Time sensitive delivery was expected yesterday. It is needed for a 5:00 am medical appointment tomorrow. After watching the tracking all day, it finally appeared as 'delivery attempted' but "undeliverable" due to "blocked access" to the "door or driveway". Three cameras say the driver is a liar; no delivery was attempted nor was access to anything on the property blocked. Would have been more believable if driver stated, "undeliverable because it is raining and I hate my job." Would not have had it shipped to home if I knew USPS was the carrier. I receive 100% of UPS/FedEx deliveries. I've only had USPS deliver 2 out of about 10 successfully. (Being generous. I can actually only remember one success in three years). Nothing against them. I just really wish they'd deliver when they're the carrier. They'll carry it on the truck for a week then return to sender before they'll deliver it. This package actually *really* needed to be received. Received on time would have been a bonus. I used to be a delivery driver, and I just don't get it. Terrible delivery service. Always mixing our mail with neighbors. Leave the parcel lockers open where they fill the mail. My items were stolen when this could have been easily prevented by locking back of the mailbox unit. This is not the first time the back of the mailboxes was left open. Our street all talk about the same issue. Manager at this location over matter kind but not helpful whatsoever. I'm constantly worried my mail is not going to go in the right hands. read more

I've lived in Placerville, CA for 12 years. I learned years ago to do my post office business elsewhere, when possible. I use the Diamond Springs post office. They are cheerful, courteous and know their job. Unforunately, there are occasions that require visiting the home PO. I went to collect our mail this morning and found that our community mailboxes had been replaced. My key wouldn't fit in the slot. I went through the xmas eve line at the PO and told the counter person the problem. She had the usual (for this location) depressed demeanor and "I don't care" attitude. She wandered into the back for a while. When she returned, she told me they didn't change the locks. I told her again that my key doesn't work. She said I need to talk to the manager and sent me to the end of the counter to wait. After a half hour, I asked a nearby counter person to remind the manager I was waiting. And then again 15 minutes later. 10 minutes later yet, the manager showed up. I gave him the same information. He went in the back. When he returned, he had my mail and told me that the locks were changed but the keys aren't ready. So, the 30+ people with new mailboxes need to go to the post office every day to pick up their mail and, maybe someday, their new key will be in the mail. Of course they don't know that and won't until their 30+ trips to the post office. Great system! read more

I have lived in Placerville since August it's almost may and still have not received not one piece of mail. We decided to get a post office box thinking this will be easier on them and nope still no mail and it's been months. The post office has cost us money by not delivering mail. DO NOT GO HERE. YOU WILL REGRET. they took our money for the po box with no problem. I can't believe it they need to be shut down. Placerville has always been the slowest delivering post office around, but in the past few years it has become terrible at customer service! I'm not sure where our mail is separated and misplaced, but I just received my visa bill today and it was DUE 5 days ago! Thanks for that late fee! We also seem to get our Safeway ads a week after the sale has expired! Also, in our neighborhood we are constantly exchanging mail that didn't end up in the correct box, thank goodness for great neighbors! Amazon packages always seem to have ridiculous explanations for their 1-3 day delays,(my walkway has never been blocked)! I would not depend on this PO to get your mail delivered in a timely manner and if you have time sensitive mail to send, drive over to Diamond Spgs. There are 2 exceptional, knowledgeable employees who have been there a long time and try to keep the long line moving inside the PO, but unprepared mailers always seem to take up so much of their time. I think the whole postal system needs to be streamlined for efficiency before it totally collapses. *One positive note is that they finally got rid of the carrier who complained to me about having to deliver my heavy dog food every other month! read more

I got a notification at 7:19 at night that they attempted to deliver my package but could not access my driveway , the package could fit in my mailbox which is on the street! I was in my driveway at the time and saw no one blocking anything this has happened to many times, mis deliveries also , supposedly we " lost " two registration tags in the mail really two?
