When you first pull into the parking lot, you don't think much of it as the building next to the convenience store is abandoned. It does not have a beautiful façade but when you walk in, it's a mom and Pop small ethnic grocery store. You order your food at the counter. The menu is kind of limited however there is quite a bit of healthy options. We went with the lamb kebab over rice and the gyro sub. unfortunately, I did not realize that the prices go up if you pay with credit card, so remember to bring cash if you want to save money. After you place your order you can wander this very small aisles to look at a variety of different drink options, etc. The food did take a little bit longer than expected to prepare. The lamb kebab over rice was delicious and had the perfect balance of spice. The sub itself unfortunately was a little disappointing. Maybe I'm not familiar with New York style subs, but I found the bread to be underwhelming and the actual ingredients inside the sub to be slightly disappointing. I think it would be better to serve the euro in a pita. I don't know about the other sandwiches that other people rave about however, maybe I will try that the next time we come in with cash, of course.

Penny Drip was open at 8:30am (blasting incredible music btw), ready to go. I got a vanilla latte (for me) and a pistachio matcha (my partner). The environment has a slightly industrial feel with just a hint of coziness, which gives it a modern but still comfortable vibe. I ordered the bacon, egg, and cheese bagel. It was alright -- nothing special, but given the size and volume of the place, I don't necessarily expect everything to be made completely fresh to order. It did the job. The service was also just alright. My interaction with the barista/bartender was brief and unfortunately a bit stale. She wasn't rude, just not particularly warm or memorable. Overall, it's a convenient place with a lot of options, but the experience itself was pretty average.

I have come to appreciate the freshness of their sandwiches lately. My wife had the chicken Caesar wrap. She liked the moist chicken, light tasting dressing and soft wrap. The potato salad was fairly standard with most. It had a nice mustard-mayo taste and consistency. It might have been a little heavy on the mayo. The egg and celery were good touches. Very smooth! The McAlister Club sandwich was filed high with delicious turkey and ham. The Swiss and cheddar cheese...plus toppings made a nice sandwich. The white bread was nicely toasted without being overly crispy. Just enough mayo to blend the tastes. The 1/2 salad, on the 2 choice deal, is enough for a whole meal. It's a real club salad. All the fresh meats, cheeses and toppings. Lots of croutons. The honey mustard dressing is thick and spicy. All blended to an enjoyable taste. The Mac & cheese side was rather small. The noodles were a bit mushy and over cooked. The cheese sauce comes off a bit "institutional". Perhaps a flavor that you would find at school or a place who isn't focused on a designer Mac & cheese. It was very creamy and had a mild cheese flavor. I liked the tee shirts the staff was wearing to promote their tea. McAlister's special tea is like drinking a hug - per the shirt. The tea has a nice smooth/warm/soothing taste. It kind of reminds you of a southern style tea. However, it isn't over the top sugary. It also doesn't have a bold strong tea taste. It's good...and I almost felt the hug lol.

Sunday around noon o'clock and it was pretty a pretty busy place. We reached the corner to place our order after a short wait and the gentleman behind the corner took our order. He spoke very quietly and I felt bad having to ask him to repeat nearly everything. After we gave him our order and he repeated it I questioned it if it was right. At the point another employee came back and asked us what it was. It turns out he was a new employee and still finding his way. No problem. No one starts out an expert at anything. The nice lady got it straightened out and we sat down to wait. A few minute later a manager came by and apologized and said he thought our order wasn't entered correctly. We told him that was the case originally, but it was corrected by another employee and it was good now. The food took about ten minutes and wasn't presented as the prettiest meal I've ever eaten. Both lids on my Jalapeño Turkey Crunch appeared to be sliding off the side and the pickled looked like it had been mushed in the hands of a toddle, barely resembling a pickle. It made it a VERY messy, high-napkin-utilization meal. While the tables were addressed quickly after diners leaving, the floors were another story. Yes, it was lunch rush, but at the same time it takes a micro-second to pick up an errant straw wrapper or napkin. This location has a nice outside seating area with several table and umbrellas. It was a bit too hot/humid for us to eat outside, but in better weather we'd have absolutely eaten outside.

