Since it was our final night in Cannes and in France in general, me and my friend decided to go all…read moreout for our last meal. We got the full course meal for £28 and a bottle of pretty good Rosé for £22 to share. Both the food and the service were great. They were very nice in helping us choose to eat something since we speak little French. If we ever come back to Cannes (next two years maybe) we will be coming back here to try their other food.

We went back a second time in one day, tried new dishes, and was just as happy. And hats off to the owner who literally was the only waiter in the packed little restaurant and was serving the wine, making the espressos, bussing tables, taking orders, making desserts, speaking to each table a bit, having a wonderful attitude, and doing it all in good timing to all the satisfied customers. The chef himself even pitched in with helping serve, totally in sync with the owner. These two amazing guys totally changed my and my wife's perspective about how other restaurants are run - especially when tipping here is more of a courtesy and in the states many restaurants just add 18% on to your bill for gratuity regardless of the service you got. I left the owner just 10 euros and he was so thankful and graciously declined but promised he'd give it to the kitchen staff when we insisted that we just had to appreciate them with a tip. Unreal, awesome, classy, can't wait to return.

It is hard for me to give a bad review at a restaurant where I actually didn't eat the food, but…read morethe service was so bad before the food came, we had no desire to stay. I made a reservation for 4 people, but one person in our party was feeling sick so only 3 people showed up. When the waiter (I think he was also the owner) asked us if we wanted wine, we said no and he scoffed at us (perhaps thinking we wouldn't be spending enough money there). Our friend ended up showing up to dinner to say bye to us. He didn't order any food, because he didn't feel well enough to eat. When he told the waiter he wasn't eating, the waiter took his utensils, took his napkin and threw it at me and shoved the bread basket away from him... and this was after the three of us had already ordered food. It was shockingly rude. None of us had ever experienced that before. When we told the waiter we were no longer interested in eating there anymore. He screamed, "We serve food here, you have to buy food. There's pizza down the street!" This was absolutely the weirdest and rudest experience I've ever had in a restaurant. If you read some of the reviews on Trip Advisor, many others have had similar rude experiences too.

Given its location behind Europe's largest conference center, this is a skill they seemed to have mastered. That said, we ordered several appetizers, mains, and desserts, and the food itself was delicious. The standout dish was the prawns. If this is the Mediterranean diet, the seafood must be eating very well--I've never seen prawns so large. One was nearly the size of my head.

Surprisngly for the middle of summer, they had plenty of seats available, though it's best to make a reservation. The staff speak English, however, if you want to avoid calling, you can also make a reservation online via Trip Advisor. We got there when the restaurant opened at 7 and were the first ones there. We saw the large portions in review photos and opted to skip the appetizers. Good thing we did. The portions are really really large, especially the seafood pasta. The seafood dish came in parchment paper, straight out of the oven and onto my table. There must have been at least 50+ mussels in the dish. The sauce was so flavorful and they were definitely not stingy on the seafood. The only reason I didn't give a 5 star.....I wish they gave more other seafood aside from mussels. You get 4 scallops, 1 prawn, 1 cray fish, and a bajillon mussels. If you're not a seafood fan, the eggplan parmesian penne is pretty good as well. This comes in a normal portion :)
