We were at Atlantic City on a Sunday night and there wasn't much opened but Planet Rose had a spot on stage with my name on it. I have been to the Plant Rose in New York and I had a good time there but the one here is bigger and has a stage unlike the one in New York. The drinking menu was decent but all I had all night was their strong jello shots. That came me enough courage to go on stage and sing Bon Jovi's "It's My Life" and even thoug I'm a terrible singer, the audience was so encouraging and sang along. I waited 30 minutes before it was my turn to sing but everyone who sang was so entertaining. The only service that there was came from the bar but the bartender was very friendly and quick in making drinks. I can't wait to go again for the next time I'm at Atlantic City. read more

I love Tropicana. it's my favorite resort in AC. Unfortunately, an employee at Planet Rose named Bobby, who holds himself out as the manager/bartender, is HORRIBLE. Bobby is Rude and disrespectful to well paying customers. Bobby is not good for business, Bobby's idea of customer service is to advise a cash paying customer in good standing to " hire an attorney & file a lawsuit" to sue Planet Rose. Bobby should not be the manager bc he has no concept of customer service. There is a common practice at Planet Rose of taking half full drinks off the table as soon as a patron gets up to use the bathroom or pay for a kareohe song, This has happened to me on more than one occasion. I get up to go to bathroom or pay for a song & upon my return to my table, my drink is gone. Usually I won't complain & just buy another drink but today, my drink was mostly full. This is a disingenuous tactic used to force patrons to buy more drinks. Upon informaction & belief, Bobby, the manager of Planet Rose cares more about making money on drinks & under age admissions then he cares about following the law regarding the legal age to enter a club that serves alcohol. Overcrowded so much so it's a fire hazard. Above occupancy limit. People visibly intoxicated way above the limit. I can only imagine people leaving there and driving home and getting into a car accident and killing somebody. read more

When looking for a karaoke bar in the area, I asked an Uber driver what he recommends. He immediately named Planet Rose, so I had to check it out! This bar is situated inside Tropicana on the third floor, I believe. When in doubt, there is a directory to help you find your way to it! When walking into the bar, we were greeted with a welcoming bouncer. There was no cover charge, but we were the only ones there; it seemed they were preparing for a $5 cover. Eventually, we got the courage to karaoke but learned you have to pay $2 per song you want to sing. This was a little bit of a bummer, but it didn't stop us! Also, it's important to note that there is a $5 minimum to use a card. There were also signs on the tables advertising that there was a 1 drink minimum...so I guess you can't just come to hang out? (Again, not a problem for me but something that is important to note) All in all, I had a good experience here. I can say I wasn't expecting all the little "rules" and charges, but I get that it's the way of a touristy area! read more

I'm a fan. The family and I celebrated my mom's 50th birthday here. My mom wanted to do something a bit more fun than a stuffy dinner and this place definitely met her expectations. My dad booked the small private room and table along the wall for about 25 to 30 of our family and friends to come and celebrate my mom's 50th birthday. The bartender was very nice and extremely helpful and the host was hilarious. Some of the other patrons were hilarious and made the night more interesting as well. My only complaint is that the couches and carpet are very grungy. They really need a good cleaning. Overall the experience was great and we'll be back. read more

Went into this place at the Tropicana Atlantic City. We were charged $5.00 cover charge, paid $9.00 for beers and $8.00 for mix drinks which was served in what appeared to be a 7 oz cup full of ice. Those who wished to sing had to pay an additional $2.00 per song. I didn't get the cover charge if this place solely relies on its patrons to be the entertainment. We were very disappointed and will never reccomend this overpriced, overrated place to anyone. read more

