The displays were well curated (not just whatever is trending on goodreads), and the recommendations were interesting. I spent more of my time upstairs, in the new books section, than in the used books downstairs. The staff was helpful and friendly (and also quite professional while on the phone with a man who (based on my eavesdropping) was asking if they could help him find a ghostwriter for his memoir). When they didn't have the book that I was looking for in stock, they gave me a few recommendations for other local bookstores which they thought might carry it. There's a reason they've been in business so long. The owner explained to me that he's happy when a record finds a good a home, so the used stock is usually below Discogs. New stuff is also retail price and there's plenty of both used and new. He's also super helpful and knows exactly where an album is on the shelf if he has it. Online stock is pretty reliable, too, so you can pre-shop. Just email them if you want them to hold something and don't use the online checkout. They also have a shop in Providence and can move stock around quickly if you see something there but can't drive down. Dig here, you won't be disappointed!

The shop was extremely busy, so Chris asked if I already had a price for them in mind... I hadn't thought about it much, so I shouted out a random number and after a few minutes he came back to me with A HIGHER offer than I originally asked. I am not basing my experience solely on this matter, as nearly everything about the vibe and atmosphere was perfect, however, I absolutely believe this sets a giant precedent that most people need to know about Armageddon; there is honesty and true costumer relations. I cannot recommend this shop highly enough, and I will absolutely be back every time I come to Boston!
