My experience is that oil change places frequently do not have employees who care: about getting it done right, about customers, about honesty. Planet Lube - employees - set a very high standard in an industry prone to other extreme. Professionally executed, thorough, teamwork, and integrity all consistently describe the experience of getting my vehicles serviced at Planet Lube in Lake Bluff each and every time over the past 12-14 years. My background is in aviation maintenance - but the ease, efficiency, expertise, and environmentally sound recycling of fluids makes Planet Lube an absolutely worthwhile cost. read more

MAAAAAAN. These guys are the shit! They always do a great job. Never pressure you into adding additional services, they fill up your tired and fluids and they're super nice. Planet Lube or nothing read more

Offer basic services - quick place for an oil change. Nice employees, don't think I've ever waited to be assisted yet although would totally wait if there was a line. They have promos and coupons on the website but feel like the pricing is fair. Never been pressured into extras which is always appreciated. read more

My last review was in 2017--time flies when you're forced to go to work in Lake Bluff each day :) Had my oil changed and my windshield wipers replaced last week. They are fast, polite, clean and efficient. No reason to go elsewhere. read more

Quick and efficient. Drove in. Had a seat with car in view. They asked what type oil. Done.

They did a good job - but actually I don't have much to compare it to since I just moved here. So far... so good!

This place is great! Dakota was working and was able to get me in and out. Place is fast, friendly and a great value. Locally owned and definitely the place to get a great quick oil change without the slimy unnecessary up sells that big chains push. Can't say enough ice things!! read more

Super efficient. Highly personable staff. Fair prices. Excellent value. Highly recommend Planet Lube. I don't miss the days of waiting an hour at a Jiffy Lube. read more

Full synthetic oil change is costly. $89 on a 2015 Rav4. Dealers usually charge $59.

My car was really due for some new oil! I remembered driving by a place nearby and decided to give it a try. The seating area is right there in the shop area. I wasn't thrilled with that (I was cold) but so be it. As I expected, they tried to up sell some items like the oil. They also topped off all of my fluids. But this is how they won me --'without asking he mentioned that I have a seal that was allowing oil to leak and that because of where the seal is it would only leak oil while I was driving. The manager (owner?) wasn't trying to sell me to fix it. He just wanted me to know and told me I should look into getting it fixed if I was planning on driving my car long term. (I'm almost at 100,000 miles!) Thanks for the heads up!!!! read more

Planet Lube - From the waiting area. - Oil Change Stations Near Me - Lake Bluff, Illinois

Two man crew were effective efficient and extremely knowledgeable Will definitely go back again read more

First time around, very friendly environment clean and efficient I'm happy with the service that they provide for me highly appreciate it.

I went here this evening to get my oil changed because it was seriously low and a few hundred (okay, a thousand miles) past the time for an oil change. Also. The car was leaking oil from the underside and the night before I'd had to buy a quart of oil because my check engine light went on. The previous place I went to (the one who shall not be named) had neglected to tighten the underside oil pan...by about a half turn, just enough to leak oil at a nice and slow rate. Careless much? To add insult to injury, when my check engine light came on last night and I realized I was in danger of killing my car engine, I had hardly been able to add the quart of oil purchased at a gas station 30 miles from home. The the previous oil change place had super-extra tightened the oil cap to the engine and it was freezing and I had to ask someone to help me open it because even though I am the one everyone goes to in the house to open jars of stuff I could not for the life of me unscrew that lid. Now, according to the very helpful technicians -Steve and Mike- here at Planet Lube, I found out it was a four and a half quart tank and I was down three and a half quarts. Based on the previous nights' added quart...well, you do the math. So not only was I waaaaaay past the mileage for the oil change, my car indeed had been LEAKING. Which I just realized. Which I guess I already knew that by the oil stain on the floor of my garage, but since I don't know much about cars, even this obvious conclusion needed confirmation by a mechanic-type person for me to understand. Anyway, I digress. So briefly, here at the fabulous Planet Lube, Mike and Steve not only did the oil change but also checked fluids, checked and filled tires to accurate pressure, did not pressure sell me on extras, changed the headlight that was burned out, washed the windows, but also turned up the heat when I came there. Do NOT believe the review that says the waiting room is cold. I read it before I came and wore a bazillion layers of clothing and started getting so overheated in there that I was nauseous. I started peeling off layers and said it was too warm and they turned the heat down. It cooled down quickly and I was grateful. Oh, and as a customer here, you can come in and they will top off your car oil FREE until your first 4,000 miles, pressurize (is that a word?) your tires right, and wash your windows. Which is essential in winter. Thanks so much Planet Lube! #customerforlife read more

Stopped in this morning for the first time. Exceptional services, I will be back. Professional, quick, and great prices.

First rate service and not a long wait. This is my second time getting an oil change at Planet Lube. This time, they had us wait in our car which made it even safer during these times. I would certainly return back. Friendly and professional staff. read more

Took both mine and my wife's car here for oil change. Both times, the "D" boys, Danny and Dakota, were very friendly and extremely professional. No hassle to have extra things done to "fix" my car. In and out in around 10 minutes. They also offer a military discount. Highly recommend them. read more

We recently moved to the area and finding someone to replace our trusted mechanics at home seemed difficult. But, we saw Planet Lube had high ratings and decided to try it out. What a relief! The gentlemen here were fast, friendly, and very careful with our car. The quality of service was great, we will definitely come back with our other car. read more

Really good service! In and out in under 15 minutes, fluids topped up, and competitive prices. Staff was polite and attentive. They actually talked about the tasks they were working on while they worked (compare with other big chain oil change place where radio is blaring and often half the guys are standing around chatting). And no upsell pressure! Will def be back. read more

One time Planet Lube was closed and I went to a Jiffy Lube. Then I recalled why I care for Planet Lube so much. I secretly feel victimized at most auto service places. At Planet Lube, I feel respected. They have never tried to push unnecessary service or products. They're quick, clean, fair and do a great job. GO HERE! read more

Fast and friendly service. Fair pricing. Military discount offered. They don't offer anything other than oil changes, so if you need a tire rotation in addition to your oil change, you will have to go elsewhere. read more

The guys were so nice! They did the oil change in about fifteen minutes. This is my new goto for oil changes.

The previous reviews echo my exact sentiment. These guys are pleasant to be around, good at their jobs, quick, and extraordinarily fair. They never push any products, only inform you of a discrepancy. If you're looking for a quick oil change from people you can trust, this is the place to go. They pointed out issues with my car thst they couldn't fix, but recommended I take it to the dealer to correct. In all the years that I've owned a car, I've never found a store as good as Planet Lube. read more

this place is great! really close by and helpful. the workers are nice and friendly and help with any confusion. really fast, would totally recommend if you need your work done efficiently and quick. read more

Clean, quick, and no upsell. I was quickly in and out on my lunch break. They did not try to sell me any other products. It was a nice exchange and I didn't come out of it feeling ripped off as I often do when I get my car serviced. read more