What an amazing experience!! Planet Rose was soooo much fun!! Everything was exceptional! The bartenders and wait staff were so fantastic! 2 Stars? Whhhaaaaaa? But the cranberry juice was only $3! Got here at like 2:30 AM and the place was bumpin'. If you're not in the mood to get date raped at a club, this is the place for you my friends! It had a very rockerish' vibe...like a place where biker gangs would hang out, but (white) dudes were singing 90's hip hop and Britney Spears songs on stage. Dope. There's a reason this place has the reviews it has. Came in on Friday Night on Memorial Day weekend. I'm literally sitting here as I type this. The "bouncer" told us there was a one drink minimum for karaoke. Once inside we were told songs were $2 each unless you bought two well drinks. But wait - they don't tell you the drinks have to be over $8. So my rum and coke didn't count. The bartender was extremely rude. If everything else is dead - it's not worth ending up here. Awesome little bar and really fun karaoke! Went there for my sister in laws 30th and we all had a really good time. Here's the kicker... I accidentally left my id and debit card with the bartender and couldn't come back to Atlantic City to get it... They were super helpful and kind through the process of getting it back to me. Crowd was high energy with a mix of great singers and those with "plenty of gusto." :) Felt the bartender was very nice and accommodating. i ranked it as NOT GOOD because couldn't go any lower. There for my fiances birthday and wanted to sing for her. First time here. It was a planned stop in the night. Everything was fine until........ after sitting for over an hour waiting to be called and watching repeat patrons, I approached the counter. Young girl. nice. no qualms. asked where i stood in que. 4th. well another 30/40 minutes go by and i go back to counter. now i'm at the bottom of the list. at this point it was "shown to me" by the Manager (heh) reference to a small picture on the side wall). was then informed that people can pay to cut the line (call it whatever you want). Understood. common place. However, there should be some limitation to how many times a PAYING customer (albeit $2) gets kidded to the side. I can slam a couple of people especially the manager (heh). Someone needs to train the staff in 1) recognizing not everyone has been there before 2) explain everything when asked a question not just its "$2 a song" and 3) get someone with experience and customer service background to manage the business. I recognize this review will go nowhere. but if the owners should see this.... I would have terminated 2 of the staff last night. Im in the business. read more

You can always tell when the management of a place finally gets a look at their Yelp reviews. All of a sudden, stellar 4-and-5-star reviews start popping up in quick succession from "Yelpers" with only one review and no picture. We're not stupid, Planet Rose. I've been a few times, so here's the real deal on this place: The staff, crowds, and DJ are not awesome. Like at all. Paying to sing karaoke is ludicrous in the first place, but paying to WAIT an inordinate amount of time to sing karaoke is insulting. And if you're a male who is not a total toolbag, or a female who is only average looking and/or not stupid drunk, don't expect to sing your song before your next birthday. I don't mind there being a cover to get in, but the bouncers always seem to have some overexaggerated need to prove their manliness. You know what Freud would say about that one... The drinks I've had there have been really weak. It sucks, cause this place has the potential to be a lot of fun. If you can convince four other people to waste their time and money for the night, the private rooms are definitely the way to go. Arrived with a party of four, and he demanded to search our girls' bags for weapons, while casually placing it hands on their arms and sides at will. Kind of lame, but we put up with because we thought it might be a cool place. His unwarranted search resulting in his refusal of admission while one girl still had a water bottle (since when is this a problem)? So we ditched the water bottle, and he then begins an incohorrent rant about the loss of chivalry while poking me with my own license. Long story short, I swiped my license from his hand, called for my group, and we bailed to the (much cooler) 40's bar. My friend, the bride wanted to do private room karaoke here for the second evening of her Bachelorette getaway, and so this review reflects that. I highly, highly, HIGHLY recommend, if you're in a group of at least five, that you look into booking the private room. It is SO much fun, and way better than being outside in the bar (especially from what we observed). Anyway, the private room comes equipped with your own cocktail waitress, a 'bouncer' (at one point, some idiot couple came in trying to sit down with us, and he got tem out of there post stat). It is $10 per person, per hour, and we were able to get this place for 2 hours, and then when we realized that we didn't really want to go any where, and were having way too much fun in our own group, we were able to get another hour. The private room is equipped with a half circle bench/couch, tables, and a very easy to use karaoke system that lets you punch in your song selections and reserve songs, so you can go non-stop. There are two mics, and even though it is private, there are windows for everyone to look in (and who wouldn't want to look in on a group of 11 fabulous girls, half of us rocking killer tats, screaming/singing our hearts out, and jumping and dancing on sofas??) but it is soundproof, so really you can get lit, sing til your hearts content, and amuse yourselves (and everyone outside!) for a reasonable amount of money. If you're looking for a fun alternative during an AC weekend, I highly suggest looking into booking the private room for your group. read more

