regular Coke. If you are a diabetic one of this drink can send you into a sugar tailspin. Healthy not really... 1 sip of the smoothie I had to throw it away due to the amount of sugar. I've been to smoothie spots around the country. I come to Orlando once a year and always stop somewhere to get a smoothie. This location is the worst line I've ever waiting in my whole life. There were 2 people in front of me in line and 2 people waiting for their orders when I arrived. That's not that long of a line. It's been 30 minutes since walking through the door, and my order still hasn't been taken. There's one girl behind the counter who's taking an unreasonably long amount of time to make each smoothie. Maybe she's new. Maybe Planet Smoothie just doesn't train their employees well. But I'm extremely disappointed in the service here. We love going to Planet Smoothies while on vacation. The smoothies have real fresh fruit, are filling, and so delicious. The lobby and bathrooms were clean. The server was polite and fixed our smoothies quickly. The lobby was empty so we drank them there. Lots of to-go orders. I had a real craving for a smoothie the other so decided to pop into Planet Smoothie. This was my first time having one of their smoothies. I was immediately greeted by a very nice employee. I told her what I wanted and she was very active in helping me make my decision. Upon receiving it, it was very good and exactly what I asked for but a bit too sweet for my taste. I think the sweetness kinda ruined the smoothie for me. It was a bit overpowering and made it taste kinda unnatural. There is one guy there that makes the smoothies great and everyone else is a teenage girl more concerned with gossiping and texting than worrying about making a correct smoothie or even being polite and welcoming. I really hate to do this, but this is one of the worst planet smoothies around. I'll tell you why: 1. My mother owned a planet smoothie for years. I know how to make every one of those smoothies. The problem here is--THEY DONT. 2. I've noticed every time I've had someone from England make my smoothie, it's completely icy and watery. No flavor. 3. They do not follow recipes properly. They only seem to be able to make simple smoothies correctly. So if I were you, I would only order chocolate Elvis here (which they still manager to mess up at times) or twig and berries. 4. If you want an açaí smoothie, make sure you say low on the ice. Or else it'll taste like straight water with a splash of fruits. 5. Overall, I avoid coming here after they've failed about ten times. Ps. One time I bought a chocolate Elvis, made the mistake of not trying it until I got to work 10 min later. It was terrible. I called them to tell them, and their response was "Oh yeah I remember I made that wrong." Their problem is probably not enough training for new employees. Lucky to not have one star. read more

I go to this Planet Smoothie quite a bit since it is on my way home. There usually isn't a line and the smoothies are consistently good. Yes the owner is often there and it's great to see her because I know the smoothie will be made right. I did have one bad experience there however one Sunday afternoon. They left some poor kid in there by himself and it seemed like it was his first day there or something. He had to keep adjusting the big "cheat sheet" chart they use for making the different smoothies that's when we knew we were in trouble. It took at least 20 minutes for me to get our smoothies that day, there was only one person in front of us. It never took that long before. But what grossed us out was when he had to thaw out the Acai extract (which comes in a small plastic bag). He put the frozen Acai packets in a bucket in the sink while he is running around putting everything else together. Then he goes over and grabbed the bags out of the water and cut/squeezed the bag into our cup! The water is dripping down his hands and off the plastic bags right into the smoothie cup. Then he added some ice and blended it. Yuck we have to drink that, man!! He wasn't even wearing gloves. Poor training. I'll still go back because 99% of the time they're awesome, but never again on a Sunday afternoon. read more