Bubba's 33 (Coliseum Blvd) - first time visit; enjoyed the food, not fond of the atmosphere…read more I like to give new places a good period of time to settle in before trying them. Bubba's has been open in the old Chili's location now for more than 4 months. They seem like they have hit a steady-state so it's time for a review. The facility is very large and very popular. They were very busy on this particular Saturday evening. Our quoted wait time was 45-55 minutes. I overhead people commenting that they had been waiting over an hour. You can manage this issue by accessing the website and putting your name on the wait list. Bubba's spacious front porch makes a nice waiting area on a warm evening. Inside there isn't as much comfortable waiting spaces. Once inside you will find a large wide open seating area with an industrial ceiling. Booths are closely lined up to maximize seating. There is a very large & neonly-attractive bar area to the south side of the facility. TV's line to perimeter of the dining area. The walls contain typical sport and bar neon decor items. Overall a very electric and energetic atmosphere. People everywhere. Volume gets a bit loud making it a challenge to talk at your table. The team here was well organized and hustled. They were friendly while very focused on getting the tasks done. Our waitress took the time to serve us well. Plenty of wait and kitchen staff to keep things moving - well done! Bubba's has a very large menu with decent/expected prices. There are American food selections for everyone. The drink menu was large and attractive as well. Seemed odd that there were no prices on the drink menu - we had to ask only to get an "approximate" cost. Fortunately the drink prices were about what you would expect. Here is a run down on the food we ordered: -Onion Rings: simply outstanding! Thick onion piece enclosed in a thick batter. Batter was slightly crispy & seasoned, no over the top oily taste. Chipotle/BBQ/smoked Bubba's specialty sauce was a good add -Fried Pickles: not as impressive as the onion rings. Pickle chips are thin with a mild-bland dill taste. The breading is moderately thick and more crunchy. Seems like it had a touch of corn meal type flavoring. The home made ranch dressing had a mild ranch taste that didn't accent the pickle flavor as much as I had hoped. -Shrimp Tacos: my wife liked her fresh tasting tacos. Moist, tender and tangy. The crispy tots were a big hit as well. -Patriot Burger: very good beef taste, large patty loaded with all the toppings. The BBQ sauce and onion ring were excellent adds -Wings: I have a detailed review on the wings page. These medium to large wings were perfectly cooked and then lightly fried. The skins we're moderately crispy. The garlic Parmesan sauce had a heavy garlic flavor. Real Parmesan cheese was mixed with the garlic/oil mixture. The Sweet Chipotle BBQ sauce was slightly sweet and had a lower level of BBQ spice. Both were sauces with good flavor. Bubba's has settled in well. They seem to be executing their model pretty well. The menu has something for everyone. Next visit I will try the pizza as I've heard glowing reviews about the pizza. The food we selected was very tasty and the team hustled to serve. On the downside..I will admit this atmosphere was "bigger" than my expectations. The wait was long - despite using the wait list feature. The crowd was large and very "busy" coming and going. The volume was a bit loud causing our table of four to raise our volume. Overall...Bubba's is worth a try if you like American style food. Use the wait list feature. Be prepared for a busy/active dining experience.

The host and our server both were very kind and helpful. Our server, Wendi, was authentic and attentive. She talked with us about the menu, kept our drinks filled, and checked in on us often. The restaurant is definitely a sports bar. Large TVs line every wall. The decor is Americana. While it's loud when it's full, it just adds to the energy of the place. My husband and I both ordered the Shotgun Shrimp Po' Boy. He had Fire Fries and I had the loaded tots. The Po' Boy was loaded with shrimp and the Shotgun sauce is delicious! Hubbys Fire Fries had quite a kick, but so good! And my loaded tots were delicious! I highly recommend you get yourselves to Bubbas 33. They make everything from scratch which makes it all even better!

They have a very short suite menu, but what I had was terrific I had a a salad with salmon on it and a lot of other veggies. It was terrific. The salmon was jerk, salmon, and the whole thing was a delicious repast. We had a appetizer of a couple bowls of their homemade chips. Unlike many places that don't salt them. These were salted just the right amount not too salty and I can't say anything bad about it. Our server was terrific and his name was Alex and the place is shaping up. I guess they just took it over from someplace else. The walls are a little bit bare needs a little more decoration and the ceiling is bare, but the chairs are very comfortable so it's an easy five star.

Charlie's is also good for larger groups...and kids! Charlie's place is a large facility with lots of seating. The hosts are friendly. Making an on line reservation is easy. They always seem to have plenty of staff to serve and make you feel comfortable. Kudos to the team for developing a more attractive and welcoming lobby area! Sunday afternoon is brunch. They have a different menu than a normal lunch or dinner menu. Those menus are usually large and full of great choices. The brunch menu is much narrower and dominated by breakfast items. There are some non breakfast items...but not many. My wife had the breakfast tacos. She really liked the egg and bacon mixture. The sour cream and salsa sauces blended the tastes nicely. The Cobb salad was very fresh and tasty. There were lots of side ingredients such as egg, avocado, bacon, blue cheese, tomato and cucumber. The grilled chicken was plentiful and moist. Just enough grilled and seasoned taste to blend right in with the ingredients. The home made honey mustard dressing was consistent with what you would expect from honey mustard.