I visited Planet Rose this past weekend. The door person was very nice and welcoming. It's a very small establishment and has a single private karaoke room that you can rent by the hour. There is a one drink per person minimum which is different, but not terrible. What surprised me is they charge $2/song for karaoke and they have a book of songs. Their system isn't digital/internet based. This leaves some restrictions when it comes to artists/songs. The karaoke host didn't seem as personable as the rest of the staff? They definitely weren't rude, just not as personable. The woman sanitizing the mics and prepping singers was great! The bathrooms weren't that clean and needed some repairs. My group and I had a great time. Overall, the people coming in were fun, supportive, and had good energy. I overheard a few jerks complaining to staff about cleaning/sanitizing the private karaoke room, "wait time," and a couple other minute things. I think staff handled the situations well and there will always be jerk patrons (especially drunks at a casino). read more

Went here on a girls night out in A.C. Using the free night stay at harrahs compliments to yelp :-) Now see I am the kareooke queen... Been to a million places and sang probably a million songs in em'... This place was a bit of a joke compared to most of them... Huge selection of songs...crap sound system.. Also not a fan of paying per song ...$2 to be exact, but still when you are the songbird of your generation this just doesn't fly..how am I supposed to put a monetary cap on the mount of songs I can sing in one night?!!! I always make sure to stop here. on the weekends its $5 to get in which can be an annoying, $2 a song to sing, but they have aloooot of songs. The hostess is usually a riot. Theres only one private room. so when you sing..youre up for judgement. bathrooms are disgusting but at least they have private ones. We came for my birthday and although I got free admission for my special day, we basically waited until close (3-4 hours since we got there a little after midnight) for our turn although they said it was only an hour wait. While in AC, we saw from the little hotel book from the Trop that there is a karaoke bar. My friend and I were super excited, except my fiance and my friend's husband were like "are you girls seriously doing karaoke?". Well, after doing 3 shots of washington apple and 2 vodka beverages, OH YES WE ARE DOING KARAOKE. We went to Planet Rose, and walked right up to the DJ. He seemed cool at first, my friend and I were flipping through the songbooks, and he introduced himself to us as "K". We realized that it is $2.00 per song and you have the option to "bump" yourself up the line by a certain amount of spots for a certain price. This is a little ridiculous... I have never "paid" for karaoke EVER. K even admitted that they want customers to buy lots to drink, that's why they sometimes delay their songs so the longer they wait, the more drinks they buy. After giving me and my friend a little bit of a hard time (can't really read him, don't know if he was trying to be funny, or if he really is an a-hole), he took our money and song slips. We proceed to head over closer to the "stage" area and there were definitely more males than females there. However, there were a group of women toward the front of the stage, and some of them are very nice and chatty. Our first song came on shortly, we sang and got some cheers. The crowd was very friendly and supportive, which is why I gave this place 2 stars instead of 1. There were a few regulars I can tell, and one of them is some guy who looks like Wayne Brady but 30lbs heavier. He was in a suit and was introducing himself as "the one and only"... *gag* After not being up on stage for a long stretch, we went to harrass K about the order... how come some people are up twice before we went on again? He lets us go on again but not without putting up a little fight. Later on the Wayne Brady Look-a-like was hitting on me and my friend, which I find disturbing. We were nice about it though, but still wasn't cool as our men were right around the corner! This place has potential but it's kind of BS that you have to pay to sing just to have the host sing over you. I've always thought that a host's mic should be off while someone is singing, and he shouldn't be talking or singing into it while someone is performing. Really annoying. It wasn't so bad with us, but really bad with other performers and they looked disappointed. If you are paying to skip over someone, be sure to ask the price because the prices on the sign are wrong (it's a paper printout that would take all of 5 seconds to fix). Also, the private room has some sound issues. Whenever we used both mics we had horrible feedback issues and no one was able to fix it for us. read more
