Awesome evening - food and service was lovely. One of my favorite spots in Cannes. Thank you.

Up front dining is lovely but don't be surprised by visitors. The Paella is enough to feed 4 and was the best I've ever had

We got the full course meal for £28 and a bottle of pretty good Rosé for £22 to share. Both the food and the service were great. They were very nice in helping us choose to eat something since we speak little French. If we ever come back to Cannes (next two years maybe) we will be coming back here to try their other food.

And hats off to the owner who literally was the only waiter in the packed little restaurant and was serving the wine, making the espressos, bussing tables, taking orders, making desserts, speaking to each table a bit, having a wonderful attitude, and doing it all in good timing to all the satisfied customers. The chef himself even pitched in with helping serve, totally in sync with the owner. These two amazing guys totally changed my and my wife's perspective about how other restaurants are run - especially when tipping here is more of a courtesy and in the states many restaurants just add 18% on to your bill for gratuity regardless of the service you got. I left the owner just 10 euros and he was so thankful and graciously declined but promised he'd give it to the kitchen staff when we insisted that we just had to appreciate them with a tip. Unreal, awesome, classy, can't wait to return.

We walked from our…read morehotel, the JW Marriott, a lovely 10 minute stroll along the Blvd de la Croisette, then 5 minutes uphill to the Suquet historical area. Located on a narrow, lively street buzzing with small bars and cafés, which is very popular with locals (I assume this because everyone spoke French and it had a neighborhood vibe). Our friendly, server greeted us warmly and spoke very good English. We elected to go with the 37€ prix fixe menu, which included a first course, entree and dessert - each selected from the full menu or daily special. Our wine - a robust, jammy Syrah with a velvet finish - was recommended by our server and came from the nearby Lérins winery on St Honorat Island, where it is made by Monks at the Abbey. It was superb! My first course was one if the specials for the day, a crab ravioli in a delicious sauce that reminded me of a creamy creole sauce without the heat. The spices didn't overpower the delicate flavor of the crab. One of my colleagues started with the fresh lobster salad, which was half of a large, bright red, fresh lobster served alongside some fresh greens & tomatoes. If my raviolis weren't so great, I would have been jealous! Another colleague went with the mozzarella & tomato salad, a nice variation of a caprese salad, but more like a bruschetta minus the toast, which he thoroughly enjoyed. Off to a great start! Entrees didn't disappoint either! Two of us had the rack of lamb and the others had the pasta with seafood. My rack of lamb consisted of 3 ribs of perfectly cooked, medium rare lamb, accompanied by creamy mashed potatoes and a garlicky squash & tomato vegetable sauté that tasted good enough to make me consider becoming a vegetarian. I unashamedly consumed every fabulous morsel on my plate. I refrained from gnawing on the ribs in front of my colleagues, which required considerable restrain. The seafood pasta dish included fresh prawns, mussels & scallops sautéed in garlicky olive oil with herbs and fresh tomatoes. The seafood was fresh, generous and piled on top of a toothy fresh spaghetti pasta. Lone of my colleagues saw the longing in my eye and shared a fat, sweet prawn which was delicious. Round two was fantastic! Lastly came our dessert selections. Two went with the oversized macaroons, which was served with a creamy topping and fresh fruits. They were consumed very quickly, which I took as an indication they were very tasty. Another colleague selected the chocolate layer cake, which was light, moist and came atop a smear of cream and puréed fruit. It looked delicious, but it was a cake. I went with the special tiramisu, served parfait style with fresh berries & cherries and I think some crunchy biscotti crumbs or a better-than-average lady finger. It was without a doubt the best tiramisu I've ever tasted (included those consumed in several trips to Italy!). Our meal, including wine, service charge and tip came to 86€ per person. Definitely worth every penny! Should you find yourself in Cannes, if you are wondering whether or not to give le Marais a try, all I can say is OUI! QUI!!

Once we were seated, everything started off a bit wrong. The waiter we had was by far the most unfriendliest man I may have ever met. I don't know what was going on with him, but, he wasn't nice at all. We had to ask for our waters several times. Seafood paella- 3 stars. It was OK. I mean, we should have known better than to order paella in France for one, and paella at this place. The flavor was average, and nothing special. Nicoise Salad- 4 stars. This salad was actually really good. I was a bit surprised by the flavorfulnpess of the tuna. The dressing was great, and portion was nice. Bread here was NOT good at all. Due to service being poor, I am knocking this place down. I think it depends on who you get, as I noticed that another waiter was much more friendlier and on top of his situation, but unfortunately he wasn't OUR waiter.

Given its location behind Europe's largest conference center, this is a skill they seemed to have mastered. That said, we ordered several appetizers, mains, and desserts, and the food itself was delicious. The standout dish was the prawns. Surprisngly for the middle of summer, they had plenty of seats available, though it's best to make a reservation. The staff speak English, however, if you want to avoid calling, you can also make a reservation online via Trip Advisor. We got there when the restaurant opened at 7 and were the first ones there. We saw the large portions in review photos and opted to skip the appetizers. Good thing we did. The portions are really really large, especially the seafood pasta. The seafood dish came in parchment paper, straight out of the oven and onto my table. There must have been at least 50+ mussels in the dish. The sauce was so flavorful and they were definitely not stingy on the seafood. The only reason I didn't give a 5 star.....I wish they gave more other seafood aside from mussels. You get 4 scallops, 1 prawn, 1 cray fish, and a bajillon mussels. If you're not a seafood fan, the eggplan parmesian penne is pretty good as well. This comes in a normal portion :)
